Hi all. I'm a happily-married mother of 4 young adults, 2 of whom are in college, with a third one to go next year. I work 2 p/t jobs because I stayed home my kids when they were babies and only worked p/t as they got older...so now I'm apparently on the permanent p/t track in the minds of employers. I got an English major in college because I've been reading since before I started kindergarten, and writing almost as long. I've gotten essays published for years, but have only been a published author of erotic romance for 2 years. I write M/F contemporary love stories, and since all are consenting adults, usually in their 30s or beyond, they succumb to their lusts and indulge in mind-blowing sex, thinking that's all there is to it. Usually it is the man who realizes that they are meant to be together, and goes all out to prove it to the woman. Most of my books involve IR because I usually write about people living in the Chicago area, and this is a major metro area, with people of many races and nationalities inter-mingling. @ Delilah: Yes, Belgium has 3 official languages: French (which is my mothertongue), Dutch and German! Unfortunaly I didn't understand what you said lol! I can't speak German (although I should!)

Hey Amy, we have a section for non challenge stories. If you want to share a non challenge (interracial) story, then feel free to.

If you check out bookshelves out, you will see a lot of us read non interracial stories as well.

What draws me to a story is tension and no, I'm not talking about sexual tension, because tension doesn't always mean sexual tension.

I also like seeing romance in a romance story.

I'll read a catcher, no matter if it's not an interracial story.

What kind of stories do you write Amy? I'm into contemporary stories. I like reading a good funny chick-lit too.

I'm doing a paranormal challenge for myself, because I'm not a fan of paranormal, but I'm trying something new.

I like reading about dangerous bad boys. :) I love writing about them too.

I definitely love chick-lit too! I am not a real writer, in the sense that I would only write at times when inspiration strikes. I like tension too, that's when it gets interesting. I would say I wrote more drama than comedies. I have never tried to supernatural genre. I'll definitely give it a try!

Amy, I'm giving myself a chick-lit challenge, but that's coming later this year. I'm focusing on my interracial bad boy story - Trespassing and then I'm going to finish my Royal interracial story - Courage that's on this board. And then, I'm going to start my Uniform challenge story on here too. I have so many stories in the work. I definitely have to get back to my His Bodyguard story.

I love writing. It's fun.

Glad there are other PNR and UF fantasy fans here.
I am also glad to meet and here about other writers that I am not familiar with.
As for IR, I have only read a handful. I liked them, but I think I was slow to get into it because contemporary romance was never really my thing so IR didn't cross my radar. Of course, there are more IR's available so maybe the variety will be more apparent.

Hey, everyone. Umnn...four things...

1.) IR books were the first e-books that I ever read. I've read alot more than are in my bookshelf but I can't remember them all.

2.) I prefer Black woman/White male books but I'm getting into Black woman/Asian male stories. Those are really hard to find which is a bummer.

3.) I'm 28 and single because I still haven't found a big, burly man who's military (I admire their bravery and selflessness), owns a security company, drives a motorcycle, loves to read, has a wicked sense of humor, a sharp mind and a love of small pets.

Really, I'm just shy...but I still want all of the above. :)

4.) I'm an artist when I'm not at my 9 to 5.

Laddie, just do as much research as you need to do, and you can readily do that online. People want to read a romance, not a manual on law enforcement anyway.

I just have to say after reading lots of wonderful, funny, insightful posts I wanted to add all of you guys as my friends. I never knew there was a group of people craving new IRR books, I want to read as many as I can although I am partial to paranormal romance, and very partial to IR paranormal romance, so partial in fact I wrote one myself. I am married in an IR relationship, I have two wonderful children, and when I have free time I spend all of it reading, writing, and obsessively checking Goodreads, twitter, and facebook. I love this group! :)

My book is called A Taste of Fire, I just signed with Parker Publishing in April, and I just sent in my final copy of the book on Tuesday and now I'm officially starting edits. I have the first chapter posted here on Goodreads unfortunately that's all I am allowed to share just yet, but I will definitely let everyone know the release date as soon I do.
