So I have seen this thread introduced in other groups, and I thought, 'What a great Idea'.. so I freely admit.. Ima a HUGE copy cat.. but I don't care.. Great Ideas are worthy copying... So...

This is the folder.. where we can chat about.. everything, Anything..to our crazy hearts desire..

Questions... comments... dreams... blind dates.. fanstasies.. problems.. solutions.. things were greatful for.. Random thoughts.. It dont matter..

Just a word of caution.. It may (and I hope it does) get a little crazy, possibly suggestive among these parts.. cause we are (for the most part) a collective group of unique and awesome personalities.. that often don't hold back in conversation.. I personally think it's RAD..(YES, I just used the word RAD, In a desperate attempt to hold on to my rapidly diminishing youth)

So have at er crazy Chicks..

Leea okay so i'm reading City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare got it from the library and it's smells like cigarette smoke... WTF!! I'm super sensitive to scents of any kind... I mean no offense to those who smoke - i could care less but on my Library book. This could be hard reading because it's already giving me a headache...

Thanks for letting me VENT...

I love this group - i look forward to seeing your comments and what everyone is reading so much... it makes it easier for me to handly my life sometimes :)

message 4: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It's funny that you say that, Leea. I'm just getting over the flu and my throat is still tight and senstive and our cleaning crew is working around me, they smell like cigarette smoke so strongly that I feel like I'm choking. I can't stop coughing. (They aren't literally around me at this moment, able to read over my shoulder. I'm not that much of a b*tch, hahaha.)

message 5: by Leea (new)

Leea Ha! I knew you would understand my pain :) Wow i cannot believe all that's happening in Japan and now the Coast of CA. I live in the Central Valley of California. I was watching the news and my 5 year old was asking so many questions and like me he's get's upset when people are hurt of sad. So i had to turn it off. You try explaining "an earthquake" to a 5 & 3 year old... Whewww!!

message 6: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It is awful what is happening over there. My cousin moved to Japan a year ago to teach English. I'm so thankful that he's okay. He says they haven't had much devastation where he's at.

message 7: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm so glad your cousin is okay :) it's sure makes you feel like the world is not that large anymore.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) My husband and I spent some time over in Japan when he was sent over there to work for 6 months, and I love the country. The news saddens me. We aren't close to his family over there, but he does have family over there, so I hope they're okay.

Leea,

That stinks about the book. If it bothers you that bad, I wouldn't force reading the thing. Really wish you had an ereader because I have the whole series in ebook form to share.

message 9: by Leea (new)

Leea I don't know why i have not bought one yet... I still don't know which one i want. Plus i'm the person who buys ereader and the next day 7 new ones come out that have way more memory etc. I know it's crazy! I'll stick with it and read fast. Oh thanks you are so sweet!

message 10: by Leea (new)

Leea Is it just me or did the Home page for goodreads change?? I don't like it at all... My home page used to be my groups now it's all the books i've read and peoples comments. UHHH I hate change - can you tell.

I noticed, Leea. You can change it to show your groups only...just click groups, right next to showing. :)

message 12: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Once you do that you'll go back to your groups, but it's still not the same. I miss the old way too.

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 438 comments Is it bad that I haven't really noticed a difference?

message 14: by Leea (new)

Leea Once I posted this I saw that D. G. Ha!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm such a creature of comfort. It bothers me when simple interfaces are changed and they seem more fussy than before.

message 16: by Leea (new)

Leea I did get in quite a huff... i'm better now :) LOL!

message 17: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 438 comments Oh same here Stacia I went on a five minute coversation when they changed the tub of toothpaste I use...

message 18: by Leea (new)

Leea What bothers me is that each time I hit 'home' I've got 'put everything back' to where it was. Uhhh.

Side note - we are on a mini day trip driving thru the Delta in N Cali. I already want to jump ship! It's really beautiful here.

message 19: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 438 comments Haha lucky, enjoy the pretty weather!

message 20: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 01, 2011 02:48PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That is a very pretty area Leea. My ex boyfriend's family used to go camping all over the place there, and we'd often rent party boats for the day.

message 21: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah, It was a beautiful day for sure. Everything is in bloom here and it's killing me (allergies ha!). We go over 10 bridges and the boys were in heaven. Our house is right on the Delta so we know all about those party boats - they look like fun!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) My husband just got home early from work and tried to tell me he got laid off.

Luckily, I had just finished reading a topic about April Fool's Day pranks so I was prepared.

message 23: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 438 comments thats not a good prank!

message 24: by Leea (new)

Leea Not a good prank at all... That's happened to us a few times in the past... like when my oldest was just day's old - crazy!!

