Some people I know find it really strange that others re-read books again and again but I find it such a comfort to re-read books I love!

What is your list of books you read over and over?

I love reading Ella Enchanted over and over again too!

I love re-reading Harry Potter and Graceling, and Anything written by Gail Carson Levine

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

:D and yet i still haven't been able to buy it! i love gail carson levine. ^^

message 6: by Gorfo (new)

Gorfo Funny thing is I lost my copy of Ella Enchanted when I moved a couple years ago and I only read Graceling cause I bought it as someone's birthday present and decide to read it before I gave it to them. Whenever I see that person I borrow and read that book.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Aw. that sucks. i've just checked it out of the library a billion and one times.
i want to read graceling. my friends has it and i've been meaning to borrow it too.

message 8: by Gorfo (new)

Gorfo Yep I've been meaning to buy it back for a while now. And when I borrow books from my friends or vice versa things get confused. Once I went to my friends house and saw my book on her shelf and I was like "hey isn't that mine?" and she said "oh I thought u gave it to me!" SHE'D MOVED TO ANOTHER STATE!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

lol XD Well, i only really borrow from one friends a lot and she tends to not borrow from me so i'm ok. :D

message 10: by Gorfo (new)

Gorfo Lol. We have no idea who's books are really whose. The worst part is we all own a lot of the same books so I might end up with so and so's copy with the alternate ending she's pasted in.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

lol alternate ending? niiiiice. we just whine about to book to each other or torture one another with book secrets.

message 12: by Gorfo (new)

Gorfo Lol we do that to but one of my friend claire didn't own the book Rumors Rumors (Luxe, #2) by Anna Godbersen and she was really unhappy with the ending. I didn't really care cause my favorite character was someone totally different. So she asked to borrow my copy and I thought "oh she hasn't rd it yet. sure u can" i get it back 2 weeks later with an alternate ending paper clipped in that has ninjas and unicorns in it!

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

lol ninjas and unicorns??? sounds like me and my friends. :D

message 14: by Gorfo (last edited Aug 09, 2010 08:24PM) (new)

Gorfo Oh yes. This is totally unrelated to the topic but on my first day on facebook i got into an EPIC fight about ninjas versus pufferfish.

But back to the actual topic. I've also re-read Paper Towns Paper Towns by John Green by John Green too many times to count. John Green is a crazy genius! All good writers are crazy in my opinion!

I just love it!

message 16: by Orchid (new)

Orchid (bearbebrave) Favorite re-reads: Hacking Harvard- Robin Wasserman (I've read it at least 12 times), In the Forests of the Night- Amelia Atwater Rhodes (Can't remember how many times I've read it), The Princess Diaries series- Meg Cabot (re-read the whole series each time a new book was published), Harper Hall trilogy- Anne McCaffrey (one of my all-time faves), Midnighters- Scott Westerfeld. I doubt that's all of my re-reads, but I can't think of any others at the moment. ^_^

Brenda | 100 comments Hmm looks interesting Gorfo, gonna add it to my list.

This is a YA paranormal romance set in durrent day deep south ( no VAMPS). It does have ghosts and angels. It is spooky and exciting and a great love story.

Appropriate for middle school and up.

Mackenzie | 6 comments I am most definitely one of those people who can re-read books.

Alanna the Lioness Series by Tamora Pierce over and over again. Such a good series

Harry Potter for sure. Usually in no particular order, mostly whatever I am in the mood for

I have re-read the Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins and am thinking about another re-reader

The Dear America Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie ever since I was a little girl

The Host by Stephanie Meyers (mostly towards the middle past the boring stuff)

And then the Uglies series by Scott WEsterfeld

message 41: by Brandt (last edited Feb 17, 2011 03:02AM) (new)

Brandt I have a bad habit of rereadíng a lot of my favourite books instead of finding new ones..
Colleen McCullough's The roman family series is something i always comes back to, Its a historical series about the roman republics last years.
Her take on Ceasar is fascinating, the series starts before Ceasar is born, and the protagonists are the most important men and women on the time, when ceasar is born you follow him, first as a child prodigy, then as a coming-man politically, as a soldier and a general in war, and at last as a dictator in rome.
Is a quite comprehensive series, but worth every second of the time it takes to read..
I recommend it highly if you have any interest in the roman republic, or history in general..

Then of course i also often returns to the last 4 Harry Potter books, they are perfect for a familiar unchallenging mind-escape :P

message 42: by Rashmi (new)

Rashmi Talpade | 1 comments Truly Madly Deeply. It brings out a new angle in the story every time I set my eyes on it. Touching story!Truly, Madly, Deeply.

message 43: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Sol | 27 comments freak the mighty. bit i dont usually read books over and over again. i like that one moment in reading a book

message 44: by Julia (new)

Julia (taspsandiego) | 24 comments I'm afraid I am also a serial Harry Potter reader. I've read the whole series several times, and I'm doing it again in honor of the movies. But, when I was younger, I was borderline obsessed. Funny thing was that the book I'd read the most is the one people usually don't really like, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

When I was about seven-eight years old, still waiting for the translation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and with way too much free time, I read it about 27 times. Seriously.

N.M. Martinez Elese wrote: "Hm... I love reading Ella Enchanted. And The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, The Young Wizards series. lol ^^"

I love A little Princess and The Secret Garden. I've been wanting to re-read them recently! I may have to look into the other two books you mention just because, lol.

Every other year or so I re-read Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

message 46: by Sille (new)

Sille (sssiiillleee) I've read Harry Potter so many times I have lost my count. :D
Then I have read Paul Street Boys and Bitten (as well as other books from this series - although not as much as Bitten) numerous times.
And then, of course, Trudi Canavan's books.
Atm I am trying to fight against reading Vampire Academy over again since I just read it the first time and am afraid that if I remember everything all too well, I might not enjoy it as much as I did the first time.

message 47: by Amudha (new)

Amudha (amudhasenthil) i have read "silent honor by danielle steel".. now am planning to read again books like Jane Eyre, little women.

message 48: by Desirée (new)

Desirée (desirel) | 5 comments I've grown up reading and rereading the books by Michael Ende, especially Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver and the Neverending Story. I still read them very, very often. Also, I've been reading Paul Auster's Oracle Night about every two years since I first stumbled over it, as well as Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim (which I'm planning on rereading as soon as spring has come). And I've read the Harry-Potter-series quite often, too. When I first learned Spanish I ploughed my way through the first installment, which actually worked quite well, as I knew it alomst by heart.

message 49: by Angelic (new)

Angelic | 5 comments Yeah! Love to re-read a lot of the books I have!! But sometimes when I go to the bookstore I wish I could buy them again! Jejeje...new book, new begining! ;-)

message 50: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (chlojoreads) | 5 comments I've read each harry potter book at least six times. and I love the great and terrible beauty trilogy by libba bray as well.

and as much as it pains me to say this my copy of twilight is pretty battered and abused from reading.

but the book I re-read most often is the bell jar.
