We're on the same page for Eternal Kiss of Darkness. I think maybe that's why I'm not loving these Night Huntress spinoffs--you have these side characters we have grown to love, and we get excited that they finally get their own book, but then Frost's character development leaves much to be desired. I actually wasn't a fan of the last Cat & Bones either, I feel like that series has kinda jumped the shark. But I did love the first few. Oh well. :)

Ooh...the Red Reaper...scary. :)I recently read a Cat & Bones short in Death's Excellent Vacation and could not get into it. It was supposed to take place after the last book, and Cat & Bones are "happily ever after" and boring as shit. I kept saying to myself, "You loooove Bones, remember? He's super hot, and that accent...Hurry! Think of David Gandy as Bones!"
So...I don't have high hopes for the next one, but maybe because of that, it'll be great. :)
      UPDATE: New Member!Effective Immediately!
G.L.O.Bs, please welcome your newest member, Rebecca! She'll be joining us to help pick up the slack left by ~*~Hershey's Kisses~*~.
Feel free to ask any questions, we're all happy to help you get up to speed on things. :)

To celebrate our newest members, I decided to announce our next shelf a bit early!
OUR NEXT SHELF IS ..... shifters
DIRECT LINK: 'shifters'
Happy Reading, Everyone!!
Yea! Welcome Rebecca! Here's the bare bones of it--let me know if I don't make sense on something or if you have questions. There are 5 members on each team, but we only need 4 members to read & review a book to get a stamp for that shelf's Bingo square.
So far, there have been 2 shelves called--we have the stamp for the 1st shelf, and as soon as Sarah posts her review of Blood & Chocolate, we'll have our stamp for the 2nd shelf.
A new shelf is posted every 2 weeks, usually on Monday, but Steph is going to pull the new one a day early (now) in honor of our 2 new Bingo players. :)
Once Steph posts the new shelf, each of us will go through the shelf list and we'll each post here what we're planning on reading. Then you just need to come back here and post a little review when you're done, and once 4 of us have posted reviews, we get our stamp.
So, what we need from you: when you get a chance, we need another "free space" read. There's no hurry on that, no one is close to a Bingo yet, just whenever you get a chance. And here are the Free Space rules:
To get free space credit, each team must pick a book from one of these three options:
(1) SOS' Book of the Month: October's Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare OR November's Alpha by Rachel Vincent
OR
(2) A book off of any of the group's October or November new release threads found here:
SOS New Releases
OR
(3) A book off of the group's bookshelf (any shelf/tag)
SOS Bookshelf
***ETA: Steph posted the new shelf while I was typing this novel. :) ***
Of course, I started listening to Shift this past week. But since it usually takes me at least 2 weeks to get through an audio book, it's probably better this way. :)And thankfully, the only other shifter book I was planning on reading this month for my other challenges was on page 9 of the list, so I'm good to go. I'll be reading:

Thanks everyone, I'm happy to join! :)
And thanks Larua Lulu for explaining! I think I've got it, otherwise I'll just have to ask as time goes. I'll check out the Free Space and let you know! And oh, do I need to read for the other shelves, or should I just begin with Shifters? :)
I've also been wondering if it matters if a book would already be in a challenge?

Welcome, Rebecca. Laura and the team can let ya know about the other shelves. But, I can tell ya now that you can use books which you are using in another challenge. That's not a problem at all.
Just make sure that you don't start reading the book you choose until after the shelf has been announced. Hope that makes sense.
Okay, that's good to know! And it makes perfect sense :)

I'm gonna read Red-Headed Stepchild, how it meets the Shifter shelf, I'm not sure yet but there it was. I just need to finish Sandman Slim first.
      Thanks Succubus!
I've been looking at options for the different shelves, and I've managed to picked one book for each shelf (for those I've missed also, in case I should read them as well). :)
Vampire romance: Lover Awakened by J.R Ward
Vampires-werewolves: Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Shifters: Pride by Rachel Vincent
Free Space: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione

I'm excited to begin! I've heard a lot of good things about the series, so I'm curious to see if it's as good as it sounds! :)

I haven't read Lover Eternal yet, so I'm even more behind. ;) And I know the feeling! I don't even know why I haven't read it yet, I really loved the first one.
I've checked her series out more than once, and they sound interesting. It's just that I usually prefer other wereanimals than wolves, for some unknown reason. So I'm kind of torn between reading or not.

