UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh... gosh, seeing your list reminded me of Ender's Game. What a great game!!!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments It was! When he plays his final "game" I choked up a little! I can't believe what they did to him, een though a tiny ruthless bit inside me understood why!

message 660: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (last edited Nov 25, 2010 03:32PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I agree!!! When you-know-who woke him up in the middle of the night to "play," I knew then what was going on. But you're right... I understood why, completely.

This is probably one of the best books I've read all year, and it's not even a romance. That's saying A LOT.

Same here. I read it for our September Challenge and ended up really loving it for all it wasn't my usual type of book.

message 662: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm so glad you loved it too, Miss Kate. Just goes to show you that sometimes it's a good thing to step outside our comfort zone. At least for me, anyway.

It is, and it was thanks to the "Spell September Challenge" (that's when I joined) that after 6 years of saying "I'll read it soon", I finally did.

message 664: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments That's one of the things I love about "the list" the ladies in this group created. It's only the very favorites, and it encourages me to read books I have but haven't read.

I'm just in awe of Ender's Game. What a loss it would have been to not have read it.

I finally finished!!!!! Ah, it took a while, but I finally got around to finishing the book. I don't know if I will be able to read another book because there are other interests that must be met (life intrudes again). But I'm glad that I was finally able to complete the challenge.

^_^

Thank you. Thank you. *bows*

Seriously, if I didn't have other obligations, I would have read more for this challenge. Alas, life has other ideas, so I'm only doing what I can, given the time that I have during the month. And I really tried so hard to get a lot done so that I can focus on finishing this book.

It is probably one of the best books I have read this year as well, that and The Hunger Games, I don't know if that says something quite horrible about me, that I like books where children are being put in torturous circumstances!!!

Thst is the great thing about challenges, espeically this one, they get you to look at books that you might other wise over look!

message 693: by Tonya (new)

Tonya (_tonya_) So, I finished my challenge and decided to go back for one more dish. I had chosen #6 Jack Devlin’s Devine Delectables. I'm fairly new to Lisa Kleypas books and have only read the Hathaway series so far. I decided that since I hadn't picked a Kleypas book for this Kleypas group challenge that maybe I should pick one as my extra. I blindly picked Suddenly You since that was a standalone book on this list. To my surprise, that is Jack Devlin's book. I so didn't know that going in! Yay, I'm so excited! I'm about 30% through it and I am LOVING it!!! It has been wonderful from the first paragraph!
