Got it, Mountie. (If you're trying to merge the most popular into the second most popular, you don't actually need to separate them: the merge goes onto the most popular edition other than the one deleted, so everything shifts down just fine.)

Yes -- always combine before deleting! The only reason to separate is if you have to merge into an edition which isn't the most popular: then you separate out the bad edition and its correct version, but you still combine those two before deleting the bad one (and then recombine the good edition with the rest of the book after).

(By the way, we call it "combining" when you're linking the records as editions of the same book; we don't use "merging" until one edition is deleted and its reviews are shifted onto another edition. Wacky terminology, I know!)

Cait Thanks for the quick work. Sorry bout leaving the link off, I see Rivka got it. That should be the last of the Guinness ones I need help with. I fixed all of the misspellings I could find, and left the one alone that was misspelled on the cover:) I am still working on combining Guinness world record books which is where this all started.