I can't wait to read it! If it's better than the first one, it should be good.
Ha ha, yeah. I always have it in the back of my mind. You never know, I might just change my mind one day :)

Rebecca & Sabrina Fair, I'm only up to Lover Revealed myself but I know what you both mean when you think everyone else has read BDB. And Mercy Thompson has nearly as many vampires as wolves, and Mercy isn't either one of them, so don't give up the series thinking its just werewolves. It would be a shame to overlook it, because its fabulous!
It's nice to know I'm not the only one! How are you liking the series so far? :)
I know it's not only wolves, which is why I'm kind of torn. But it's been on and of my to-read list forever and I'll probably check it out again later when my pile of new series have become a bit smaller. I'm curious, since I've heard so many recommend it!

Sabrina Fair, I've given the 1st 3 books 5★ each. Lover Awakened is Zsadist & Bella's story and is compelling and IMO even better than Lover Eternal.I started Lover Revealed yesterday and hope to finish it today. It is Butch & Marissa's story and is going very well so far.
I've read all the BDBs--I'm not a huge PNR fan, I'm more of a UF girl, so I'll make fun of the BDBs, but then when the next one comes out, I won't be able to put it down. As much as Ward writes some goofy slang and doesn't use question marks, the woman knows how to grab a reader. :)I just finished her Crave last night and I liked it sooooo much better than Covet. Maybe because Covet was the 1st in a new series, but it just didn't grab me, I had to force myself to finish that one. But Crave was great. Issac & Grier, the 2 romantic leads, were 2 of the best characters I've read in a PNR in awhile. I really liked both of them.
And Rebecca, we don't need you to read any books for the earlier shelves, just the Free Space and the new Shifters shelf. I know Sarah was reading Blood and Chocolate for the Vampire-Werewolf shelf, so as soon as she comes and posts her review, we'll have that stamp.
But...if you do read a book from that shelf and Sarah still hasn't posted her review, knock yourself out. :)
I'm glad to hear that about Crave. I wasn't so into Covet and so have been putting it off. Fingers crossed!

Hi girls, you have some wonderful reads there! I've read all the BDB books too even though I'm more of a UF girl than PR. I like Ward's writing style. Also second the Mercy Thompson suggestion, the series is highly readable. I've read Pleasure Unbound a couple of months ago and love, love, loved it.

Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione 09-11-2010 ★★★★
I usually don't read about demons, so I didn't have a clue about what to expect - except having heard that it was an extremely good series. Picking it up, it took a while until I'd gotten used to the very new world and could focus on the story and characters. Then I really started to enjoy it and in the end I sat most of the night (or early morning) with my nose still buried in it.
I ended up loving the world, characters and all of the grey areas, so much like our real world, where we can't decide who's good or evil based on appearance. Also the hospital for demons - it all kind of made sense. I never knew what was about to happen and even though it took a while for me to get completely into it, when the last page was turned, I could feel that small feeling of loss when I realised I'd finished it. I will definitely continue with this series, I'm intrigued to know more!

YAY! Glad you liked it. That's definitely a favorite series of mine. Bummed it's over, but looking forward to her next one Eternal Rider.

I'm looking forward to the rest of them! Oh, didn't know about that one. I'll have to check it out :)

Haven't even started this series yet and your telling me theirs a spin-off Aye better get off here so I can get to reading. I dont want to be to far behind when the Bleep bleeping starts LOL!!!Don't leave me to far behind Rebecca ;D
I just finished Lover Eternal and Blood Noir, and I noticed they were both on the vampire-werewolves shelf, so I thought I'd post one here to help. (Otherwise it's easy to ignore :))

 Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward 10-11-2010 ★★★★★

This book was even better than the first one! My heart ached for Rhage and Mary thorough the whole book and it even had me on the verge of tears more than once. I love Ward's way of writing and how the story twists and turns, making it almost impossible to guess what's about to happen.
It definitely had my emotions spinning and there were times when I even surprised myself by feeling sorry for Mr. O, one of the lessers. I'm really looking forward to read the next one and to learn more about Zsadist and his story!

      No pressure! :)
I'm still waiting for my book to arrive! It was supposed to arrive before Friday, but for some unknown reason it's late... *sigh*
