I'm reading The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. So far the story is live up to its title. It is strange and beautiful.
I'm halfway through Winger. The story is great so far but it took me a bit of time because of the large size..
After finishing The October Horse: A Novel of Caesar and Cleopatra now continuing with the final book of the series, Antony and Cleopatra. This will, sadly, truly be the final book in the series, as Colleen McCullough passed away in January. Truly a writer like none other who has brought a the Roman world alive in a very historically accurate manner through her books.
I'm currently reading Sabriel by Garth Nix and now I see what the hype is all about. If you are into YA fantasy then this book is a must read. The magic elements and world-building are fantastic!
Currently reading If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I'm trying to finish it as fast as possible in the middle of my hectic schedule >_<
Read a short book I bought for my boy, Star Wars: Jedi Academy. Really funny and entertaining. My best description of it would be Diary of a Wimpy Kid set in the Star Wars universe. My son really likes it too! Highly recommended for parents looking for a good book for children.
Currently reading On Love My friend said that "The Art of Travel" is better than this. But, I haven't read "The Art of Travel". So, let's try this book first :P
Astiani wrote: "currently reading To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han, and enjoyed it so far!"Hi. Is it a good book? How's the story? I really want to purchase the book but keep changing my mind.
Finally finished Antony and Cleopatra.. thus ends the yearlong read through of the entire series by Colleen McCullough.So.. I now continue with the latest of the Old Man's War series by Scalzi, John, The Human Division.
I'm currently reading Lola and the Boy Next Door. I'm only on chapter 6, but so far this is not as interesting as Anna and the French Kiss imo. :/

Really, Jualiana? I thought Lola and the Boy Next Door and also Isla and the Happily Ever After are miles better than Anna and the French Kiss. They were more fun to read, haha, but hey, that's just me :)
Currently reading The Girl on the Train and I can honestly say that I'm hooked. Can't wait to go home from work and read some more!

So imagine my disappointment when I found it was kinda well, repetitive and boring. I really had to struggle to finish it.
I think Lola was childish and a bit unrealistic to me. (view spoiler) Not to mention that some scenes were too much of a coincidence that they just didn't make any sense. (view spoiler)
Sorryyy.. :D Anyway, I will read Isla very soon and I hope this one will live up to my expectation. ;)
Currently reading non-fiction, Less Than Human: Why We Demean, Enslave, and Exterminate OthersIt's a very chilling read but so far I'm hooked!

Haha, no problem at all. I actually found Lola's obsession with costumes genuine. I think at that particular age, when you are passionate about something, you are absolutely passionate about it (something I can relate to), especially if you have the means to actually make it into a reality - which Lola did. I do sort of agree about Max suddenly becoming a jerk was a tad bit too convenient - but I don't think it's too far-fetched given his characterization. Although it was sudden, I thought it was a progress that could naturally happen to a person of Max's character.
Anyway, I don't think I'm at the right thread to discuss this anyhow, haha. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it as much as I did and I do so hope too that you'll enjoy Isla!
Hugs!

I've just started Yes Please, and I love it so much already. Also currently working my way through Megamorphs, a companion series to Animorphs. (Still upset that Gramedia stopped publishing Animorphs before the series was finished tbh.)
This book just arrived this afternoon! I'm so excited to read it. Not only because it's one hella good looking book, it won 2 literature prizes in 2006 and 2008 and has promising collection of short stories :)
Happy May Day!Just finished The Round House and now beginning to read The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
Just re-read I Know Not by James Daniel Ross.. Never want to re-read any book intentionally before (sometimes I forgot which books I've read n end-up buying it twice - sigh), this one is the first book to compel me to do so.. It's classify as dark & gritty, recommended for fans of Broken Empire series from Mark Lawrence, or books by Joe Abercrombie, or stuff like that :)

It's good prosaically, its story just lack of climax. Like you went for hours for a trip and only spent minuscule time on the destination.
Not to be out of topic, I'm reading One Hundred Years of Solitude now.

I'm assigned this book for a summer reading by my professor. On with the show!
Currently re-reading Fangirl. Kind of having a reading slump so I need something that can make me happy :D

It is simply amazing and unforgettable!. Just recently finished it and I'm still can't deal with the real world right now.
