Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Alyssa, I just finished it this morning. It's worth every page! Mac does tend to get long-winded... but what else it new.

message 504: by Kurukka (last edited Jan 30, 2011 07:01AM) (new)

Kurukka I went to WHSmith yesterday and bought the first Harry Potter, the adult edition. The covers are so beautiful I want them all in that edition :3
And I also bought Wuthering Heights. Need to read more classics.

message 505: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I didn't know there was an 'adult edition' of Harry Potter... I'm going to go look that up now.

message 506: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Wendy wrote: "I didn't know there was an 'adult edition' of Harry Potter... I'm going to go look that up now."

Me neither. Perhaps it is a non US thing?

message 507: by Bethany (new)

Bethany (b_shively) Okay...I just got in 5 book Friday and already have 2 of them read....but now I don't know which one to read next....here are the choices....any suggestions?!?

both os these books were AWESOME!! I highly recommend them!!

message 508: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka It's just the cover that differs. There are covers for children : (http://forbiddenplanet.co.uk/blog/wp-...) and adults(http://www.allstar-hub.com/wp-content...). :P

message 509: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ohhh I like the adult covers too!

message 510: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) These are my covers...

I wasn't a fan of Halo. If you've read [book:Hush, Hush|6339664] an liked it, you might like Halo.

I did love Hush, Hush.....thanks for the suggestion Amanda!!

message 514: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Never seen them Carmel. How boring! I have only ever seen the ones Wendy mentioned (the non adult covers). I really can't believe you have not read the series yet!

message 515: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments I'm supposed to be getting Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand in the mail today! yay!

message 516: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments I'm supposed to be getting in the mail..

Burned
Impulse
Infinite Days
I love you, You haunt me
Teach Me
Romeo and Juliet

I didn't know how to put the cover.

message 517: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments There's a link above the comment box that says "add book/author" which brings up a window where you can add book covers.

message 518: by Kayla (last edited Feb 05, 2011 09:55AM) (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 352 comments Amanda wrote:I didn't know how to put the cover."

I do it this way [book cover:] then add the book behind the : and minus the space between book and cover

message 519: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Don't you need the number? What cover does that show?

Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning

message 520: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Ah, i see. The number is to differentiate between which edition cover you want to use.

message 521: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments Oh wow..
LOL, thank you Becca.

message 522: by Kayla (last edited Feb 05, 2011 10:00AM) (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 352 comments sometimes you need the number, but more often, it shows the book you want. like, Pretties (Uglies, #2) by Scott Westerfeld

message 523: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That's nice. That certainly saves alot of time searching. Thanks!

message 524: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments How does it work when you have books with the same title that are different though?

message 525: by Heidi (new)

Heidi You all are confusing me! Becca I thought you were on vacation?? I am just going to stick with the way I already add books! It already asks if you want other editions when I search.

message 526: by Kayla (new)

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 352 comments at that time becca, i find the book, then just backspace so i only have the numbers from the book i want and put it at the end of the book.

message 527: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I'm leaving soon Heidi :) Don't worry, you won't have to see my mug around here for a week.

message 528: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I think it's a nice idea when I have typed out something and then I want to go back and add book links or images afterwards.

It's so frustrating to have to find a book, it automatically goes to the end of what you type and you have to copy/paste it to it's correct place.

message 529: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments Alright, let's see if I have this..
okay so a book that's in the mail..

I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder

message 530: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments Oh yay! I did it.
LOL, I feel so accomplished.
Thanks again Becca.

Ahhh I see what you are talking about now! I was lost - sorry! Becca you will be missed :)

message 532: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments You're welcome Amanda :)
Thanks Heidi.

message 533: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I just bought the audiobook of Bloody Jack Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1) by L.A. Meyer at my library book sale for $1.00. You can't beat that with a stick!

message 534: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I need to hunt up our next library sale! I keep hearing about all these great deals. I'm going to go look now.

message 535: by Heidi (new)

Heidi go to booksalefinder.com :)

message 536: by Megan (new)

Megan (megg_reads) | 34 comments I received an ARC of Shine by Lauren Myracle yesterday

message 537: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I just got an armload of books from the library today. My february books to read are:
Dark Song by Gail Giles Crazy by Han Nolan Hold Still by Nina LaCour Crash into Me by Albert Borris and A Little Wanting Song by Cath Crowley . I made Feb. my month of stand-alone novels I've been getting behind on.

message 538: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Crazy is excellent, but it is intense!

message 539: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments The cover of Crazy is colorful.. it makes me want to read the book.. LOL

message 540: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I just used my Barnes and Noble Groupon and got $10 off these books!!

Dead as a Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse, #5) by Charlaine Harris Definitely Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #6) by Charlaine Harris All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7) by Charlaine Harris Everlost (The Skinjacker Trilogy, #1) by Neal Shusterman

message 541: by Heidi (new)

Heidi So the groupon worked! I checked it out, but did not commit yet.

message 542: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments I did the Amazon one. Probably the only way I got the books I did. (I'm a dad/husband who never seems to get to spend money on myself. Most of my $$ just went to getting my wife her birthday gifts. Glad I pre-ordered The Wise Man's Fear (Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss while I could.)

message 543: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments It works! I get daily Groupon e-mails for deals at businesses in my area. I LOVE Groupon!

message 544: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I looked at the Groupon too, but I don't get it. Maybe because I didn't look too hard. i suppose I should go check again.

message 545: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Yes you should check it out! You buy the Groupon for $10 and get $20 worth of merchandise. A certain number of people have to opt in to buy it for everybody to get the Groupon. If enough people buy the Groupon then everybody gets it. If there are not enough people who buy it then you do not get charged. I have never had that happen though.

message 546: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I had no problem checking on it Wendy - try it again! Sounds like Seize the Deal, which I subscribe to as well :)

message 547: by Arphaxad (last edited Feb 07, 2011 02:06PM) (new)

Arphaxad | 335 comments Against my better judgement, I gave in to the temptation of the library again...and got:

The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols (which is weirdly tiny!) and The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson (which I'm already halfway through, and loving it).

message 548: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Feb 07, 2011 02:09PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Jamie wrote: "I'm supposed to be getting Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand in the mail today! yay!"

That one was really good. It is so much better than Fallen or Hush, Hush. It actually lived up to the hype, which surprised me. It's not as angsty and you end up liking the completely uncoventional guy, which is nice for a change.

message 549: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I just got a bunch of ARC's in the mail: Die for Me (Revenants, #1) by Amy Plum , Steel by Carrie Vaughn , Entwined by Heather Dixon . Pretty, no?

Stacia - I'm going to pick UNEARTHLY up sometime this week I think. I've been hearing nothing but good reviews - I hope it lives up to hype for me, too!

Arphaxad - I have Iron King and Going Too Far and loved them both. Going Too Far is tiny, isn't it? I can hardly find it on my bookshelf, next to all my taller books! Hope you like them!

message 550: by Megan (new)

Megan (megg_reads) | 34 comments I bought Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver yesterday!
