There's a ritual performed over Shadowhunter babies when they are born that confers on them certain protections. This just wouldn't be possible.

Thankyou! "
Ah, oops. I'm going to say Will. You'll just have to wait to find out why.

I just wanted to thank you so much for answering all of our questions! With your amazing book release schedule, I really appreciate that you took the time to go through all of our questions. Can't wait find the answer to all of those spoiler questions in your upcoming books!
Thanks again, Tracy (:

Magnus secretly likes Alec's really ratty sweaters?"
Awww :) reading that made my studying-for-chem a much easier mountain to climb.
Thank you so, so infinitely much for answering all of these questions :). I absolutely adored Clockwork Angel (and of course tMI too, but CA is the one I'm currently obsessed with) and reading these was much fun.
Glad to hear you like Will more than Jace, since I do too! :)
Thanks so much! And thank you for bringing these brilliant books to us :D

"if Church is something disguised as a cat to be in the Institute to destroy it from the inside then he is playing a really long game. He has been the Institute's cat for 140 years and hasn't done anything sinister."
Yes but cat's are known for their patience. And i personally think cat's are always up to something...

"[Cassie:] Oh, character names change all the time. Remember those earlier blurbs date from a time when City of Glass wasn’t finished, so Ragnor Fell wasn’t Ragnor Fell. He had some other last name. When I settled on Fell for him, I changed Tessa’s last name so no one would think there was a connection. Also there’s a reason her last name is so close to Clary’s false last name, Fray."
Google does wonders if you want to ask questions that have already been asked. ;)

I dont have any horses im just making a simple statement for the 30th time. :)

When Will came to live at the institute he brought the Pyxis with him.His parents came for him and he hid. My question is did something happen with the Pyxis to make him leave to the institute? And does Pyxis have to do with the way Will is and all the secrets?

That, is a pretty stupid question. It's obviously going to be answered in one of the following books. If you get told everything then there's nothing left to learn in the following books. In a series you have to answer some questions but also create more at the same time until the series end. Otherwise it would be somewhat boring, might as well not be part of the same series and just be another book.
I agree that the question will likely be answered later, but there's no reason to call the question stupid.

Okay, yeah, I can see that. It's not a question she would answer. It's hard, through the internet, to really get someone's tone. Sometimes, their words sound harsher than they mean for them to.

Exactly. The inflection in your tone can completely change the way something is taken :).

But how on earth that you know it was Tessa, does Magnus ever say that it was Tessa our does everybody just decided that it was Tessa because she look like her. Wow Cassie never answer the question about Tessa Fell ... I would have love to know.
Hi Koumamo :).
We never knew for certain it was Tessa until Cassandra Clare confirmed it during one of the discussions :). I think she said she originally wanted to use Fell for Tessa's last name, but changed her mind later.

Cassie just told me that Tessa is not related to Fell in any way !! But when you said we never knew it was Tessa are you talking about the name or are you talking about the girl in the white gown.
I was talking about the girl in the white dress. There's no indication in COG who she is, but Clare later confirmed it was Tessa.
I just meant the last name "Fell" was something she thought about in the beginning, but decided against later on. Though, I could be wrong on that, and if I am, feel free to correct me :).

I don't know about international release dates, but I'll search around for it, and let you know :).
I think you meant City of Glass :). Well, I think we had already determined that Tessa was immortal...but we have no confirmation about Will or Jem. They might be immortal...or they might not. Most humans don't die at exactly the same time, but they can still have a relationship. So, basically, even if Tessa is immortal and the boy she chooses isn't...they could still have a life together :).
I don't know about Clary finding her familiar, but I have a theory about it...:)

I am impressed to see this discussion continuing on without me! Candace, you're doing a good job fielding questions! For the person who said I should shut off the q and a since I'm not answering questions - believe me I would if I could figure out how . . .

Oh, and as for turning it off, I think, since you are a moderator, you can go open the topic and beside the title will be "edit". From there, I think you can turn off the topic.

I love your books but im comused which one is TMI & which one is MI and also do we know if Tessa actualy is a warlock or is she somethin else?
I don't understand the first part of your question. Do you mean which is TMI (The Mortal Instruments) and which is TID (Infernal Devices)?
We don't know what Tessa is yet, but someone in the book made a remark that she lacks the mark of a warlock.

And Magnus believes she is a warlock.
I think he thinks she is, but I think Clare said Tessa is a new type of Downworlder we haven't met, yet.

That'd be so gross and cool! Ugh! I like your theory...!
But why not Mrs. Black? She was nicer to Tessa, anyway...
