Jasmine, I always pictured you as dark, but that's probably because you mentioned being Indian before. I actually know a blond Jasmine, but she's only 10 or so. My dog is white, does she count? :D Her name is spelled Jazmine though.

LOL. Don't picture me too dark though, ahaha. I'm actually really light compared to other Indians. :D I'm what my cousin would call "milk chocolate", loll.
I have Native American blood in me, but I'm also Welsh so I'm as pale as can be and find it impossible to tan. Someone in high school once said, "Dang you're white!" I pulled my sleeve down. I had been swimming everyday for 3 years and had a permanent x and o on my back from the suit. She took one look and said, "Holy s*** you're TAN!" Made me feel REEEEEAAAAL good about myself there. At lease I had gotten to the point where I didn't burn in 20 minutes or less by that point, but still.
I finished. I gave it 4 stars, but it might be closer to a 3.5. I really did like the characters and the time period, but I felt like the anticipation with the action sequences fell short. I was always on the edge of my seat while reading them in TMI, but not with CA. I enjoyed the little twists put in, and really want to know what Will is hiding.
I actually gave it 4.5 stars. It wasn't as good as my favorite of hers (City of Glass), but it was a much better starter book than City of Bones in my opinion.***mini type spoilers*** (very mini), but nothing that will ruin the reading experience as far as I can tell
There were a few unanswered questions (what is Sophie, what is Tessa, what is that darned angel pendant?) that have me wondering about some things, but that's a good thing.
Will is Jace with dark hair and a British accent though, lmao. I think Cassandra Clare wrote him that way on purpose, and I won't complain too much since I'm over the moon for Jace (and probably will be for Will now), but I really enjoyed the character of Jem as well. He is a vast improvement over having Simon in a love triangle.
Finally finished. It took me longer to get interested than her other series. It may have been that modern day NYC is more familiar and doesn't take as long to develop an interest. Although, I've been to London, so there's a sense of familiarity for me. Perhaps that means that there was somthing else that kept me seperated from the story for a while. Eventually I was sucked in. I liked the fight scene at the end. I just don't care about the bad guys. The whole "technical" side.
I liked Jem, but Will needs to be smacked. Jessamine is just a fool. I like the clave members from MI, better than these ones. Despite that, I did actaully enjoy the book. The series has potential. I'll keep reading it. I hope that Tess grows over the course of the series. It would be nice to see.

Finished Clockwork Angel last night. I really really liked it. I have not read any of the Mortal Instrument series, but now i am thinking that i should start! There was alot left unresolved that is going to drive me a little nuts till the next book is available, but hey, that is kinda the authors job, right?
I really wanted Will to be a little nicer at the end of the book, but I guess that would be out of character!
The two series will overlap each other, so I'd definitely recommend reading Mortal Instruments. You'll be surprised at how different Magnus is in those books compared to CA because the time period is present day instead of Victorian England.I wanted to say something about one of Will's relatives but realized that it might be something of a spoiler, considering that you read CA after MI, and most of us read it in the other order.
Loved this book we have to wait so long for the next in the series but the good thing is we get COFA in the MI series in a couple months. lets start the cound down WOOOOO!
I'm right there with you. So looking forward to CoFA!!!I sound like a broken record about this book, but if you are a MI fan, you might want to read
. There is a cute little "alternate world" reference to Jace from MI in there (the two authors are friends and have similar writing styles). It's a great book, and Cassel is almost as hot as Jace. The curse working world is so interesting too.

I started reading it but I was to sleepy the part when he was sleep walking made me even sleepier and I just never got a chance to return to the book. But I lvoe Jace so I will have to try again.
I'm only on page 16 of Clockwork Angel and I'm already loving it, LOL. I've had it since it first came out, but I was scared to read it because I thought I'd miss Jace and the gang to much. Nice to know that's not a problem. :) Although maybe later on in the book I will. :(
Will is even more Bad ass than Jace but he is a little less human he really doesnt care while Jace cares. You will see what I mean hope thats not a spoiler.
I havent read City of Glass yet. I am trying to wait until I get COFA but I dnt know if I can do it the book is just calling me from the self every time I look up at it. "Readddd meeeee" lmao im insane. :)
Chakara wrote: "Will is even more Bad ass than Jace but he is a little less human he really doesnt care while Jace cares. You will see what I mean hope thats not a spoiler."It's not, I've heard that a lot. :)

What's nice though is both Will and Jem are appealing for completely different reasons. I adore them both.
Stacia (impatient for Shadowfever) wrote: "What's nice though is both Will and Jem are appealing for completely different reasons. I adore them both."That is a good thing. In MI we only really have one to look up to and crush on and thats Jace because Alec is into Mangus. But with the ID series we have Jem and Will.People are already saying the are Team Will or Team Jem. I think Jem is Winning right now lol.
Heather, the first time i read it I had a hard time getting into the beginning and had to return it to the library. I gave it another shot and really loved it, but I have not read the MI, so I am pretty excited to read them.

