Ahh, Snoopy is gorgeous!!! And don't they know they're adorable!!

@Wishful..I work in retail too, and know how the customers are, so even tho it's hard, if you try to be overly sweet, sometimes it gets through the anger...often it doesn't but try not to take it personally. I wish you luck..

As far as I know Michael, Redgroup does, but some of the stores are a franchise, so it seems to make a difference. Not sure if I've got that right, but I know not all of our stores are affected either.

Neko I believe Brenda is right. Howeverm in todays Mercury I read a small ad informing about A&R voucher things, which makes me think, if our store isn't getting effected by the closure, then why would the vouchers get affected as well?

Ian "Marvin" Graye I keep looking at the SMH website and the headline starts "Coalition Pounds..." and I think it's going to say "Keneally", but then it says "Gadaffi".
Maybe tomorrow, they'll just change the one word.

Carmel, I would normally say that food bragging should be accompanied by a recipe (so we can all enjoy), but I assume that most of us can do a version of kebabs!
Any secret ingredients or sauces?

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments Congratulations on the top mark Jess - what a fantastic feeling that must be.
@ Wishful I hope you don't have to cop too much flak, it's a tough game in retail because the customer always vents at you like you're personally responsible. I'll admit to being pretty sad over the whole A&R situation but that's life for you I guess.
Booked my tickets to the Tutankhamun display at the Melb museum - only a short visit to check out the display, go to the zoo and do some shopping - my credit card is already cringing lol

message 1844: by Neko (new)

Neko OMG..that Tutankhamun display would be AMAZING to see!! I didn't know it was happening there. **jealous** haha

Enjoy the wonderful trip Tracey :D Sounds like it'll be a great time :))

message 1845: by ★ Jess (new)

★ Jess | 3071 comments I went yesterdya to spend my last voucher at A&R.
After I brought two books, I had $7 left on my card. The nice man at the counter said 'go choose another book. We'll pay for it on your gift card, and you can have the rest for free. Whos gonna know?'
So I brought Water for Elephants basically for free. What a nice young man :)
But I am still very upset over the whole thing...

★ Jess | 3071 comments :(
I still have vouchers for Dymoks. I should definitely spend them soon.

message 1847: by Neko (new)

Neko Lovely man, Jessica :)

God, I never shop at Dymocks, simply because they cost so much (have done way before Big W was here). The prices they have, here atleast, are terrible. I go to book city or other major retailors when i want a book and then online if i can wait.

Book City, I think, is only a Tassie shop. It's prices are good, not the best when you think of major shops (K-Mart, Big W,etc), but if Big W never opened and if I never got into online shopping then I'd still be buying from Book City.
