Samantha | 3 comments Currently I am reading Geek Magnet by Kieran Scott. It has been rather enjoyable so far.

Danielle (ramblingbooks) I just finished Afterlife by Claudia Gray, which I thought was REALLY good! So if you're not too tired of vampire books (which are annoyingly overplayed now I know),you should checkout the Evernight Series :)
And I am starting Darkest Mercy by Melissa Marr

Reading Other Words for Love by Lorraine Zago Rosenthal . Not usually my style but I'm trying to branch out and it's actually really good.

I like Maya too, but I wouldn't say she gets a spotlight. An interesting thing comes up from her past that adds to her appeal for me.

@Kayla: How was the book overall?

Reading Guardian of the Gate (Prophecy of the Sisters, #2) by Michelle Zink . Anybody read this series yet?

Alright now I'm convinced to get COFA. City of Glass was one of the most amazing books I've ever read and I wasn't sure COFA would live up to it.

Currently reading Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran

message 112: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments I thought COFA was very good. Got a while to wait for the next one. Really need to get started on that time machine...lol

Just started Water Wars by Cameron Stracher. I picked it up because of the pretty cover.

I heard Cassandra Clare is alternating which books come out, so an Infernal Device is next then a Mortal Instrument. I think...does anyone know?

message 114: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments Yeah, the next Infernal Device book, Clockwork Prince, comes out in December and heard about a year from now for the next Mortal Instruments.

Can't wait for Clockwork Prince! Since Will majorly got on my nerves in Clockwork angel.

Currently reading Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell .

I know, I know, I still have my beloved Nevermore, but, scanning my bookshelf, I found that I had several other books with bookmarks in them that I've completely forgotten.

Jem was very …. different (view spoiler) I still like him as a character, but he didn't have a lot of dimension.

Reading The Falcon at the Portal (An Amelia Peabody Mystery, #11) by Elizabeth Peters

I love these books, but they always take an me incredibly long time to read for some reason, so this should keep me going for a month or so.

How was Fallen Angel? I have it on my bookshelf, but keep finding others I want to read more. I just read Nevermore-Loved it!
Has anyone read Where She Went? It was so good I couldn't concentrate on anything else for a couple of days.
Reading Bodyfinder now. Another one I had put off, but I really like it.

Alright. *Intake of deep breath* I loved the Body Finder immensely! Especially the entire "best friend" relationship with the mystery, Fallen Angels was...well it can be annoying at times and is certainly fast-paced in my opinion but really is a good book that cuts you off at the end. I just hate cliffhangers but I'm glad to have read it. As for Nevermore....didn't it capture you in?? I feel that Isobel is very realistic so far! And despite his appearance-*cough cough* Patti *cough cough*-Varen is very tempting. ;^)

Just finshed Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) by Gwen Hayes and my do I have to say it? Welcome to Wonderland Alice! Or should I say Theia? The darkness... The temptation... The all-consuming nightmares... The side-relationships... And oh the skeletons~! This book definitely is a must read for all you fairytale lovers!

Currently sucked into The Demon Trapper's Daughter by Jana Oliver and...oh my goodness gracious...I just stepped into hell...And I'm having a realistic blast!

Patti | 327 comments Mod
Alright alright I'm sorry, but a goth guy and cheerleader? And Varen:Raven? It sounds cliche. But I could be wrong, it sounds ok. Maybe it'll find it's way onto my currently reading shelf sometime.

Just read the description of The Demon Trapper's Daughter. Is that a love square?

message 125: by ~Tormiester~, The Writer (new)

~Tormiester~ (hatsoff343) | 363 comments Mod
So far...I only see one potential love and one whom they both believe is just a brother, even though he's not related. This book seriously is hard-core tragedy with no sign of hope, even when its there its always ripped away. So far I've cried and cursed.

message 126: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments @Patti-I was right there with you as far as Nevermore was concerned. I can't tell you how many times the cover piqued my interest, but then I would read the description and put it right back on the shelf. I really loved it. I could kick myself for all those times I passed it up. And Varen is totally hot if you like tall, dark & intense ;)

message 127: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
Alright you guys have convinced me! I like Poe anyway, it was just the description that threw me off. I must admit that the cover is really nice. Tall, dark, and intense. He's not Edward-y is he? Is it love at first sight?

Just finished The Demon Trapper's Daughter. And I'll be honest that this book is HIGHLY recommended! So real that I can't describe it well enough! How does one describe life?-THEY CAN'T! So this book is similar there.

Forsaken (The Demon Trappers, #1) by Jana Oliver (I hate this cover and like the other one better though)

message 134: by Camilla (last edited May 21, 2011 09:42PM) (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments Just got done reading What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen and Wicked (Pretty Little Liars, #5) by Sara Shepard . Both were better than I expected! :D

Now reading Girl Parts by John M. Cusick and it's pretty gosh darn funny right now and I'm only on page 50! :D

@Patti: I am SO glad that you liked "Sing Me to Sleep"! One of my favorites.

Reading: The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong .

I have mixed feelings going into this, for what can ever top the Darkest Powers trilogy? Though I am interested in Project Phoenix…Phoenix as in extinct powers rising again. That was a big giveaway. There's also Valhalla and Thunderbird, though I have no idea what kind of supernaturals they'll have. Crossing my fingers for some previous character drop-ins!

message 136: by Caryn (new)

Caryn I'm almost done with Across the Universe which I'm really enjoying.

Next is one of these:

City of Ashes (and nope! I haven't read it yet!), Sing Me to Sleep, Starcrossed (which I preordered for my Kindle), The Gathering or The Magnolia League

message 137: by Patti, The Reader (new)

@Caryn- I recently read Sing Me to Sleep and I loved it! Definitely recommending it!

Reading Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright . Apparently it doesn't have and ending…?

message 138: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments Dark and Hollow places was very good. Tied the stories together in an interesting way.

Reading Desires of the Dead. Really love these characters!

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

message 145: by Candice (new)

Candice (thecrj) Just finished You by Charles Benoit . Very quick and interesting read. The last five or so pages will leave you slightly shocked. Very good contemporary about high school.

Starting Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson .

I definitely couldn't get into EYES LIKE STARS! Maybe it was because I didn't like the style? Who knows.

Hmm tell me how the Perks of Being a Wallflower goes. The movie has some of my favorite actors in it and I was wondering how good the book would be.