I love Magnus! <3
Chakara, I would read CoG since it really is the ending for the MI series. It doesn't leave you hanging as it wraps up everything nicely. The following books will have different plots and antagonists even though they are still in the MI series.
Heather, I felt the same.

What about Simon?

Who the Bleep is Simon? lol just kidding I like Simon but not to many readers were rooting for him. Everyone could see that him and Clary didnt really fit as a couple. IMO
Cassandra Clare said that there never was a MI love triangle, since Simon never actually "competed" against Jace for her heart. Simon was who she ran to in essence as a way to try to hide her feelings for Jace. Ms. Clare also said that in ID there will be an absolute love triangle.
Stacia (impatient for Shadowfever) wrote: "Cassandra Clare said that there never was a MI love triangle, since Simon never actually "competed" against Jace for her heart. I finished this Book two days ago and all I have to say is WOW Cassandra Clare answered alot of our questions but then gives us more questions to ask for the next book and there is only going to be three! AAAH. Also I found it weird that (view spoiler)
I'm struggling to get through this new one. Apparently steampunk isn't my thing, minus the Parasol Protectorate books. I just don't care enough about the characters. I'm half way through and don't know if I should finish.
I'm reading the new one now. If something is special about Sophie I really wish that Cassandra Clare would just flipping spit it out already! I don't remember book 1 all that much but I know for sure in book 2 there were all of these random Sophie POV asides that never really went anywhere. Oh, she used to be really pretty until a master beat her up and now she doesn't trust? I don't care. One of the minor character (I guess...somewhere between major and minor I guess. More than minor but significantly less than major characters) has taken a shine to her? Don't care. She finds the other maid/servant/house keeper girl weird and thinks she sings creepy little songs and ultimately should shut her yap? Dude. Me too. But these little Sophie asides are getting on my nerves! They remind me of Gossip Girl and how in Season 2 or whenever they decided to have this random storyline about Blaire's housekeeper/nanny/personal assistant Dorota that played out online and during commercial breaks. It was distracting, it took away from the main plot (and this was during that brief time when GG was actually interesting!) and ultimately added nothing to the tv show.
I also reading the "Last" book. I say it with quotations cause we all know that as much as we love Clare she doesnt ever stop with this series. Rumor is shes doing a spin off of the Prequels soo yeah. Anyway I like it but I need more Will at this time and less Sophie and Henry. :)))))
(view spoiler)Do you know who I do want to know more about? Bridget. She can carve automatons up like a Christmas turkey and where did she learn all of those creepy songs anyway?
Im stuck between reading this book or finishing GOT season one so I can move on to season two. Froze up on me a week ago and I didnt feel like fixing it. Im not as far as you Tya but I did read your spoiler because I wasnt sure which part of the book you were going to talk about. Its not like everyone who takes their dust jackets off to read a book didnt see Clare spoil it all for us lol. Even though I knew what would happen to Jim I was still sad when I took off my dust jacket :(.
Im about 100 pages in.
Tessa gets on my nerves I'ma need her to 1. kick some butt and 2. Stop with the Soap Opera :)
I finished it. I get, I guess (view spoiler)I only gave it 4 stars (I'm very much a I LOVE it or I HATE it kind of gal. Very rarely is there a middle ground. I give up on middle ground. ) But for me it was more of a 3.5 I really did.not.(and do.not) care about Sophie or the Lightwoods. And unless they talk about Bridgette during some of the stuff I was skipping I don't think they ever talk about her weird behind.
I loved Clockwork Princess, I thought it was written beautifully the way it all came around. That book made me cry so many times it was not even funny. Loved it.
Well I'll say this: my complaint is wrapped up elsewhere in the series. :)And I still don't care about Sophie's weird behind. And I won't be reading the new spin-off. Is anyone (everyone?!) going to watch Shadowhunters? We should watch live together and point out everything wrong and ultimately ruin it for each other!......that might not be a great plan

I'd like to watch it but I can't remember what day it comes out.
The new TV show? I think it might be this week? I can't remember. All I can remember from the commercials with that ABCfamily will be called something else. I wish they'd post it on Hulu.

Besides her hair I really like how the other cast members look. I really need to find out how to watch it!!!
