As part of the revamp, we are going to start a brand new intro thread. If you're a new member, please let us know a little about you. If you're an old member, but want to say hi again, you are more than welcome to post your intro.

I'll leave it up to you to come up with four things about yourself to introduce yourself to the group. Nothing too personal please. :)

Hi, I'm Arch.

I like:

1. Read interracial romance. A huge percentage of that is Black woman/white man stories. I'm also a write, not author. I love writing interracial stories about black women/white men

2. To converse with people and have a nice pleasant time.

3. I like to come up with topics. Games, etc., so please don't get tired of me. I like to keep people active. I know we are all busy people. :)

4. I'm a nerd. :) Nerds rock! :)

As a moderator on this group, I want to welcome everyone. Old and New on this group. I hope we have more people participate in this group. This group has been created for interracial readers to have a place to come and gather and have a great time discussing what we all like and that's interracial stories.

Please, enter the door and enjoy your stay.

Elise-Pinterest+Goodreads=The Perfect Book Boyfriend (eliselovesshinyandnew) | 56 comments Sandy here. I love to read, mainly paranormal romance and IR. I used to write many, many years ago just because it felt like a story/character was there and I needed to write it down just for personal gratification, not for publishing. Unfortunately, after marriage, kids and life in general I do not have the time that I used to write. Maybe later, the stories and people are still there, just no time. I am a nerd and a gadget freak. My husband says if it's new and shiny, I want it. I don't agree. I mean, I don't have a Mac, iPod 4 or an Ipad (although I have a iPod 3 and a Kindle and I am thinking about selling stuff on Ebay to raise the money for a Mac, I feel guilty just buying it)-LOL!!. Anyway, that's me. Feel free to talk to me whenever you like, and add me as a friends if you want. I feel like a hermit if I don't have my virtual friends.

Hi, I'm Michelle and I looooove to read! Unfortunately, due to my increased work load, I haven't been able to read as much as I used to; but that hasn't stopped me from buying books. I like going to library/used book sales; I'm the lady loaded down with bags of books, with the serious look her face, so please be nice! In an effort to decrease the clutter, and make some extra money, I've recently started selling books on ebay ( I tried craigslist too, but was contacted by too many scammers, and 1 pervert, so that's done). It's been a dream of mine to own and operate a used bookstore; so selling on ebay has been fun so far; parting with some of my books hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be. I'm always looking for more books to buy/read, and new authors to try, so feel free to send me any recommendations. Oh! As open-minded and progressive as I like to think I am, I've decided that I'm anti e-book. I seriously considered getting a kindle, and just couldn't do. Give me an old fashioned paperback book any day!

Michelle, we have book bag lady in common and preferring a paperback book over an ebook. It's something about having a book in my hands.

Good to know I'm not the only one! There's so many books that are only available in some sort of "e" format that I'd like to read, and I'm just hoping they'll be available in a paperback sooner than later.

When I get a chance to go to the library, the librarians knows that I am going to buy books and it depends on what they have on their shelf. I can get book happy.

Also, I like buying books on sale at a garage sale, only if the books are pretty cheap. Last year, I bought 100 books at a garage sale for $5.00

Don't get me wrong, I besides romance books, I do buy YA books and plus education books, but the 100 books were at least 95 romance books.

I like to snuggle up to a good catcher paperback book. I rather paperback than hardback, but I'll buy a cheap hardback, only if it's the only version or version available at the moment.

Hi, I'm Danielle! I started this group b/c I love talking about IRR.

1.I'm a bookaholic. I own thousands of books. I can't seem to resist buying more.
2.I live in Texas, which I mostly love, except for this time of year, when I'm miserable with the heat.
3.I love animals. Pretty much all of them! I find watching cattle in the fields when I drive to and from work mesmerizing. Not sure what that means.
4.I harbor a secret desire to marry a cattle/horse rancher and/or to own a farm. So long as it's close enough to get in my car and make it to a decent size town in less than fifteen minutes.

Most of that has nothing to do with IR, but oh well.

I'm Bekah. At this very moment I'm holding a very unsuccessful garage sale. It's really pathetic how much I'm NOT selling. Bad advertising. So it will be craigslist for me. I hope I don't get any perverts. I have currently been laid off, so my TBR pile is diminishing rapidly. I love and hate that. I'm the sort of person who actually likes having that towering TBR pile - it makes me feel like I have gold just waiting around - like..an awesome nest egg! Anyway, Michelle, I too have always wanted to have a used book store. You'll have to tell me how your experience for your online store is going...I actually just recently thought of that option so let me know how its goin! I hope well for you.

