I went in a bit of a different direction for standing up for something you believe in... " 'There are all kinds of courage,' said Dumbledore, smiling, 'It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. I therefore award ten points to Mr. Neville Longbottom.'"

For 25.8 A New Year I finished Bloed, Zaad en Tranen (it's Dutch, so the link probably doesn't help much), it's about a group of doctors who deal with issues such as problems in family life due to long days/nights and trouble among the surgeons. This year I've been working on finding a more boyfriend-friendly way of combining interning at the hospital and being a good girlfriend. And I've also been busy trying to decide what I'm going to do after I finish my internships, being a doctor in a hospital or not. For my New Year's resolution I read You Wish: I'm going to work on being more openminded and a bit nicer in the process.

5.4: Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan (an excellent holiday book!)10.3: Unexpectedly, Milo by Matthew Dicks
I really loved Dicks's first novel, Something Missing, and Unexpectedly, Milo has lower ratings on GoodReads. Personally I did like Something Missing better, Unexpectedly, Milo is another interesting (and apparently more personal) addition to the author's growing canon.
25.5: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (I read all seven books in one volume, which made it a definite chunkster!)

"Emily D"Finished: 10.3 - Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
I really enjoyed "Northanger Abbey", even more so than "Pride and Prejudice", which is the other Austen work I've read and her most praised piece. I will consent that P & P is definitely more polished than this one, but I laughed much more through "Northanger Abbey" and that is what really matters to me. :) I would recommend this "weakest" work to anyone.

25.6 Lists for men and women: I finished Pride and Prejudice from the list for women and Revolutionary Road from the list for men. Pride and Prejudice is my favourite book of all time, so of course I feel every woman should read it! Revolutionary Road is however in my opinion not a book everyone *should* necessarily read, though I did enjoy it. There was a harsh, unforgiving reality to it.
