I'm sure I will -- I've so enjoyed the first two!

Has anyone been approved by NetGalley to read The Survivor by Shelley Shepard Gray? I've requested it twice and still have not heard anything.
I think that with the last couple of books they had of her's on there it took forever to get approved.

I'm still waiting for approval too!

Thanks for mentioning it! I got it! Also the second book is called Miriam's Heart and it is a Love Inspired book so it is reasonably priced!

Avon Inspire usually take a few weeks to respond, I think they get a lot of requests as they're part of HarperCollins and that's a rather large publishing company.
I'm thinking about buying Miriam's Heart, although one of my friends said she's sure it's out of print in paperback? I'm sure I saw it on Amazon a few days ago. Maybe she got mixed up with something else...
I was turned down by NetGalley to read The Survivor? Can I request a second time?
Do they ever tell you why you were declined?

I did too! I am going to re-request it! Thomas Nelson has done that before to me and I've gotten approved on the second try.

Especially since they gave me the first 2. Anyone else?

I got turned down, again, for The Survivor. Here's the email I got...

If anyone does get accepted, let us know what your secret is!

I emailed Shelley about our being turned down after having gotten the first two books and having numerous reviews many places.
This was her reply... Dear Barbara, thank you for letting me know! I'll forward this on to the folks at Harper Collins. I so appreciate you taking the time to review my books. Shelley
I didn't know if it would do any good, but at least she's aware of our intentions.

I'm not really upset I was declined, after all they have the right to approve or disprove an..."
Yeah this is how I feel too. Just want to know if in the future to not bother requesting if they have changed there requirements.

But hey...they're missing out on all of our wonderful reviews! :)

I was declined by Harlequin for Anna's Gift by Emma Miller. Here's my letter...

You may want to update your profile to provide more information to the publisher, and try requesting the title again. If you are confident that you should be approved for galleys, please reply to this e-mail and the Publisher will get back to you as soon as possible.
Example of what to include in your profile: -a direct link to your book review blog (general life bloggers, infrequent bloggers, and new bloggers will be declined. 100 or more followers is preferred).
-a direct link to your Good Reads, Amazon, and/or LibraryThing profile page (must have over 100 reviews on any one of these services).
-If you are a librarian, the name and address of the library you work at.
-If you are a bookseller, the name and address of the bookstore you work at. If you need further clarification, please visit our full publisher preferences: http://www.netgalley.com/about/publis...
I don't have a big following, so I guess Harlequin is out for me. :-( I guess I'll have to buy this one.

Question for everyone... The last few I've read from NetGalley had no capitalization at the beginning of sentences and some names weren't capitalized either. Is this normal or is it just my kindle?

I'm giving it another request. Why not. What could happen? We've already had an earthquake this week and are now waiting for the hurricane to hit!

Hey, I had/will have the same weather issues are you this week but I can add 2 tornadoes in MA in 2 months! At work, people are saying if locuses starting coming that they are out of here!
Anyways, I requested The Survivor for a third time too! Maybe they'll just approve it so I will stop asking! LOL!

I've had this with a few books, but not all of them. I think maybe it's caused by a glitch when the publisher puts the book into Kindle format. I think Thomas Nelson often have this problem?
Woo, go Camille! I reckon it must be to do with who handles the book approvals, like you say. Maybe we should keep bugging them until they accept :P
