Here is what I'm going to put. Let me know if you have some corrections/ suggestions about it...:

"Read a book that has one of the following types of weather in it: rain, sunny, snow."

Yeah that is fine, but it should still be 11 books right (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010)? I know you will want to word it differently, but will we want them to read that many.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) This is what I have:

"To honour the last 11 years, erad a book published in each year of the last decade (200, 2001, 2002,.... 2010)."

Sounds good.

seems fine...if you want you could say also an option is to have the weather dictated on the cover.

Jessica (JessfromTex) | 31 comments Oooh I love the decade idea and the winter idea!

An idea I saw in another group is:

" Thank You Moderators:
We wouldn't have this great group without our moderators. As a thank you to them, read TWO BOOKS that were read by a moderator of the group in 2010. The books can be from the same moderator or you can read two bokos from two different mods. REQUIRED: Tell which moderator(s) list(s) you chose from."

I thought that was a good idea:)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) ooh i love that one!!!

message 58: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle That is a great one.

Haha you must be in the same group I am in because I currently have The Book Thief and Susannah's Garden set up for that one in the SRC.

message 60: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle I had an idea that we can read a book which is origionally published in the year of our birth.

I second that!

message 62: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) These are all some ah-mazing ideas! :D. These are probably all going to be used in the March - August period, however. Is that okay with you girls?

message 63: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Thats fine :D

message 64: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) We already have 9 tasks, 8 of which you all came up with! So I'd really like to send a ginormous "THANK YOU" shout out to all of you :).

message 65: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Wow that was very ginormous!

message 66: by Zakiya (last edited Dec 12, 2010 07:38AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL! Well you all deserve it. If it weren't for y'all, I wouldn't have any tasks ideas for Mar - Aug :D.

I thought of another...

Read (1, 2, 3?) books where there is a person on the cover with their back to you. Here is a link to help:Backs to the Reader

message 68: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I'm thinking 3 books. What point range, though? I'm thinking either 15 or 20.

Wonderful! Will add it to my list :). Thanks, Meghan!

message 69: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
I think 20 since it is a 3 book task.

message 70: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
Here is one that could be used for the 50 point challenge:

Read 5 books that were nominated for the Goodreads 2010 Reader's Choice.

message 71: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Thats a good one!

message 72: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I like that one, too! Adding it to the list. We can only have three 50-point tasks at once, so only room for one more! :D One more spot for a 100-point task.

message 73: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
To make it a teeny bit harder you could say that they could all be from different categories or you could use it as a 100 point task and make it more books if you want.

message 74: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Nahh, I will keep it at 50 points, but I will say that they have to be chosen from different categories, and they should tell which category they chose from. Do you think that's good, or too strict?

message 75: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
No way very reasonable!

message 76: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Haha, I just know that sometimes I can overdo it. Thanks for the awesome idea, Meghan! :D

message 77: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle It is!

message 78: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) :D

message 79: by Jenny (last edited Dec 26, 2010 07:35AM) (new)

Jenny (jennyauer) I have an idea for a task, sometimes I think life in general is one step forward and two steps back. For the task, read three books one futuristic and two historical! for 20 points

message 80: by Zakiya (last edited Dec 26, 2010 10:18AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) That's a really good one! Nice creativity, Jenilyn! :D I will add it to my list :). I am going to make it 25 points, though, because we already have three 20's. That okay?

message 81: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (jennyauer) sure thing Z! I'm glad you like it.

message 82: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Wow great philosophical thinking

message 83: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) @Jenilyn: I'm glad you thought of it! :)

@Nicolle: I agree.

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
I was also thinking of something like that.

message 85: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Well at least all of us are on the same page! :D

message 86: by Zakiya (last edited Jan 09, 2011 08:43AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) If anyone wants to come up with some more task ideas for Mar. - Aug., there are only a few slots open. These are what we can fill in:

~5.2 and 5.3
~10.3
~35.2 and 35.3

These are the only slots left, so please adjust your tasks to where they aren't over the top for a "low" amount of points. Thanks!

message 87: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) I was thinking for 10.3 maybe two books that were Newberry Award winners? And for 35.2 read at least 3 books in a single series?

message 88: by Zakiya (last edited Jan 02, 2011 07:24PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Those are really good! We need to find a list to link to for the Newberry winners, though. And for the series, I'm going to say 4 books. That okay?

message 89: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Okay, nevermind! I was able to find an accurate list of all the Newbery winners since they started giving the award. Thanks for the awesome task ideas, Angel! :D

How about for a 5 point task read 2-3 books that are less than 150 pages? (REQUIRED: No children's picture books.)

message 91: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) Thanks! And yeah, 4 would be a good number. :)

I like that one! Adding that one now. Thanks, Meghan! :D

@Angel: No problem!

message 93: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle 5 points for read or re-reading a book you or someone you know studied at school?

message 94: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) That's a good onw. I will add it to the list :)

message 95: by Zakiya (last edited Jan 09, 2011 08:43AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Only space left is 35.3! :)

message 96: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle erm...read the books which are number 20 and 11 (for 2011) on your to-read list?

message 97: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) That's a good one, Nicolle! Thanks for filling that last space. Thanks to all of you for giving your ideas. :DDDD

message 98: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte I've had an idea.
How about reading 5 books, one each from each of the following continents:
America (North, South or Central), Europe (can include UK), Asia, Africa, Australia
The book can be set in the continent, or the author can be from there.

message 99: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
Nice Idea we will use that one for Sept 2011-Feb 2012

message 100: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I like that one, too. Will definitely use it in the next session :)
