Sandra | 25908 comments Shannon, I get that look several times a week. LOL.

Re the rec - don't do it, there isn't enough time to read all the good books, don't waste what time you've got reading crap.

About the microwave above - it was a little tiny fuse that blew - so it's all fixed. Yay!!!! Love my microwave and my hubby who fixed it.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LMAO! Ya'll are so funny. Glad you were able to get your micro wkin', Sandra. And, Shannon, I'm with Sandra. Thanks, but no thanks! LOL!

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Don't ya hate it when... an author kills off a character (or you think they have) and then they come back in a very unconvincing manner for a happy ending?

It would've made more sense if they'd been brought back as a zombie (in this case) but then there'd be no happy ending.

Caroline (zombiecazz) | 108 comments Don't ya hate it when...you have to be all sensible and put that book down as you have to get up for work in less than 6 hours (or 4 hours).:o(

OMGosh! Just experienced that today in Goddess of the Sea. I don't get it .. why???

Don't ya hate it when you ordered a book but the seller sent you the wrong one.

Sounds like a soap opera - bringing back the dead.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments @Steph - It does, doesn't it?! LOL

message 58: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Did they bring the character back as their wicked twin? LOL!!

message 59: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments LMAO! Nope, still the same person. A wicked twin would've been interesting though. Oh, the drama. Or is that melodrama?

message 63: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Don't ya hate it when... someone spoils a whole series by letting something slip??
I have been waiting (patiently I might add) until Shadowfever came out in PB so I can finally find out the mystery of what/who Barrons is. Avoiding all talk and reviews. SOS has always used the lovely spoiler button and has been mindful of other readers. And now all that has been ruined by a crappy poll of who's the better so-and-so. I'm so angry. WHY???? WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO RUIN AN ENTIRE SERIES BY BEING SO CARELESS??? THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. NOT EVERYONE HAS READ THE SERIES. JUST BECAUSE YOU'VE READ THE BOOK FIRST, DOES THAT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SPOIL IT FOR EVERYONE ELSE??? NO. IT MOST CERTAINLY DOES NOT. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT BARRONS WAS WHICH MADE IT ALL THE MORE INTERESTING.

*sigh*

I'm glad I got that off my chest, I feel a little better. I'm hoping it's either a misleading poll, I read it wrong and it didn't say Barrons or I suffer a convenient memory loss on this bit of information by August.

message 66: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Aww thanks for the support!

message 67: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm so sorry, Hun. Was that spoiler here at SOS? I can't remember anyone blabbing about Barrons. Except for the recent chatter regarding the "battle" on a blog between him and Curran. Please let me know where you saw it.

Again, I apologize, especially if it was here and I didn't catch it.

message 68: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments No SOS has been great!! Everyone here's really good and if someone does accidently say anything (which is easily done) it is quickly sorted out. Don't worry, Steph :)

Yup it was the "battle" on the blog so it gave it away. I don't agree with putting information like that as a general subject. Making a poll on the hottest guy/best heroine or whatever is fine because you're not giving anything away but don't do something that's been a big secret for a lot of people. I'm reading about one hero and then find out about a different one in another series? Not right.

message 69: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Phew! And, shame on them! That is just wrong! I posted the link, but didn't even read thru their post b/c I was torn on goin' with my secret luva Curran and wanting to read KMM's bribe post. So, I feel kinda responsible. Sorry!

message 70: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments No, once again not your fault! It was on Ilona Andrews' blog, I get updates in my emails so that's where I found it. I hold her responsible although she's also responsible for Curran so I forgive her. I should really blame myself too since I was procrastinating at the time but I don't like being angry at me so I won't ;)

message 71: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL! I don't like you being angry with you either. :) Gotcha! Then, big shame on her. Authors should really know better! Ok, I'm off to bed it's almost 4a here, so forgive my rambling. I'm not flyin' on all cylinders.

message 72: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Lol, yes they should! Oh well.

message 73: by Laura Lulu (last edited Jun 06, 2011 12:44PM) (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) | 1603 comments Josie, I just went and checked out Ilona's blog, looking for posts about the alpha showdown poll, and I didn't see any spoilers about Barrons. The only think I could find that might be construed as a spoiler is when Ilona posted this:

I am supposed to remind you to go and vote for your favorite lion. I don’t know if we can win this one, as Barrons has a lot of fans, but thank you for your votes anyway!