My husband posted on Facebook... "the Planks are moving again. Got a job in Canada - see ya!" Everyone was so upset and then they figured it was a joke. He's suck a dork!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He spent a good portion of last year between jobs and we got close to losing our house, so the thought of him being unemployed again is not a good feeling. I'm just glad that I figured it out immediately.

message 26: by Ottilie (new)

Ottilie (ottilie_weber) | 438 comments That is scary he is very lucky you don't kill him for that

message 27: by Leea (new)

Leea Now that's just not funny at all... Tell him he's taking you out for a nice dinner and a bottle of wine for that :)

message 28: by Ottilie (new)

message 29: by Leea (new)

Leea And a shopping trip or more ebooks :) That'll teach him LMAO!!

message 30: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Apr 02, 2011 12:02AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) He's taking me to lunch tomorrow of his own suggestion. I may purchase an ebook or two this weekend though, just because!

Maybe...
Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione or Sweet Valley Confidential Ten Years Later by Francine Pascal

message 31: by Leea (new)

Leea You guys are cracking me up with this SVH books. I never read them growing up... Yeah, i'm sure your book supply is getting low ;)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I've actually been very good with sticking to what I have already and not making purchases anymore unless it's a new release I don't want to wait for.

Although, I did just buy an indie book that my friend published, but you gotta support your friends of course. :)

message 33: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I got it on my Kindle too, lol. I can't wait to read it!

message 34: by Leea (new)

Leea Ladies... My TBR list just hit 500 ~ Save me!!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I started weeding some out last week and then promptly added more. It's like a hoarder doing spring cleaning and then going for a shopping spree.

message 36: by Leea (new)

Leea I really need to weed some out :)

I have a question. I have my books in different categories, like Paranormal Romance, Series, Historical Fiction etc. But when I've read the book and then placed it into my 'Read' section the book still remains in the category I placed it in. Do I need to remove it from that 'category'?? Thanks! Ultimately I would like my 'read' books only in the 'read' section that way I can tell what's left to read. Hope this makes sense I feel like i'm going in circles. lol!

message 37: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Yeah, I think you need to actually remove them from those catagories. I do it the opposite way, haha. I keep everything in my TBR folder, after I read it I put it into my read folder, my year folder, and it's series folder if it has one. I also have a 'owned' folder so that I can scroll through my TBR folder and see what I've already purchased.

message 38: by Leea (new)

Leea Maybe that a better way of doing it. Heck, I don't know what i'm doing half the time. I might just remove the categories after i've read it. I find it helps me when shopping for books to have them in those categories. Thanks Wendy!

message 39: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh Wendy, We had our book club meeting and I did not read the book this time, I always read the book but got wrapped up in LU. It was the worst one ever - no one wanted to discuss the book - uhh!! Next we are reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

message 40: by Gwennie (last edited Apr 03, 2011 08:06PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) What book were you supposed to read?

message 41: by Leea (new)

message 42: by Leea (new)

Leea Oh man... Husband just got home from work and said "why don't you just go up and get that eReader from Barnes & Noble you wanted." I don't think i've ever moved so fast...hehe!! off to get a Nook Color!! I'm so excited :)

message 43: by Ladyhawk (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments Wow Leea! Lucky lady. I think that husband of yours is a keeper!!

message 44: by Leea (new)

Leea Yes he is!! He was asking me why I was not reading off my Nook last night... Uh I need to buy some books...LOL!! Plus I have a ton of paper book to read.

message 45: by Ladyhawk (last edited Apr 05, 2011 04:31PM) (new)

Ladyhawk | 381 comments I need to buy some books

Ya that helps huh! Same here! I first downloaded all the free ones I was interested in. lol Like Bram Stokers Dracula, can't believe that was free. Been wanting to read that forever, and then a couple of Jane Eyre.

Have fun, ereaders are dangerous. I think they are like cell phones, you're always wanting the latest and greatest! eeek!

message 46: by Leea (new)

Leea I'm so excited... I just signed up for my first Half Marathon in October, Nike Women's Marathon in SF - It's a lottery so I hope I get it. Yay!!!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Wow, good luck. :)

Our local radio station had a gal from the library on the live morning show. She was excitedly telling all the listeners that since Merritt's library is so progressive and ahead of the times regarding all things book related, they're now the first location to carry the "NEW AND GREATLY ANTICIPATED LEFT-HANDED NOVELS".

Embarrassingly, I have to admit that it took me a couple of minutes to realize this was an April Fools joke. I was stopped at the light pantomiming turning pages with my left hand versus my right... probably looking like a complete fool.

Excellent!

message 49: by Gwennie (last edited Apr 13, 2011 11:01AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hahahaha!! Stacia! That's so funny. I love when I make sill little 'oops' moments like that.

I work for a shipping warehouse and once I saw this contraption out in our packing room. I asked a friend what it was and she told me it was a peanut dispenser... okay, can I just say that for like 5 minutes I was completely affronted that the warehouse got to eat peanuts while they were working... 5 whole minutes before I realized it was for PACKING peanuts!

message 50: by Leea (new)

Leea LMAO Wendy!! I have those moments to!!
