Where do I go to find Tools_v3.2 (http://www.datafilehost.com/download-929...) so I can convert for my kindle?

Oh, it looks like the file no longer exists :( there should a file entitled "Tools_v3.2" on that page that you download to your computer but it's not there anymore.

Do we know when NetGalley will be bringing back to the Kindle button? If it's fairly soon you could always wait. If not, I can see if I can upload the file from my computer on to a file-sharing website, or email it to you if it's not too big.

Here is the responce I got from the publisher about The Caregiver and The Protector:
Hi Lorie,

I was told you have 30 days after you download the galley to read it on your device,

so you should be fine with posting a review and reading the galleys, etc.

If you do experience any problems, let me know.

Rachel, the Kindle button is back, but not for every book. I just downloaded four Kindle netgalley books, so right now it's kind of hit and miss, but it is back somewhat.

I just received an email from NetGalley saying that the Kindle button is back!!! Yeah, no more coverting with Calibre!

There are still some publishers not using the Kindle button though, so we'll still maybe have to convert a few books here and there.

Well I did not get approved for it. That's the first book in a looong time that I have not gotten approved for on Netgalley hmmm. and they did not give me a reason either. hmmm...

Hmm, interesting. I recently got rejected by Thomas Nelson for a book despite being on their "accredited reviewers" list because I review for TCM. It was really odd, but maybe NetGalley is glitching like it was with Lorie. I'll have to try again.

I think it is Shelly Shepard Gray because in the author's description it mentions her first book Hidden was nominated for the Inspirational Readers Choice award.

Wonder why she choose to not use her middle name. It makes it look like its by a different author on goodreads.

According to the Harper Collins website it doesn't have the book listed to her. Doesn't mean it isn't her, but maybe it isn't.

Maybe because she's with a different publisher? Abingdon rather than Avon.

She has the cover of the book on her facebook page, its definately her book. It's just going to be really hard on Goodreads because it will not be listed with her other books because of the name difference.

I can merge the author profiles. Do you think that should be done? Or should it be left alone?

If it's definitely her book then I think it would be a good idea. If she was obviously writing under a pen name then it would seem that she'd want the books separated, but since the name is so similar, the blurb mentions her Amish novels and she's posted the book on her Facebook page I'd say go for it.

I asked her on her facebook page why she choose to leave out her middle name in her new Western, she usually answers so we shall see, but its definatelly her book.

Let's wait to see if you get a response, Lorie, and if it seems like changing the author name would be in line with why she chose to leave out her middle name, we can change the author profile on here.

I know that some authors who right under more than one name have their names linked together. For example, Meg Cabot also writes under Patricia Cabot and Jenny Carroll. I don't know how you link the profiles, but when you click on them it tells you that it's the same author.

Well here's her response. She was not allowed to use her full name per request of Harper Collins, I think she still has a contract with them. So, with this new publisher she decided to leave her middle name out. That's probably how it should be on Goodreads so she does not get in trouble with her publisher, but I think linking would be nice.

Hmm, interesting. I didn't know certain publishers wanted authors to use a name exclusively with them. Intriguing! But yeah, if we can link the two names together (as on Meg Cabot's profile) it'll be handy for her fans to know what other books she's written with different publishers. Anyone want to investigate? I became a librarian the other day but I'm still at the baby stages of doing these sorts of things.
