Wow, a great book to start, Manju :)
I have already told about my book in this thread (which was a book on Tom and Jane - abrother sister duo who played passing the milk bottle, and milk spilt and mother scolded .... at the age of 5 or so)
My son's first book was Chuffy the steam engine at the age of 3 when he could barely read

Its my all time favorite.. but dont know how you will like, as a few are very critical of it.
I have read it around 7 or 8 times.

Have you considered a career in writing?? You are good at it. The least you could do is write a blog. You are a very eloquent in expressing your thoughts.

Heidi was one of my childhood favourites, too."
An excellent book. Heidi made me fall in love with reading and Alps.

But lo!! I fell in love with books when I read the first book named Nrisanga Mrityudut by Ranju Hazarika .
Then, after that, I tried the first English novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens a year later.

From then to now, reading has always been my constant. :)

I never used to read a book but by brother made me aware on how fascinating this world is.
And few years back, I came to know about this platform.
A good experience I must say

One step ahead of us all."
God's grace..

Hi Manju,
The First Novel that I loved was a Hindi one "Pila Gulab" by Surendra Mohan Pathak read at the age of around 8
in English, it was 'The Sign of Four' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyale which I read at the age of 9

I remember the Noddy series too , Priyanka , but I read them later . Enid Blyton I think ?

I wrote this article talking about how and why books changed - continually changing - my life: https://medium.com/@guilhermepetrin/t...
Peace (:

I was 9 when I started reading... Can't remember the first book though. I just remember that my English was poorer than most others in class. So while they read books with protagonists who were 9, I read books with a lot more pictures and with protagonists who were 6 or 7 years. I don't mind it because now it seems that among my friends I am the only one who still reads (and I no longer read about 7 year olds :p )
