Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I read Entwined as an ARC and can't say you'd waste your time reading it - it was a great first novel! And it had a gorgeous cover!

message 811: by Emily (new)

Emily (yabookgrl1981) The city next to where I live has there own library system, and they were having their semi annual Friends of the Library sale. I stopped going to our county one because the books were so old and mostly just romance, but I thought I'd check this one out since it's a different system. I am so glad I did. I got:
Storm Glass (Glass, #1) by Maria V. Snyder You Are So Undead to Me (Megan Berry, #1) by Stacey Jay Undead Much (Megan Berry, #2) by Stacey Jay How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier Devilish by Maureen Johnson Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #1) by Louise Rennison Taken by Storm by Angela Morrison Never Change by Elizabeth Berg Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout Look Again by Lisa Scottoline Crossed A Tale of the Fourth Crusade by Nicole Galland Portrait of an Unknown Woman by Vanora Bennett The Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard Sizzling Sixteen (Stephanie Plum, #16) by Janet Evanovich all for only 6 bucks. And all most all of the books look brand new. I was so excited. I will definitely be going back next time they have their sale!!

Wow! My local library also has a Friends of the Library sale (twice a year), but they never have anything that good.

I am reading the Sweep series with Book of Shadows & The Coven, I am really enjoying it. When I began I thought the writing style may have been too young but as I read on it seemed to get stronger and I love how descriptive the words are.A really lovely read, I have book and one and two together as I found it at the library, I am hoping I can get the next ones! ;)

message 815: by Nada (new)

Nada Al-Karmi (nadooush) just got the millenium trilogy

Jo (jowillwrite) | 26 comments I've just ordered 'I am the Messenger' by Markus Zusak and 'Fleshmarket' by Nicola Morgan.

I'm also staring so intently at 'Please Ignore Vera Dietz' by A. S King that I believe my laptop will get fed-up of that window being open and just add it to my basket for me.

My postman is going to love me.
Whoops.

message 827: by Julie (new)

Julie I just bought Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin against my better judgement and picked up Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver Wolves, Boys and Other Things That Might Kill Me by Kristen Chandler Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher and Stolen A letter to my captor by Lucy Christopher at the library.

I also got The Sweetheart of Prosper County by Jill S. Alexander in audio book. I've never gotten an audio book before but I'll be driving 10 hours to my hometown and I thought it would be a good time to try one.

message 828: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I love audiobooks Julie - I hope that is a good one. Why was Something Borrowed against your better judgement??

message 829: by Julie (new)

Julie I wish I would've thought of the audiobooks before, they didn't have many choices at the branch of the library I go to and I would've liked to have a couple more.

Well, not necessarily against my better judgement because it seems really cute, I guess I should've said that I shouldn't be buying anything right now :)

message 830: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I just bought The Funhouse by Dean Koontz Sweet Valley Confidential Ten Years Later by Francine Pascal and Choker by Elizabeth Woods on Amazon! Yay!

Does your library have Overdrive or Netlibrary? I get most of mine that way now. Oh I got you about the buying thing! Been there, done that :)

message 832: by Julie (new)

Julie Heidi- I checked and they have Overdrive. Do you have any recommendations for books?

message 833: by Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (last edited Apr 04, 2011 04:08PM) (new)

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 325 comments Julie wrote: "Heidi- I checked and they have Overdrive. Do you have any recommendations for books?"

Crank by Ellen Hopkins was good in audio. The book is just fantastic so that may be why. Glass was also available on my Overdrive library. I have listened to a few already and I just got my library card this year. Saves money and it is nice to relax and be read to.
I am currently reading: Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn . I am loving it so far. :)

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 325 comments Went to the thrift store today and got some books:
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks The Revenge of the Shadow King (Grey Griffins, #1) by Derek Benz Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire Eeyore Has a Birthday Storybook (Pooh Storybook) by A.A. Milne The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook by Judy Krizmanic The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, #1) by Ann Brashares The Second Summer of the Sisterhood (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, #2) by Ann Brashares

Some of those will be great summer reads. I am happy to have all of them. Only 1 dollar for most and 2 for A Walk to Remember and The Revenge of the Shadow King.

Heidi Julie wrote: "Heidi- I checked and they have Overdrive. Do you have any recommendations for books?"

Oh my! I love audio so I have a ton. What types of books do you like? I see in your tbr pile you have
Delirium - I know most Overdrive's have that. I also know most Overdrive's have the Bloody Jack series Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy, which is one of my favorite's on audio. I highly recommend The Help or The Book Thief OR if you want light or fun the Georgia Nicholson series Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging or any book by Sarah Addison Allen.

Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry and Raised by Wolves (Raised by Wolves, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

And even though I was just saying yesterday that I didn't need to buy anything my friend and I went to a Borders that is closing and everything was 80% off! So I got all these for $20!

Arphaxad | 335 comments Just collected Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely, #5) by Melissa Marr and Jane by April Lindner from the library; the first purely to get some closure in this increasingly irritating series, and the second because it looked interesting - a modernised Jane Eyre, I think. Looking forward to that one :)

Valerie | 58 comments I pre-ordered Mr. Darcy's Undoing.. won't be out until Oct. 1st, so I have a while to wait, but looks like a good story. Actually, quite a few of that author's books look interesting, so I may add more of those to my list ;)
