That's the same as ours - 20 in ours and we're at #7 :)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) I missed the Freo/Rich and Ess/Geelong games :/

I did tip the roos, felt it was about time West Coast got brought down a peg or two.

message 1203: by Mez (new)

Mez don't blame you for not tipping the roos, we're unpredictable!

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) They're one of a few teams who have made inconsistency into a bit of an art form. Richmond are due to skew downwards I think :P

Cheering on the Australian ladies vs the USA today

Carolyn wrote: "Excellent Melissa! Go the Matlidas!"

it is tied 1 all at halftime

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Chris Judd forced into retirement from his ACL on the weekend against the Crows :/ sad that such an innocuous marking contest has killed such a legend of the game.

message 1209: by Mez (new)

Mez Agreed Liam, what a champion player and its really sad that he had to go out on that note without really seeing any success at the Blues.

Australians lose to the USA :( 3 - 1

They were indeed - I was hoping they would pull off the win.

The Australians that is ... not the Americans. Got to stay loyal to our commonwealth cousins :D

message 1213: by [deleted user] (new)

Michael wrote: "Thanks Melissa and i can imagine there would be quite a rivalry between you guys and the States."

Always lol, it is a brutal rivalry - especially if it is hockey. If Canada vs USA play hockey against each other ... work places shut down just to watch :P

Wow! Sounds like our Melbourne Cup every November:)

Brenda wrote: "Wow! Sounds like our Melbourne Cup every November:)"

it is good times - we had the Olympics here in 2010 and the gold medal game was Canada vs USA ... the Canadian productivity dropped to zero that day lol. We still haven't let the USA forget it either :D

Do things get competitive between you guys and New Zealand - one of my Kiwi friends has told me that for them a rugby match between NZ and Australia is a pretty big deal.

Ooh yes! A major event..lol

message 1219: by [deleted user] (new)

Canada up against New Zealand coming up. Game currently delayed by storms. Go Canada :D

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Port v. Geelong tonight! Port tipped to win but I think it'll be close - albeit obviously a Port win :P

Me and my Geelong supporter friend are going, whoever loses has to buy Vili's on the way home!

I can answer that, I think. It's a pie.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Vili's is a 24-hour bakery just outside the city. It's fantastic. :P

message 1225: by [deleted user] (new)

at the end of the soccer match, the Kiwis put up a good fight and the game ended in a tie 0 - 0 between Canada and NZ

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) I mean I tip Port every week no matter who we're playing. Never liked tipping against my team, feels like I'm hoping they'll lose.

Yeah saw that video, bloody hell! Professional arm-wrestlers make sure to exercise their biceps and triceps evenly so that that sort of thing doesn't happen, rugby players would be all bicep.

It was a close game Dale - a great last quarter by the Cats:)

message 1231: by Liam || Books 'n Beards (last edited Jun 12, 2015 07:53AM) (new)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Man what a depressing game. Port just fell apart in the second half, and not to blame umpiring like a scumbag but there was a decent 10 minute chunk of just horrible not-paid decisions and that one holding the ball decision that had the entire crowd chanting BULLSH** BULLSH** which I think just totally sapped Port's confidence to attack the footy. Last quarter there were so many uncontested marks for the Cats, Port not going at it at all. Why bother if you're not going to get rewarded? Sitting in the southern stand me (and my cats' fan mate) were appalled at some of the blatant decisions the umps totally ignored.

White did his hammy, Michael so he'll be out for a few weeks at the very least.

What a crap night.

Dale Harcombe | 6919 comments What's the feeling among bombers supporters about Hird, given the chatter by journos and commentators?

message 1233: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6919 comments Thanks for the view from a fan. Agree a sad situation.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Vili's was good, yes.

I cannot stand Hird. Not a Bomber supporter obviously, but he always seemed like a bit of a prick. Much preferred Bomber Thompson.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Bloody hell my tips this round. 2/6.

And the gods were smiling on the right team last night - the moroon thugs were sent packing :)

Blue is superior - it is a pure colour whereas Maroon is a blend of BLUE and red - can't get a maroon team without the help of Blue - LOL!!!!

I am Michael - as I said, I **hate** rugby, but it's a NSW thing;)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Last night somebody brought up Origin on the Adelaide Advertiser facebook page, and whoever was in charge of the social media for the day came back with this;

The Advertiser: We heard about your sport once Harry Fletcher. It's the silly one where you toss the ball around and roll it under your foot a bit before some guy the size of a mountain tries to snap your neck like a twig?

message 1249: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9850 comments Still don't get rugby after 30y of living in NSW (after moving from Perth via Adelaide). So glad both my boys were happy to stick with playing soccer since junior AFL wasn't really an option at the time.
