Where do you buy your books?

I used to go to both Borders and Barnes and Noble, but since they recently closed my local Borders, I have to go to Barnes and Noble. I also buy books on Amazon when I can't find them elsewhere. Sometimes I get books from my public library, but they don't usually have the books I want to read in-stock.

Sometimes I buy my books, but that's usually if I absoulutely cannot wait for the book. Or, if it's like a comic book. (Twilight: The graphic Novel) or Twilight: The official illustrated guide. OR, if I LOVED the book. I'm planning on buying Wither by Lauren Destefano soon.

B&N for life! Barnes and Nobles may have some interesting prices...but it has almost all the books I want.

Plus bookfairs :D

And don't forget Walmart...

I've been buying more and more kindle books lately. I also regularly go to the library's discard sales and the secondhand stores in my area like the Salvation Army to get books for cheap. I love it when I get lucky and find a new book that's on the current bestseller's list and I get it for less than a $1.

I've been buying for Barnes and Noble a lot more since I started these eReader thingys, but that's mostly online shopping since there isn't one close to where I live. You can get a lot on in store goodies with their newletters. For in store shopping I'm a Books-a-Million junky. They have some really good sales and coffee mmmmmmm........coffee. Oh and Walmart for emergency reading.

i usually get books from chapters, borrow from friends and even borrow some from the library :P

From the very few bookstores that are in my city (seriously, there are like 10 bookstore in the entire city, so I don't have too many options) and if I'm lucky I buy online from Amazon.

Sakura- I'm gonna have to disagree with you about 10 bookstores not being much choice. I think that's PLENTY of bookstores! We certainly don't have that many in my city.

Nah, if the bookstores offer all the same books and are tiny they aren't much choice. Luckily I'm going to USA on holidays, and I'm saving money to buy loads of books =)

I used to have one small bookstore. And that was it.
Then there's one small one in the town one over and a Borders in the town on the other side, but obviously the Borders is not there. So now, it's just the one small bookstore in the other town.

Ten is a lot.

I was in love with Borders until they went out of business! Now, I buy from Amazon and 2nd and Charles. When I'm out of town, Barnes and Noble. And rarely, Books-a-Million.

If you live in England there's two major retailers I find: Waterstones and WHSmith (I buy from both). Both selling books around £7 each, if you're lucky. I bought a Morganville Vampire book new from WHSmith for £7 then went into The Works and found they were selling it for £1.99. They do deals for 3 books for £5. But they don't sell a lot lot of different books! It's a good price though. Or from Amazon. :)

Being Canadian, I mostly go to Chapters and Coles for my books. Or Wal-mart. I especially love the ones with cafes in them - my usual bookstores always have a Starbucks, so my books always come out smelling like coffee (makes sniffing my books all the more enjoyable, haha, I'm such a freak xD) The only time I've ordered online was from the Book Depository, which was amazingly cheap! But I usually don't because I like my books in mint condition. I'm that weird girl who's always cramming her arm to the back of the shelf to get the one book that no one's touched (how embarassing!) I hated my school library in elementary, but now that I'm in high school, the selection is a thousand times better and I borrow books from there. Oddly though, I have more of a drive to read a book when I own it. Sadly, library books sometimes end up half done for me.

I usually buy in the local bookstore, National Bookstore, here in the Philippines, and also in Book Sale where they sell books (Php 50 and above, approx 1 US dollar). Sometimes I also buy books from Book Depository, a UK-based bookstore. Visit: bookdepository.co.uk

I don't usually buy books... Only when I need to for school or if someone gives me a giftcard. I usually buy them at Indigo and new ones only. I usually just get my books from the library

I don't usually buy books but I came across the Scholastic warehouse/office/place and they had this bookshop for the books that were damaged, I think. Their highest price was at least 50% off what you would get in retail bookstores. And I don't know what their definition of 'damaged' is because those books weren't it.

I get most of my book from Amazon because i have Prime, they come in like 1 day with prime. Occasionally I go to barnes and noble but it is expensive so i dont go often. I also have a tablet and my some on the Android NOOK app

Amazon and library booksales. Most of my books I buy on my Kindle using Amazon because a surprising amount of books are in the six-dollar range on the Kindle.

Well, I usually check out a lot of books from multiple libraries, but if I'm going to buy them I usually get them from Half Price, Barnes and Noble, or online from Amazon.

Ebay. They sell them for about 4.99, free shipping. So.. Yeah. I don't ever get ebooks 'cos, i just like being able to feel, see the book cover. Yeah. I'm .. strange.
I also buy during school book fairs, the "special" deals. xD

I almost rely solely upon Amazon.com for all of my reading and research needs. If I need or want something that will take too long to ship from it, I'll check a local Barnes & Noble. I'd love to support the independent book stores, but most are much farther away than the B&Ns for me.
