Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Has anyone seen the next book's cover? Hehe

Archangel's Blade

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments I don't like it. I think those cover artists could've done better. He looks like a sleazy bad guy rather than dangerous and seductive. This image is nothing like what I envisioned. The last two angel covers were better.

Sandra | 25907 comments I never pictured Dimtri with a necklace, he just looks a bit girly.

message 54: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL! Yeah, he doesn't look like I pictured him either. :\

message 55: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments He's supposed to be all hard-assed and mean, this guy just looks too soft.

message 56: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL! I choose to eye the abs and skip the rest. ;)

message 57: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin | 862 comments I agree with you girls, not at all how I envisioned Dmitri.

message 58: by Karin Elisabeth (new)

Karin Elisabeth (goodreadscomkarinelisabeth) | 151 comments As far as I can see - he looks way too young for me!

message 59: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Hmmm...nice cover, but it just doesn't fit this book for me...

Do like the abs though!

message 60: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments Yeah, the abs work, but that's the only thing *sigh*

With all those models out there, did they pick someone's brother?

message 61: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments LOL!

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Wicked Scribes - Nalini Singh blog has a page dedicated to Nalini's Guild Hunter characters.

The world in which Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter is set is complex. Angels rule over humans and vampires, but the most powerful of them all are the archangels. Beautiful. Deadly. Sometimes cruel. Always unpredictable. There are several different groups represented – the archangels, the angels, the vampires, and the Guild Hunters.

You can view the page here . It has a breakdown of the Cadre of Ten, The Seven, as well as a detailed listing of characters seen in the series.

Sandra | 25907 comments Wow, so many characters. They've obviously put a lot of work into this. Well done them!

Judithe | 6566 comments Very cool site!! Thanks for sharing!

message 65: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Definitely! Well done them!

NP - happy I found it and I love to share. ;)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Nalini posted a snippet from her upcoming short story in the Angels' Flight anthology:

I'm currently working on Galen and Jessamy's novella - I thought you all might like a little sneak peek. Jessamy isn't in this particular bit, but it's from her point of view.
Unedited advance excerpt from Angels' Dance
A ringing blow with the flat of the blade against Dmitri's cheek, a kick to the gut and suddenly, Galen had the advantage, the tip of his broadsword touching Dmitri's jugular as the vampire's chest heaved where he lay on his back on the ground. "Yield."

Dmitri's unblinking gaze locked with Galen's, the merciless predator within the sophisticated vampire very much at the forefront. But his voice, when it came, was a lazy purr languid as a summer afternoon. "You're lucky the babies are watching."

Galen didn't so much as a flinch, his focus absolute.

Dmitri's lips curved. "Bloody barbarian. I yield."

Angels' Dance releases next year as part of the Angels' Flight anthology. Updated info on that to come soon.

message 68: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Me, too!

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Me three!

message 70: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Nalini has a "Guild Hunter - Behind the Scenes" page where she has FAQ, some stuff For Fun, Videos and Reader Videos.

From her FAQ section:

1. Will Elena and Raphael get another book or is their story finished?

Yes, they will. Their story is definitely not finished!

2. How many books will there be in the series?

At present, I'm contracted for four more books after Archangel's Blade.

3. Do you plan to write books about the Seven?

Yes, though I'm not sure if I'll write about every one.

Dmitri's book is titled Archangel's Blade and will be out September 6, 2011.
Galen's novella is titled Angels' Dance and will be out February 28, 2012 in the Angels' Flight anthology.

4. Will Ashwini and Janvier from Angels' Pawn return?

Yes.

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Nalini posted the UK cover for Archangel's Blade.

AB-UK

I like it better than open-shirt dude who doesn't look like Dimtri.

message 72: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments All the UK covers have this sort of look. I much prefer the US covers, except for Dimitri.

message 73: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments My thoughts exactly.

message 74: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Me, too!

message 75: by Karin Elisabeth (new)

Karin Elisabeth (goodreadscomkarinelisabeth) | 151 comments I definitely like this cover much better than the other one - but it won't be a problem for me anyway as Kindle (fortunately or unfortunately) doesn't "need" covers.

message 76: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments I like the UK cover better than the US cover. In Post#51 his chin is too far forward - gives him a thuggish "Yeah? What are you doing to do about it?" look. That and the weird eyes.

message 77: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments Yay, it's in the mail!

message 78: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments YAY!

message 79: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Hooray for Sandra!!

@Lisa Kay~I have to agree...his face just doesn't do it for me...doesn't fit my mental image of Dmitri either....though very nice abs...

message 80: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments Yep, I agree with that Judithe, the face is too soft for Dmitri.

message 81: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) So has anyone finished Angels Blade and if so what did you think?

Oh and the cover was very distracting I kept staring at it and thinking are you kidding me?

message 82: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments Judithe wrote: "@Lisa Kay~I have to agree...his face just doesn't do it for me...doesn't fit my mental image of Dmitri either....though very nice abs..."

Oh, yeah! I love the abs... but the face isn't even the same skin tone. Weird.

message 83: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) The abs I think are the only positive he looks like he is strung out on drugs.

message 84: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments LOL! He does!

message 85: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments I have it, but haven't read it yet. Really looking forward to it though. :D

message 86: by Karin Elisabeth (new)

Karin Elisabeth (goodreadscomkarinelisabeth) | 151 comments I have read it and I was quite impressed given the fact that Dmitri was the character I was least interested in. It's a truth: Singh doesn't let me down.

message 87: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25907 comments I enjoyed it 4 stars worth. Like Karin Elisabeth, Dmitri wasn't my fav character to start with, but he has an interesting back story and whilst still not my absolute fav one of the 7, he certainly has grown on me. I think Elena really does need a protag to bounce off and that is Dmitri's role throughout the series.

So just ignore the poor excuse of a cover and read the book.

message 88: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments Certainly will do! And, I agree. So far Nalini hasn't disappointed me either. So nice having authors you can count on for good reads.

message 89: by Lis (last edited Oct 19, 2011 04:19PM) (new)

Lis | 4037 comments I finally got to ARCHANGELS BLADE and shame on me for waiting... First excuse, I think the cover was a little bit of a put off (and secondly I was holding it back for Bingo).
But I really enjoyed this one which I didn't expect! It was dark and steamy!!

and Steph cover your eyes... I think I'm starting to like this Nalini series just a little more than the Psy-Changling one...

message 90: by Pam (last edited Oct 19, 2011 07:27PM) (new)

Pam (clisson) see, I like both series, but Psy-Changling is like a red zin and Archangel is like a glass of scotch...

message 91: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 1586 comments LOL!

message 92: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32697 comments LOL Lis! I waited to start Blade also. Reading it now and really liking Dmitri.

I like both series as well. Love the analogy Pam. ;)

Judithe | 6566 comments :D

message 99: by Christine (new)

Christine | 850 comments I love Nalini Singh's writing! I'm so excited to get a book about Jason. But when do we get Illium's book!?! And Venom's!? And all the others. I want them ALL!!!

Okay, I feel better now.

message 100: by Vi (new)

Vi | 943 comments I'm thinking of inventing a time-machine. I can then go 2 years into the future and buy all of her books and come back! Assuming, of course, that the world doesn't end on Dec 2012 :D
