Carrie Vaughn has a new hardcover out,
. Anyone heard anything about this one, or read it? I didn't even know it existed until I walked by it in Safeway. I haven't seen it mentioned in this group at all (or maybe I just missed it?).

I have read it and gave it 2 stars. I just think this book could have been so much more than it was. It could have been the start of a cool search-for-mythology-items themed, dystopian series, but as one book it just falls flat. There just wasn't enough development of the plot or the characters. I usually like Carrie Vaughn's work, particularly her Kitty Norville series, but this one doesn't measure up to those. If you are looking to read something of this theme, I'd suggest Neil Gaiman's American Gods instead.
I also gave it 2 stars. The book jumps back and forth between too many story lines, none of which are fully developed. This either needed to be a longer book or a series.