But Barrons isn't a lion, so I think she was just being silly there. So if that's what you're talking about, you weren't spoiled. If it's not, let me know where you saw it, I've been sleuthing around her site and am crazy curious now. ;)

message 74: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments Me, too!

message 75: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Me three. :)

message 76: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) | 1603 comments Lol. Now that I read that comment again, I realize what Ilona meant was to go vote for your favorite lion, aka Curran. Not that it was a showdown between lions, right?

Not that that's necessarily the post Josie's talking about anyway. :)

message 77: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Me four!

Yeah, probably lion aka Curran. :)

message 78: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Oh my days. Laura Lulu, you are my idol.

Yes I was talking about that post! I saw that line:

I am supposed to remind you to go and vote for your favorite lion. I don’t know if we can win this one, as Barrons has a lot of fans, but thank you for your votes anyway!

and thought, why is she comparing Barrons to... wait a minute... :O
The first line (now obvious she was describing Curran) made it seem like there was a poll for your favourite lion and Barrons was the competition, it was quite misleading.

I think I was also disappointed that it turned out he was a lion. Now, I love shifters but for Barrons it wasn't interesting enough and with all the fae talk etc it didn't fit the story but was still within the realms of possibility. I thought I should go read through the whole post but was scared to find out anything else. It was a glance and click-off-the-page-as-fast-as-you-can.

You don't know how happy I am right now (even though I have to go do an under-prepared uni exam in like an hour), first I get an email saying they have my HtM order and now THIS!!!! Thank you LLL and co for clearing it up. You're literal stars :)

message 79: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yay Josie & LLL! Woohoo! I was really frustrated too, wondering, "How in the hell(o dolly) could an author think it was okay to throw out a spoiler like that?!?!" I'm so glad it turned out not to be as you'd thought.

I'm so happy for ya, hun. Now, get to readin' the rest of that series so you don't have to dodge spoilers any longer. ;)

PS: Hope you did well on uni exam!

message 80: by Josie (last edited Jun 07, 2011 10:26AM) (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Ha, well we'll see with the exam.
Thank you! I'm so pleased that it wasn't the case too. Unfortunately, I can't read it yet, I'm getting the PB in August as I can't really afford (or like) HB. My excitement for reading it is back though and it'll be a lovely summer read!!

message 81: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments "it'll be a lovely summer read!!" It sure will. :)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) | 1603 comments Josie wrote: "The first line (now obvious she was describing Curran) made it seem like there was a poll for your favourite lion and Barrons was the competition, it was quite misleading."

You are very welcome. :) And this was exactly how I read it at first, too. And I read Shadowfever and knew Barrons wasn't a lion, but the wording still made me read it that way. Then I realized she was just saying "Go vote for Curran", except instead of using his name, she used "your favorite lion".

Shadowfever (view spoiler) Do not click this spoiler if you haven't finished the series! Consider yourself warned. ;)

message 83: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments Don't ya hate it when...the book you are reading doesn't end the way you thank it shoud end.

message 86: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Gah, yes! Sometimes the book is so wacky at the end, I wonder if the same author that started it, finished it. Multiple personality must be an author affliction.

message 87: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Well done Laura!

message 88: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Oh you guys! You bunch of teasers, a warning in big, bold font is just asking for trouble lol! I refrained though but any other book I would've pressed that spoiler button ;)

message 89: by Judithe, Soap Operas never end.... (new)

Judithe | 6566 comments *smirk* Enjoy reading, and come check it out again at the end of summer!

message 90: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) | 1603 comments Lol! Yes, definitely come back and read my spoiler when you finish Shadowfever. I have a feeling you'll get a kick out of it. ;)

Sorry! Did that make the spoiler even more tempting? Ha. :)