I also prefer holding a book in my hand and looking at a overstuffed bookcase, but since I'm moving back in with my mom and dad for the time being my space is going to be limited. Plus I'm going to be making a half country drive to get there, so I'm looking into buying an e reader in the next couple of weeks. I'm leaning towards a Sony reader...but I just can't make up my mind between the Sony, the Kindle, and the Nook. I'm getting frustrated!

I hope the move goes well, Bekah. I own a Kindle and I love it. I'm more of a paper book fan, but the Kindle does serve its purpose. It's really fast to read books on it.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll have to watch more closely for the print releases. I know there are a lot of newer authors that I thought were only available in electronic format. I'll have to go through my tbr list to check for updates.

It was a charity garage sale. These people are forever having a garage sale. After I have bought the books from them, the next week they had another garage sale, where I have gotten a lot of VHS movies and VHS exercise tapes for $5.00 as well.

I like to exercise, so I wanted the exercise tapes.

Desperado (lethallovely) | 76 comments Hi, I'm Ammarylis.

1)I'm a 20-year old college sophmore currently majoring in an English/History double major. Yikes, I know. I might end up turning one of them into a minor.

2)I am African-American/Tahitian woman currently engaged to a Scots/German man. Because I'm in a serious interracial relationship for the first time in my life, I'm very curious about other IR's and IR romances.

3)I am an unashamed book fiend with 1000+ novels read & counting. There are piles of novels around my house, although I'm only allowed to have 2 bookshelves in my room. *tear*

4)I'm a perve. No seriously, I am. If there is a book with sex in it, I am on it like boob jobs on Dr. 90210. I'm very open & honest & not easily offended. You can ask me anything you want & I'll try my best to answer. If you DO ask a question that offends me (which is rare), I'll be sure to let you know in a nice & friendly way.

I don't think I have ever read an introduction where someone says they are a perv. I don't think I know any perv's, or maybe they are in the closet. However, that's funny to me (I know, I am simple-LOL).

I'm so grateful that my mum & me can talk about stuff like that, even if I have to force her to listen. A few months ago I showed her the cover for a novel I'd ordered online, Dark Elves 1 Taken by Jet Mykles , & she was like "Wtf is this, Ammarylis? You are so weird."

PT (spinsterpt) | 319 comments Hello, ladies. Good to see that there are some new faces and well as the usual suspects.
Thanks for the email Danielle. I have always enjoyed this group and would hate to see it go away. Though I must admit that my lack of participation was due to the fact that I hadn't read any interracial romances since Shiree's book , "The Lord and the Scorpion" last year.
I really can't think of anything to share about myself. I'm pretty boring for the most part. I'll try to check in more regularly on the group and comment when I can.
BTW, I am a perv too, so you're not alone Ammarylis :)

I know that a lot of us haven't read a lot of interracial books or will come to a point, where we will go through a interracial books dry spell. That's why I have created a thread for non interracial books discussions.

I do own a lot of non interracial books and I wouldn't mind conversing with anyone about a non interracial book.

We have other threads as well, fun stuff/games, movies, TV shows, etc.

There are plenty of threads to participate in. If you feel like you want to participate in any of the other threads, please do so.

Lets keep the group active as much as possible.

Maria | 11 comments HI Everyone,

I'm Maria, I'm from London, UK. I came across your website to find some good novels to read. I have been away so long from Romance-suspense and thriller fiction for almost 20 years. Its was work and books related to my studies got in the way.

Books I have read are usually biographies of famous people like, Mandela, Ghandi,Audrey Hepburn and Elvis and non fiction autobiographies by ex military (eg SAS, Royal Marines) (non romantic) about their experiences in places like Faulklands, Iraq etc.

I now have the time and want a bit of escapism. I was wondering where to start. There are so many authors out there so I am confused, and would rather read the books by good authors. I am into the hero, the usual alpha and gamma types, even the tortured angst ridden ones will do but no wimps, and the feisty intelligent heroine but with suspense, action and thriller type plots.I don't mind the odd historical ones either. I hope you get my drift.

Any advice from you seasoned readers to point me in the right direction to get be started would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked at books by Anne Stuart, Cindy Gerard,Elizabeth Jennings and Linda Howard. Not sure which ones to go for first.

Many thanks in advance

P.S

I don't know much about paranormal romacnce books, are they good too ?

Maria

Thank you very much for the welcome. I will explore these paranormal authors you recommended. Any romance- suspense authors I should start with ? Its so confusing which books to start with as there are so many.
Many thanks again

I have alot of catching up to do
