I was a "nerd" in high school. Before kids, I would read 5 books per week.
I love to bake.
I hate the cold.
Delilah, I want to add that I was a nerd in high school too and I'm still a nerd. Nerd for life!
Thanks everyone. Delaney, I love dessert too. My favorite thing to bake is Brownies. Yum. I'm still a nerd too you guys and also a bit anti social, stemming from my nerd days. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Hello, I'm Benita , it seems like a lot of people in this group refers to themselves as NERDS, so I feel right at home lol. I love love love to read. My family/Friends tell me it's an addiction, but it's one I will never get rid off lol.
Hi Benita. I feel at home here too and I only joined last night. LoL. It's great being a NERD!!! I've also been told that I'm addicted to reading and maybe I am, but it's such a splendid addiction! Why fight it?

Hello,
I'm Jenny.....
1. I haven't read very many IRR books. One reason I joined this group is to get recommendations.
2. I love Harlequin Presents books with the Sheik theme. Reading those and also some books by Marjorie M. Liu got me interested in reading more IRR.
3. I love to play Just Dance on the Wii with my kids.
4. I'M A NERD!!! Always have been, always will be and they are my favorite kind of people :)

Hello, I’m postcrdprincess. I acquired this name approximately 6 years ago from a co-worker because of my collection of postcards.I love to read, and I mean LOVE IT. I read on average 2-3 books a week. My favorite genre of books is definitely romances. I only learned of IR romances about 2 years ago, and I can’t seem to read enough of them. My favorite in IR romances is BW/WM. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy other types of romance books as well (historical, contemporary, Scottish/highlander, inspirational, etc.)
The two things I won’t leave home without are my Kindle and my laptop, because wherever I go I want to be able to read. Although, most of my books are acquired through digital means, I still like reading the “old fashion” way paperback.LOL I even have my own small library at home that contains more than 300 books.
Well, that is me in a nutshell, although there is more to me then books, but that is a much longer and probably boring story.
Welcome, everyone! You'll get lots of recommendations to fill your TBR pile in this group.@Jenny, I'm a big HP fan, too. That's my favorite Harlequin line.
@postcrdprinces, *waving* good to have you here.
@Kerrina, Hola! Bienvenidos. You'll find plenty of diversity here. I was born and raised in the Caribbean, too. I now live in Atlanta, GA.

Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I'm 21. I live in Belgium and... Im' a little obsessed with anything interracial. So much so that I run a blog about interracial relationships in entertainment (I don't know if advertising is allowed, so I won't post the url now). Anyways, I'm new to the IR genre and don't really know where to start. Could anyone point toward some popular books/authors? Thanks a lot :)
Welcome Amy.
This should be a good place to post your blog address: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3...
Do you write? We do interracial writing challenges on here, in case you want to participate. We have started an IR Royal writing challenge. Mine is not finished yet. I will get back to it this year, but right now, I am working on another interracial story on another group.
I like to read other people work. I don't read erotic stories though and I don't care for detailed sex scenes either.
We are starting a new writing challenge. Theme Men in uniform. You can start that challenge anytime. I will be starting it after I finish Courage on here.
Okay, I will shut up now.

And Danielle made an awesome list of themes that different books may fall into.

We also have a book challenge going on if you dive in whole hog and build up your IR reading.

Hope that helps!

Hi Amy. Welcome to the group! Herzlichen Wilkommen :-) I think German is spoke in Belgium also. This is a wonderful group and a great place to get info on some I/R reads.
Arch, actually it's supposed to be singular. Herzlich Wilkommen, perhaps that's why you didn't recall it. It's hard remembering what's plural from what's singular with German sometimes. Not to mention die, der, das.
