Thanks for the restraint Carmel. We do have very young teens in this group.

I hope that Tony doesn't post the playboy image unless it's suitable for 13 year old viewing.

(Okay, so I have a 13 year old I'm over protective of, not that she is on goodreads.)

Good stuff who is the girl? you have a definate style there, quite precise you should do more. Mickey is good too. You would create graphics and stuff using paint shop and the like? I can't work with that, way over my head. I have a friend that can create wonderfull pictures using just his pc and software.

message 305: by Neko (new)

Neko The girl is a Japanese pop singer called Ayumi. In 2008/2009 I worked in animation drawing backgrounds and some props for kids cartoon so I'm fairly comfortable drawing in Flash on a WACOM tablet. Also use all the other Adobe products for drawing/designing.

Maybe think about learning how to draw with a tablet? It can be a challenge to learn but it is fun!

I suppose I do use my computer for my portraits in a way. I put the characters pictures on the screen
and then I am able to zoom in and out to pick up the details clearer... I would like to try the tablet thing but just don't seem to have time, what with the writing, drawing ect. I suppose "old dog new tricks" hHa!

1. Time of Day: Any morning I'm not at work.
2. Food: I like *all* food way to much for my own good.
3. Drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic): Again, not too fussy. I like alcoholic drinks on the slightly sweet side but no too much. I love a good coffee and a nice cuppa tea.
4. Band/singer: Hmm, lovin' Dan Sultan and Mumford and Sons at the moment along with old faves such as John Butler and Xavier Rudd.
5. Actor: Dunno really but I'm thinkin' Hugh Jackman is a bit alright. ;o)
6. Spot in Australia: I love my home town which is kinda NE Central Vic. It's pretty. I also love Tassie. All of it.
7. Team/Sport: I used to be a sports nut in my youth but not so much now. I tollerate it because my hubby has never grown out of it and it's on our tv 95% of the time.
8. Car: A little black Holden Barina that is about to die. Ha!
9. Animal: I love my whippet. Never thought I'd say that but she's beautiful.
10. Activity: I do a lot of handcrafting...... as in needlework of all sorts. Either that or I'm cooking or cleanin' for the clan or trying to steal away to read just a few more pages. Oh and I just LOVE my computer. Love, love, love it!

What? I love Tom Baker. Or I did when I was a kid. My family and I are huge Dr. Who fans.

message 316: by [deleted user] (new)

Carmel, when I was young I thought Tom Baker was gorgeous. (or maybe I was just so in love with Dr Who it didn't matter what he looked like) Love David Tennant.

Tom Baker was always my favourite until Christopher Eccleston starred in the first year of the new Dr Who. He's a brilliant character actor, brought a new credibility and drama to the role. And what about his relationship with Rose. Best unrequited love pairing in Dr Who history. My other favourite sidekick was that older English woman that starred with David Tennant (my 3rd favourite Dr). I think her name was Donna.

dr who

message 318: by [deleted user] (new)

Donna was played by Catherine Tate. She was fantastic.

I love the new doctor played by Matt Smith. At first I thought he was a bit odd but he grows on you quickly.

The Daleks were of Dr Who the first series silly!

I am a moderate sci fi fan. Went to the movies last night to see Tron, Wow, just thought it was great,3D, surround sound, morphing the whole 9 yards.
3D is all the go now and I think it works well. Loved Avatar in 3D and "Clash of the Titans"
My next novel is going to be in 3D... Diabolical, Devilish and Damned!!! Well no change there then!!!

I had always been quite negative about field hockey. I only played once. My best friend whacked me in the face with her hockey stick. I never played again as I figured that if that's what my friend did imagine what the opposition would do.
My daughter decided to play Hockey a few years ago, she had tried various sports, netball, soccer, softball... hockey is the thing she found the best. As a parent watching the sport I find it a lot better than the other sports as well. I also notice the spectators are far more civilised.
