Dixie (dixiescott) The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, Just Listen and Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen, and the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers (I know, series is totally old, but they unlock more secrets with each read). And then there are probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Lisa | 8 comments hello.im not sure how this website works but i have been trying desperately to find a book.im looking for a book i read in elementary school.it was a book involving a child terrorist.the main character is a boy, he and his friend discover that a girl in their school, posing as a duchess from another country,is part of a terrorist group.they are all young.i don't remember much from the book except for three things.in the begining, one of the main characters school mates is poisoned, when she adds salt to her soup during lunch.the "salt" was like some sort of tester to see how the poison worked, the "duchess" put it there. she only was knocked out, she didnt die. after that the book says the terrorist was being driven home by her like driver, she has the salt shaker.then in the end, the boy and the girl have become friends, hes helping her like escape her family cause i guess she doesnt want to be a terrorist anymore.she tells him a story about how she was trained in the desert.her friend died during their training, and she had to leave her there to die or she would die too.then somewhere in the middle, the boy finds a doll and notes that it resembles the girl.(the focus of the book is his finding this place where the doll ended up being.some kind of underground secret thing, he and his friend find, then he discovers about the girl, etc.)oh and also at one point there is a bombing.but not a big one.i dont think anyone was hurt.thats all i remember.it was an incredible story.like seriously insanely good for a book in a n elementary school library.it one that one award where there's a big gold circle thing on the book.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

In my entire lifetime, there has only been one book I've read more than twice. It was when I was a little girl and I was hooked on the Goosebumps Series by R.L. Stine. The book I loved the most was The Headless Ghost. I was so addicted to this one book, I read it about 10 times in a year.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

Jane Eyre, over and over and over again. I have re-read Gone with the Wind three times.

message 63: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 22, 2011 10:50PM) (new)

The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams I've read this one so many times I've had to tape the cover back on my copy. I never get tired of it.

I also find myself reading the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton over and over again. Those are the ones I read if when I finish reading something and can't decide what to read next. They're my fall back books. I finally had to get them all as ebooks because I was told (by my husband) that I couldn't keep replacing them after I've worn out several copies of Guilty Pleasures.

Twilight fans often ask me if I'm team Edward or team Jacob. My common response is, "I'm team Edward. Except my Edward isn't a vampire, he kills them with a flame thrower."

It really takes a special book for a repeat.

message 66: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 20 comments The Neverending Story by Michael Ende I have read this book so many times, I'm in love with the story.
I was never allowed to read Harry Potter as a kid. I bought Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling against my mothers wishes and read it over and over and over again.
I've also read Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne more times than I can count

message 67: by Becomingme (new)

Becomingme | 10 comments Add me to the growing list of those who will re-read a beloved tome...Jane Eyre, the Harry Potter books, David Eddings (Belgariad/Mallorean series), Servant to the Bones (Ann Rice), The Shining Falcon (Josepha Sherman)...and the list goes on...but these are some of my ultimate favs...and I just know I'm leaving some out...like the original OP, I re-read a lot for comfort too...when I'm not feeling so good, I just pick up one of these books and feel just a bit better.

message 74: by Julia (new)

Julia (taspsandiego) | 24 comments Funny thing, I could never really get into The Catcher in the Rye, but I read it in Portuguese. I read somewhere that the original works better, but I don't know. Maybe I'll read it in English sometime.

Agatha Christie is one author I read over and over again. Even when I know the killer, it's still a thrill.

BubblesTheMonkey (goodreadscombookhorseluver) | 49 comments Jane Eyre, Uglies Series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Hunger Games series, Twilight series, Pride and Prejudice (well, reread most of it, anyways :), and quite a few others that I can't remember at the moment.

Yeah, I think it is probably because it was my first literary love. When I was maybe seven or eight years old I read over thirty Agata Christie's novels in a year...

Gorfo Julia wrote: "Gorfo wrote: "Julia wrote: "Funny thing, I could never really get into The Catcher in the Rye, but I read it in Portuguese. I read somewhere that the original works better, but I don't ..."

Wow...I think my problem is that I read And Then There Were None and it was just so good that every other Agatha Christie kinda paled in comparison

message 79: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) I've re-read Harry Potter every summer since book 3. For some reason this winter I re-read some of the Preston and Child Pendergast series. Partly because I didn't read them in order. *LOL* I never get tired of re-reading Shakespeare Plays. I've also re-read Michael Scott's the Nicholas Flammel series. Oh and one of my very favorites to re-read: Fahrenheit 451.

Murder on the Orient Express or The Murder of Roger Ackroyd?

Nope! Do you think I should?

message 82: by Julia (new)

Julia (taspsandiego) | 24 comments Murder on the Orient Express is a must regarding mystery novels, some fans even saying they enjoy it more than And Then There Was None.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is pretty decent until the very end, where it will either completely blow your mind or leave you slightly frustrated. In my case, it's one of my favorite endings, and I think you should give it a try.

Johnnybgoode | 8 comments and there was none was my first agatha christie and the rest are just so in the village, old lady snooping and everything, it was an anti climax for me. and there was none just matches up to the standards of todays writers too.
catcher in the rye? I read it over and over the first couple of times cos I didn't like it and I hate not liking a book that is called a classic and even now I'm not sure I like it, I read it a lot but I'm still not really sure if it's good or I like it. but I get a good feeling when i read it so I'm guessing I must like it someway.

When I finished reading The Catcher in the Rye I just had this depressed feeling like nothing good happened in the book. It was like nothing actually happened the whole time you're reading. I don't remember what rating I ended up giving it but I think it was on the high side. It's the kinda book that you think is good after thinking it through a lot. Actually reading it just makes it harder to decide

Jean | 1 comments Definitely SPA by B.F. Camis

Spa by B. F. Camis

It's fiction but it's like the Bible because there are so many quotable lines like "Anything less than perfection is failure." Every time you read it it becomes deeper and makes more sense especially if you're pro animia. The sexual scenes alone are too intense not to read them again and again. It's like a Dan Brown novel full of secret and hidden symbolism also so that the more you know the more you'll see which makes you again read it again. I can't say enough about this book it's just literally stunning.

message 89: by Kayci (new)

Kayci (kayci24) Ender's Game
Speaker for the Dead
Xenocide
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
Neuromancer
American Gods
The Good Earth
Middlesex

They're all books I've read at least four times, and could pick a point at random in the book and just start reading.

message 90: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Diana Gabaldon's Outlander Series, I've reread those books several times.

If I get a new book in any of my series that I haven't read in a while I will go back and reread them sometimes.

I reread all my books that I keep otherwise I wouldn't bother keeping them.

message 92: by Tom (new)

Tom Bensley (bensley56) When I was a kid I used to read books over and over all the time. I think I read the original Goosebumps series four times over (you could ask me anything about them, seriously) but now I almost never do. Except for Stephen King's IT. I'm not even a massive fan of the rest of his work, or of this particular horror, even. There's just something about this book. I think I'll probably read it at least once a year for the rest of my life.

I have cousins and friends who weren't allowed to read it because of religious reasons too, you'd be surprised by who strongly fear of things that might seem pagan still continue to affect our society
