To Splurge or Not To Splurge
Good picks Stacy! Read most of those and own a couple.Daffodil, I've bought all the Cassie Palmers too but haven't gotten around to reading them yet either.
Sandra, you should join me (and a couple others) over here. I'm challenging myself to read two full series. >:)
I love seeing all your hauls and looking at which ones are later in the series because it means that series is probably really good. If you all like this stuff type in In My Mailbox or IMM on youtube. :) It is a book haul tag thing.
Sandra wrote: "Yeah I saw that Steph, was just deciding which series to list. There are so many......"No kidding!
Grabbed a few eBooks .... :)
Merry Christmas to Meeeee! :)
* I haven't forgotten about the 10% BD coupons! I'll be placing an order there soon too.
Sandra wrote: "Oh,
is one of my favourites. Hope you like it :)"Sounds interesting. Added to the list.
Vivian, just be aware that it is a novella & "raunchy".Wouldn't like you to be shocked if you're not used to that kind of thing. :)
Sandra wrote: "Oh,

I'm thinking of joinin' in on AV's "Dirty Dozen" challenge in 2011 and making one of my 12 eBooks (those offered in eformat only) b/c I have more than I can remember and they seem to get lost on my eReader.

Thanks. I hope you do join in if you haven't already. :) Gotta read those ebooks. I know what you mean. So many of them get lost when you buy new ones and forget you have 9999 books you haven't read :-P
My little haul this week:
My bf bought me from Border's and later said. "I was gonna surprise you and get you that for Christmas..." OOPS! :-PAnd I picked up
at the thrift store for my last book freebie. They aren't doing it anymore. :(On a side note... Has anyone noticed that Infinite Days has 2 different covers at Borders? One is shiny like a shimmer over the whole cover and the other is completely matte except for the glossy eyes and tears. I got the shiny one. :-P
Vivian wrote: "I kinda did that, have an "ebook freebies" category. So I should read at least 12 next year!"I thought I'd noticed someone else doing that. We'll knock off some together then. :)

I like this kind of thinking. :) Maybe I will do the same kind of challenge every year... with different categories each time. :)
Possiblity:
"2nd Annual Dirty Dozen Challenge
12 first in series books
12 second in series books
12 ebook freebies
12 paper books any genre
12 complete a series books (most recently published book in a series... yes this one is a bit evil. :) ) "
For some reason I have a Love / Hate relationship with the Anita Blake vampire books. I have read several of the newer ones and decided to get some of the earlier books. I found some of the compilations cheap on Amazon as used books. I just got them and they aren't used at all. I don't think anyone has ever even opened them!I got:
which has in it:Guilty Pleasures,The Laughing Corpse and Circus of the Damned (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #3)
which has in it:The Lunatic Cafe (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #4),Bloody Bones (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #5) and The Killing Dance
which has in it:Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, #7) and Blue Moon
Each of these books are hardcover and I got a great deal on them.

Sounds like you got some good deals. That's always a +.
Bought with my BD 10% off Xmas coupons Thanks, Ladies! :)
And some pre-orders:
Wanted to pre-order more, but the dates were questionable as to whether or not another site would offer sooner and cost differences, etc.
You'll have to let us know how Blood on Silk is; it looks interesting.I was at Wally World friday night and even though I'd read the first book, I had to buy both
and
.Then just for the heck of it I picked up
. There were a lot more lovely books I was gawking over, but I resisted temptation. . . So far, LOL.
I picked up
at a used book store today. I've already read it, but the cover was so pretty, I couldn't turn it down, and for a buck, why not :)Also for my lovely new Kindle:
This is what came for me in the mail today!
I thought I ordered the second book in the Chicagoland Vampires Series too. I hope I did... Oh man, I'm losing track.
Great haul, Stacy. LOL! Maybe #2 just got sidetracked and will ship separately. Fingers crossed for ya. :)

My birthday gift card haul for Kindle:
I still need
and the rest of the Narnia books. I have read the first 2 (old reading order) and only have the series in paper. I want them on my Kindle to keep the VERY old paper books safe.
I love my used bookstore! Picked up lotsa goodies this week:
And the grand total...$6.00
Like I said, love this place. Now just need to find the time to read them all...
I'm so jealous!!!!!!If I was to go to my closest used bookstore I'd be paying over $8 per book. That's why I usually buy new from BD, its cheaper.
Well, thats the state the Govt has left the book sellers in (theres a lot of behind the scenes laws from the Feds). They know that here in Aus people buy books, so they charge through the nose.Of course, people are now starting to buy online bigtime, and when kindles etc become popular here (they've only just starting selling them here) then the book sellers will really start to hurt.
Wait till you see the 2 shows Oprah taped yesterday. She did them both at the Sydney Opera House - you'll have to watch especially Steph since you've been there.I hear they will go to air in US and Aus in January sometime.
And it's been good - she brought the fine weather with her. LOL.
Cool. I'll have to keep an eye out - AFN (Armed Forces Network) schedules are wack though, so who knows when we'll see it here. Thanks for the info though!
I am about to be reading to start Changes by Jimi Butcher #12 in the series and the one released this year -- next one Ghost Story is due out in April. I really want to buy Changes, Dresden Files is my new most favorite series but the ebooks is $12.99!!! Still. So I am trying very hard to wait until the price drop ....... because I just bought Side Jobs for 12.99 and I know I will buy Ghost Story for 12.99!
Yesterday I bought
from the discount book shop. When I saw Unholy Ghosts I couldn't help but think of the good press it's got from this group so I had to buy it ;)
Today I've ordered from BD:
I've been trying to hold on until I get my Kindle so I would buy ebooks instead or even the after Xmas sales but I'm too impatient. I need a book-buying fix NOW!
I have a very full Amazon basket which is just ready for me to click "Proceed to Checkout" as well as bookmarked ebooks with the One-Click button. Come on sales!
Amazon is like a horrible addiction/disease whatever -- Amazon is responsible for my credit card bills! I gotta say though, that I love having my Kindle b/c I pay that credit card bill and my husband has no idea how many books I keep buying! *hides head*Great books Amy!

Great books. I've really liked "Downside" - very different and I ❤ Terrible. ;) I'm interested in Ronda Thompson's series. Maybe she'll be a NEW2ME author in 2011. How's that series? Is it very historicalish? I'm not big on HR, but when supes are involved it's a bit easier to digest.

LOL! Hey, whatever works, yah? It's definitely an addiction, but as many have said, there are much worse addictions to have. :)
Amazon is quite addicting, and yes, the one-click is DANGEROUS! And I haven't stopped buying actual books, so it's really just one more outlet for spending money...Ames - just saw
the other day and the cover drew me in, reminded me of
, which is sitting patiently for me to read it.
@Regina - You are so right about Amazon being an addiction! Click, click, click. Oh dear, I'm poor. When did that happen? LOL!@Steph - I've only read The Dark One (in between some very bad books) and although it wasn't too heavy with the paranormal I enjoyed it immensely! I'm not a big fan of historicals either but this was highly entertaining. It had me in it's clawed grasp from start to finish!
@Vivian - I've wondered about the Night Angel trilogy. Let us know if you like it and I might add it to my wish list. :)
