I hope to explore the inter-racial romance once I got a few IS novels read. I have ordered a quite a few books so far.
Cry No more _ Linda Howard
Cold as Ice - Anne Stuart
Pursuit - Elizabeth Jennings
Show No Mercy - Cindy Gerard
NO Control - Shannon Butcher
Unmasking the mercenery- Jennifer Morey
Will need some advice by you seasoned readers on what to explore for the inter- racial romance books. Are there any ones with Asian women in relationships outside their culture ? I am new on this topic so I don't mind exploring the most popular/established books at this stage.
I hope they have good storylines, good character development as well as the romance. Any mystery, suspense added, with an alpha type hero and a plucky heroine who isn't too much of a wilting flower would be a bonus.
Thanks everyone

No Commitment required - Selessia Glass
I'll give you shelter - Can't remember the author at present
That's a great list, Maria.
If you read UF, this heroine is Asian:

To answer your second question, thumbs up to both
No Commitment Required and I'll Be Your Shelter.

Many thanks for this selection. I Really need to catch up fast. I can't wait to read all these books
Cheers
Maria
Double thumbs up! Those are awesome starts! Giselle Carmichael wrote I'll Be Your Shelter I think. Those two are one of my faves that I started the genre off with as well. Hope you enjoy them and welcome to the group, Maria!

I will try my best to write a small review of what I thought of all the books in the relevent sections, I have read. However, I am novice but I am not a great writer and you people write such good critques. I bought alot of the books based on your reviews to be honest.
This is such a good website. It has everything you need to know about books, even non-fiction and sport etc. I wish I found it earlier.
Today, Only 2 books have arrived today Cindy Greard and Linda Howard. At least I can start now.
Cheers
Maria
Goodreads is awesome. Hope you enjoy the books, Maria. I recently read To the Edge by Cindy Gerard, and I really enjoyed it.
Welcome James. It's fine to say you're an author and what book you've written in the intro thread. But the more in-depth info should be posted under promotions.

Umm 4 things about me. Well, lets see... Obviously I love to read, so I won't count that.
1. I've never read an interracial romance so I'm realy excited to check out your bookshelf.
2. I write, but haven't shared my books with very many people.
3. I haven't picked up a a real book in months because I LOVE my Nook.
4. I hate flying! It's not natural. Random, I know but it's a fouth thing and I'm just coming to terms with my... feelings on it.
Thank you Arch for the invite. :)
You are welcome CeCe and welcome to the group. I hope you find some good interracial recommendations on here.
I want you to know a few of us have written stories on here as well.

Peeking in just to say hi. I have so many darn social network sites, it is hard to stay up to date on each. But howdy!

I'm John, an American/Canadian who spent a lot of time in the Middle East and the UK. I've also written a novel with an interracial romance, The End of the Monsoon.
I'm looking forward to reading the posts in this group because I've been in more than one interracial romance (partly through being abroad so much) and am interested to see what motivates bloggers in this group, and what kind of books you like.
As for my own book preferences, I'd like to quote Maria, above: I 'would rather read books by good authors. I am into the hero, the usual alpha and gamma types, even the tortured angst ridden ones will do but no wimps, and the feisty intelligent heroine but with suspense, action and thriller type plots.'
It's 12:11am in Calgary. Tomorrow I'll start exploring this group.
Hey Arch, Ternice, Danielle...
Welcome John...
Sorry I try to be active here, but I have so many WIP's right now I am at least trying to finish those before I head off to Paris in November...
Are we all looking forward to the weekend or what?!

Nice to meet you all..
Hey Pygmy! Welcome to the group. I grew up on SF&F and thrillers myself. :-) I came into romance late but am gobbling up a lot of goodies that I didn't even know existed in the genre!
We have a lot of a genre fans here so if you're looking for romance but alongside SF, fantasy or suspense, we got some recs for ya!
Suzanne Brockmann and Anne Stuart write some kickin' edgy suspense romance. There's also Linnea Sinclair and Eve Kenin for great SF Romance. There's more but I don't want to overwhelm ya!
Hope you enjoy your stay in the group!

Welcome, Pygmy. I second Rae's recommendations for romantic suspense. You might also like Pamela Clare.

I love that you're an aspiring filmmaker, Cheryl! That's a dream of mine, too. :-) I will have to send some recs your way!
We'll have to get you into fits of laughter. It will help relieve the stress as well. :-D

I'm sure your creativity will lead ya in the right direction. :-) I notice a lot of bw directors started out with music videos. You can get really creative with them and we need more storytelling mvids like they used to play in the 80s and 90s. Some of those are works of art themselves (like movie trailers can be also).
I bet Rome was awesome! Italy is so amazing. I hope to go there one day, especially Tuscany which is a dream destination of mine. Have you thought about posting your movie up at Youtube?
Speaking of. This is not a laugh riot vid but hopefully one to put you in a good mood!

Sounds good! I'm not sure if it'll fit in an email but I can give you some external sites that can carry it if it's too heavy. Let me know if you need my email addy and stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing it. :-)

I have been 'lurking' on this board for a while, just haven't gotten around to introducing myself.
I'm Ronique. I'm from Orange County, CA. I read.. a lot. I'm a bookseller, so it's sort of an occupational hazard. I'm a member of paperback swap, and I have an e-reader, at the moment I am up to my ears with books to read! I probably have enough to last through the end of the year, at this point, lol.
Cheryl, no problem! I'm not sure what file format Mac iMovies export to (probably mp4. since it's close to Quicktime) but I can probably convert to watch. It's all good though. We'll figure it out! I look forward to seeing it though. :-)
Hey Ronique! You're a fellow Cali girl! I miss Cali so much. I love that you're a bookseller. You probably get to see all the awesome reads coming up months before the public! Welcome to the group!

Welcome, Ronique! I always wanted to own/run a bookstore. Sadly, I don't have much of a head for business.
