Finished with The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the Real Count of Monte Cristo, a very fascinating look on the origin of the famous Count of Monte Cristo and French revolution (it's not Marie Antoinette's fault that French went bankrupt).

Also reading The Knife of Never Letting Go, very exciting read!

Just finished The First Man in Rome. Awesome book.. as gripping as A Game of Thrones, but in the historical setting of the Middle-Era Roman Republic.

It's really refreshing to read a good book about personages (Gaius Marius, Lucius Cornelius Sulla) that tend to be forgotten as they are overshadowed by more popular events/people before (First Punic War/Hannibal Barca/Scipio Africanus) and after (Julius Caesar/Gallic War).

Now starting the second book of the series, The Grass Crown.

@Debs: Ah, I know what you mean. I once read Columbine, then The Age of Miracles, followed by Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity, and topped with Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness. It did left me feeling quite down somewhat.

Finished reading Half-Blood Blues which is somewhat so-so. I don't know if it was me or the book. Nothing new form-wise, the plot somewhat lacking, the characters're okay but I agree the writing style is really convincing.

Now reading either An Unnecessary Woman by Rabih Alameddine or Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres (it's difficult writer's-name month).

I just finished The Missing Link by JM Sevilla and already started on the next sequel Becoming Noah Baxter.
Very interesting story line with beautifully written characters, finished the first book on one sit :) This is the kind of book I would like to re-read several times.

Just finished South of the Border, West of the Sun and I finished the final chapters in a cab when I was on my way home. That condition has prevented me to shed my tears. If I read the final chapters in my room, I probably cry my heart out like a lonely wolf. That fleeting feeling that you always get every time you read Murakami's books is totally there. Until now. Love this book so much.

Currently reading The Briefcase (I read the UK version titled "Strange Weather in Tokyo). As the synopsis said, it's an old fashioned romance in modern Tokyo. 10 pages left. I love this book so far.

Reading this book gives you a melancholy feeling, similar to the feeling after several gulps of beer, I guess. Don't know why I said that, it's just how it feels when I read it hehe.

On-off reading The Namesake and Will Grayson, Will Grayson . I've got this problem with books right now. Book-hoarding too much and become indecisive to choose which books that I have to read next.

Reading The Republic of Thieves, I really really hope this one doesn't end in cliffhanger since who knows how many years it'll take before the fourth book getting published.

Also reading The Corpse Walker: Real Life Stories, China from the Bottom Up. Sociology. Those living on the bottom of the burgeoning society.

Finish reading The Curse Breakers, if you love UF genre with romance, I'll recommend this. The love triangle was handled very well

And reading Covet. I don't know, this book have a big issue, cheating. And I know not everyone love cheat plot. But Covet is, simply put, open my mind about marriage. I think whether you married or not, you must read this one.
