Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Her Restless Heart by Barbara Cameron is on NetGalley! First in her new series, releasing in April :)

Diane U (djuseless) Got it! Thanks for mentioning it!

Got it too! Thanks!

message 404: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Just cleaned out my Net Galley books. I had so many that I needed to decline some to make the list accomplishable. My new year's revolution is to only request books that I know I will read in a timely fashion!!!

message 405: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments I am with you on that Diane!!

message 406: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I really need to not request every book I like the look of, I have soooo many. I've stopped requesting non-Christian books now just because I tend to focus on the ones from inspirational publishers automatically. I'm awful with non-fiction as well :P The only problem is that sometimes someone from TCM asks if I can review a book that's not on my list and my schedule has to be rejigged again. I seriously redo my schedule once a week! LOL.

message 407: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I kind of had to clean out my kindle. When I transferred them from my K2 to my K3, there was a problem with lots of the books because it seemed like it was a different user. So when I went to send the copy to my kindle, the books were not available. I have only 6 reviews to do now insread of 22!

I'm only going to request Amish books next year! I enjoy those the most so I might as well save some money by reviewing them!

message 408: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I have declined some books after accepting them because I just accumulated too many. I have not noticed any changes to my approvals (yet).

I thought about just choosing Amish Fiction, but I would have missed a lot of great books last year if I did that. lol I got too many too though.

message 410: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Jodie wrote: "Diane, I wanted to do that too, but was nervous it would mess up my approval ratings. You know, maybe I would get rejected more often. Have you done this before? Just curious."

This is what I'm worried about too! I've rejected some books from Barbour when I hadn't reviewed them long after the release date and had no problems. But I have declined some reviews from HarperCollins for their general, non-Christian fiction and then found myself getting rejected from their inspirational line, Avon Inspire, so I'm not sure if this is linked or not? I remember a few of us got rejected for Shelley Shepard Gray's latest book.

I was rejected to get "The Survivor" but have been approved to get "A Texan's Honor". Go figure.

Did you see that Barbara Cameron's Her Restless Heart is available?

Isn't "A Texan's Honor" by Abingdon Press? I know that it's under a different name so I think it might be a different publisher?

Yes, I grabbed that one! Excited for her new series :)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Harvest House publishers put a whole load of new Amish books up today! And a really interesting looking mystery about the Titanic from Mindy Starns Clark.

message 417: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Oooh, I just saw all those titles listed on an email from Christian Books and added them to my wish list this morning. See wishes do come true! LOL!

They are:

1) The Wings of Morning by Murray Pura
2) To Love and to Cherish by Kelly Irvin
3) Missing Your Smile by Jerry S. Eicher
4) An Amish Family Reunion by Mary Ellis

I know, it seems weird to release them all at once...it makes it difficult for all of us reviewers to review them on time, LOL!

message 420: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments I was able to get all 4 too!!!!

message 421: by Maureen (new)

Maureen Timerman | 33 comments Thanks for the heads up!! I got all of the Amish ones I requested and the Mindy Starns Clark one. I had to request Return to Grace several times and write them...and finally got it!

message 422: by Cheri (new)

Cheri (sharebear) Do you have to have a blog to sign up for Net Galley?

message 423: by Angela (new)

Angela Holland (bookaunt) I just requested my first books from here for my kindle. It is taking awhile for them to download did anyone else have a problem the first time downloading

message 424: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) Cheri wrote: "Do you have to have a blog to sign up for Net Galley?"

I believe so! Just create one for free on Blogger. After it is created, post the address here and we will all become followers. Some publishers like lots of followers to let you review their books.

Maureen Timerman | 33 comments Cheri wrote: "Do you have to have a blog to sign up for Net Galley?"

They can be picky as to who gets their books...they are ARC's and given to people who they believe will give them the most publicity...its like free advertising...only you get the book. It is easy to set up a blog ...first I post here and them carry it over to my blog. Hope this helps!

You're welcome! I've never reviewed for them before but I know they published Kimberly Stuart's Amish novel which we read for a group read a while back.

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments Question...the new amish books available on Netgalley...are they part of a series or do they stand alone? I dont want to start reading one if it is in the middle of a series...Thanks=]

message 430: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) From what I've seen, the recent ones have been #1 in a series or standalones.

message 431: by Mary (new)

Mary O'Brien (nickswifey) | 50 comments Thanks:)

message 432: by Cheri (new)

Cheri (sharebear) Thanks Maureen I don't have a blog, but I might start one. I love to read!

message 433: by Maureen (new)

Maureen Timerman | 33 comments I've only had a blog for not quite a year. You can start by putting your reviews here on Goodreads and they actually give it all to you to post on your blog ...including the cover. Good Luck!

Mary wrote: "Question...the new amish books available on Netgalley...are they part of a series or do they stand alone? I dont want to start reading one if it is in the middle of a series...Thanks=]"

I thought they were all stand alones. The Mary Ellis one has characters from her other books, but I learned this from a review, I have only read one other Mary Ellis book and the names did sound familiar.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I added My Dearest Naomi for you, here's the link:

Let me know if you have any trouble with it, it's still not showing up when I search for it so maybe it'll just take a while to appear.
