Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Just started

Just started and loving it. I'm loving the bitchy man hating going on but realize it must come to an end, it is a romance after all. Hopefully it won't end to soon!

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments I just started that book too, Megan! It is cute so far!

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 170 comments 1/8

I just read Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1) by Maya Banks and I thought it was terrible. I guess just because someone added a book to a list in a group I love doesn't necessarily mean I'll like it.

For the curious, here's why I didn't like it:
Link to Mollie's Review of Colters' Woman

Oh, well, on to the next.

D.G. Great review, Mollie. A lot of people have recommended me that book but it's never given me a good vibe.

I noticed that there is a book on the list that I gave a 1 star rating...so yeah...we're not all going to agree with all of the books on the list, but hopefully we'll experiment a little more and narrow down those of us who are on this group who have similar tastes to our own..which is invaluable to me.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Alycia, I'll be finishing Angel's Blood tonight. It's so, so good!

But I think it's best if we skip the buddy read of A Rake's Guide... everything is up in the air here for awhile and I don't want to hold you up any more.

I plan on finishing it today, that's ok. Things will be busy with me too.

message 363: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Yeah, it's just craziness these past couple weeks. I spent hours down the hill and in traffic to see my grandson, then today we'll be at her house cleaning and getting ready for when they come home. I'll take my book, but no guarantees how much I'll be able to read.

message 364: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 1478 comments I understand. I will finish Angel's Blood then finish my other current read and then jump back into challenge books.

message 367: by Beverly (new)

Beverly | 64 comments I have read these 11 books from from TBR pile. They were in eight different categories. DONE!

Extreme Exposure - Pamela Clare (Book 1 I-Team series)
Hard Evidence - Pamela Clare (Book 2 of the I-Team series)
Unlawful Contact - Pamela Clare (Book 3 of the I-Team series)
Naked Edge - Pamela Clare (Book 4 I-Team Series)

Garden Spells - Sarah Addison Allen
Bitten (Women of the Otherworld #1) - Kelley Armstrong
Soulless - Gail Carrigar
Welcome to Temptation -Jennifer Crusie
Seven Nights of Sin - Lacey Alexander
Slightly Dangerous - Mary Balogh
On the Edge by Ilona Andrews

I would recomend all of them. It was nice to have such a variety this month.

message 368: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments You read 11 books in 5 days?? OhMYLANTA. that's extraordinary!! good for you!! How do you do that?

Were you able to write any reviews? Some of those I want to read to!

message 369: by Beverly (new)

Beverly | 64 comments I have been off work this week (by choice). I do read extremely fast. Normally I average about 4-5 books a week. I read the four Pamela Clare's in one day - they were really good. The others seemed to flow really well and go quickly. Bitten, Soulless and On the Edge took the longest. Garden Spells, Seven Nights of Sin, and Welcome to Temptation only took 1-2 hours each. I was on a role with Mary Balogh's too.

I've never written a book review (since school.) Which ones are you interested in?

message 370: by Beverly (new)

Beverly | 64 comments Just to add, my husband wishes I didn't read so fast. That's probably why I spend too much money on books. On the plus side, my women's group loves my "library."

message 371: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments well, those 4 you read in one day..which says it all I think!

message 381: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I've read the same one's you have. Dom's of Dark Haven had a great short story in it by Cherise and Master of the Abyss just came out, which is Jake's (Logan's brother) story. I want to buy that and read it soon, but like you, I ration her!

I've not read her ... sci-fi? Or PNR? I can't remember, but she has a non-human line I've not yet read.

message 384: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I understand, Judy. I also think that LooseID charges full price, and I can get the books from either fictionwise.com or booksonboard.com less expensively if I'm willing to wait a couple months.

Which works well with the whole rationing plan ;)

I think so, too. I think it is a bit devious for the publisher to assume that most wouldn't know the tie between "these two."
