Hey Arch! Huggs! If you did, I may have never come back. LOL

My name is Lola. I don't think I introduced myself earlier. I have become an avid reader of interracial books in the past few years. My first experience with this genre was Sandra Kitt, but I didn't know that it was its own genre until at leat three years ago. I love reading romance and sci-fi/fantasy books as well. But I love fiction general.

I like (in no particular order)
I/R Paranormal Romances
Extra Sharp Vermont White Cheddar
Shapeshifters>vamps :p
Alcide (good lawd)
Writing
Crafting
Laughing
Wheat Thins...addictive lot those...
Smutty things >:D

2. Although the books have been labeled M/M romance, they're an adventure series with a love story. Peter is a quarterblood Shawnah Indian, and in the first book, his love interest is a North African man.
3. I'm a tall ship sailor in real life. Photos of my current ship, including her cats, here: https://picasaweb.google.com/10849779...
4. I'm mixed blood of Scotch-Irish, Cherokee, and Yamacraw descent in real life, the offspring of generations of interracial romance.
5. I find novels that don't feature diverse characters to be dull. The world is full of interesting people; books should be too!

If clean interracial romance (bw/wm) is what you’re looking for, check out Living Violet when it comes out in January. It’s a teen paranormal romance with a biracial protagonist. There are not many of those in the genre, I’m afraid.
Oooh! That looks awesome. Thanks for the suggestion, Jaime. Definitely adding that one to my reading list. And welcome to all the new members of the group! Hope you enjoy your stay! :-D

My name is Kimberly and I love the IR genre but I'm an all around bookaholic. I love to read and I'm a talker. So I'll probably post a lot!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Thanks for accepting me into the group and I look forward to talking to you all!
Welcome, MJ Kane. I am glad you joined us. This is a great group with a great group of folks here. We all have a variety of tastes, so you should get some good feedback.

Best wishes for success with your new book.

Thanks Delany for the welcome! I will definitely check out the shelf. I have been an avid book reader for years. I read just as much as I right! I've got about 60 books on my shelf right now, have read most of them 2-3 times, but have 9 that's haven't been read at all....lol. Got a few IR's I found on sell at the library. They've been great research too!

Thank you Lady Danielle! I look forward to making new friends! Now, I have to make sure I keep this page up...along with my Twitter and FB and blog and email...Still gotta make time to clean the house, help the kids with homework, pay the bills and write! Life must go on outside of my imagination! lol!

I am Tara Neale and I live in London.
1) I have six children, but only my youngest daughter (5) lives at home. She has epilepsy and I homeschool her, which meant that I had to cut back on work. But this gives me more time to pursue my true love...
2) I am a storyteller. I make this distinction because to me authors are about art and perfection of form. To me, a storyteller is about the characters and storyline and we bend/break a few rules that authors never would.
3) My family looks like the UN. My three oldest children are blonde haired and blue-eyed. My adopted son is dark skinned Mexican-American. My younger son is mixed race white/Mexican-American and my daughter is mixed race white/Black British. I will try and post the picture we took a couple of years ago.It is called the Brood because it is all of them together, which not easy to do once they become adults with lives of their own.
4) My travels have given me different views of race. I was born and raised in the deep South. I remember being six years old and getting a copy of Tiger Beat. The centerfold was double-sided; Donny Osmond and Michael Jackson. I knew which way I was supposed to put it up on the wall, but it did not stop me from sneaking peaks at Michael when no one was looking. I lived for several years in Los Angeles, a city I had always considered utopia and was shocked at how racist it remains. Living for the last five years in London, where on the surface racism is discounted and my mixed race child is actually in the majority, I have discovered the deeper issues of class and culture that underly racism to some degree.
And all of that comes together in my writing and reading.
Welcome Tara. I like you've said that you were a storyteller. I am too. And we do tend to break the writing rules. :)
Storytelling is fun.
