Lori Baldi I splurged a little myself although not on such a large scale as Valerie. I bought a 3some on Amazon yesterday that I've been waiting for too long:

Galway Bay and

The Invisible Mountain and

The Siege of Krishnapur. A little eclectic though.

Oh, AUDIBLE! I've got credits and a gift voucher!

Four Fires is one of my favourite Bryce Courtenay books, with an excellent narrator - enjoy!

I have The Orchardist on my "Possible new release" list for August. I have challenged to read one new published book a month. I'm behind and just reading June's now.

I haven't won a giveaway in a long time. *sniff*

I took a cursory look at the BOGO sale and will go back and take a deeper look before it ends. I didn't see Four Fires and I would be interested in that one. I wondered about The Secret Servant, but I haven't read the first book in the series so should likely do that before I get later ones.

In case you aren't aware... to link a book, click on the "add book/author" link above. You can search for a book and then click on "add" to post a link in your message. We like linked books because it makes it easier to investigate.

Anna Dressed in Blood was offered in audiobook format for free downloads by SYNC last month. All summer they are offering two books each week. Once the week is up, the books are no longer available. I've picked up a couple of books that I've had on my wishlist.

I have The Orchardist release date written on my calendar. It looks like a pretty good read, both my mom and I are looking forward to it.

Danielle Prabaharan There is a sale on at the bookstore right now, 3 classics for $10! So I bought 6. I bought The Great Gatsby, which I read last night and absolutley loved! I also bought A Journey To The Center Of The Earth which I plan to read on my 6 hour bus ride today. Also, Gulliver's Travels, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, The Woman in White

If you are doing the Rainbow Challenge, The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald will fit for indigo. That is my selection. I don't know about the others, but they may fit it as well.

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments I indulged at Audible's BOGO sale (though not as much as Shirley). I got The Yard and Sanctus.

For free Kindle books, this is a great site: http://www.jungle-search.com/US/kindl...

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments Those all look like interesting reads, Judy!

I pre-ordered The Orchardist for my August New Release challenge. I'm getting behind - just now reading June's new release.

message 930: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments That was the whole point of making this challenge for myself. Whenever I see those "best books of the year" lists, I rarely have even heard of them let alone have read them. So this year, I thought I'd educate myself.

Probably a great idea! :)

The books I got were part of a set, similar to the Penguin Classics, so unfortunatley I dont have the same cover as the one showing. But thanks for the tip! :)

Janice (jamasc) | 60012 comments Danielle, for the Rainbow challenge (and the Rainbow challenge only), you may count the book if there is a cover that is predominantly the colour of the task. It doesn't need to be the edition you read.
