This is from KC's web site re when the new version of Shadowland will be posted:

"...it depends on when I get the artwork. If it is on the 3rd, then the story should go up then, too. But as a warning, we usually tinker with the art slightly before it's posted, so it may be the fifth or sixth or so. No promises to get me into trouble this time!"

Yes, its the original one she pulled because she wasn't happy with it. Then Maeve and someone else found it on google-docs & posted for us, I think. I just don't know if it would be okay to post somewhere on our KC group.
Anyone have any ideas?

Ms. Chance asked that people not distribute black-market copies of Shadowland, so I've taken it off Google Docs. If you didn't get a chance to save it to your hard drive I'm really sorry, but she is The Author, so her word is law. You'll just have to wait for her new-and-improved version.

BTW, she mentioned that the Shadowland prequel is called "A Family Affair".

When Karen Chance was posting the original story of Shadowland chapter per chapter.....I did not want to read it too quickly so I never got to finish it before she removed it from her website. Damn...I'll never know how it finished originally. Guess I'll have ot make do with the new and improved version.

It didn't finish, originally: she took it down before it was done. So we're all in the dark with you :)

I know but I waited to read the next chapter to read two together and the next thing I know...it's no longer on the website...so I am effectively missing one chapter. i does not really matter at this point if the full is available soon.

I dreamed last night that KC posted Shadowland, and the funny thing was instead of waking up right before the good bit, which usually seems to happen in dreams, I got to read the story and it was awful! It had nothing to do with the original plot and it wasn't even from Pritkin's POV! On the other hand, maybe it was good that it was terrible, because I woke up and thought, thank God KC is a better writer than my subconscious. That's when I realized I'd crossed the thin line between obsession and insanity. Happy days, sigh :D

I don't think there's a set date for it, KC said she wouldn't be doing that again, so I think the stories come out when they come out. Although I'd love to have date to count down to.

As long as all the short story drama doesn't affect the timely delivery of the full length books, I'll be happy. I just don't want all of her focus on putting up an awesome freebie about Pritkin to take her attention away from writing Cassie #5.

I have it down as Cassie#5 being released around June 2011 (cos I'm sad like that)
I hope she's finished it! Still need to read all the Dorina books (a little ashamed that I haven't already) so I've at least got something to read until then!!
Yeah I don't think there's a set date but it says the 30th so that's what I'm counting down to!!

I vaguely recall KC saying that she was on scedule with Cassie #5 (to be released in April 2010!) but her editor had postponed the date anyway. So that would imply that she's done with Cassie and is writing Dory and some other shorts for the freebies and anthologies.

KC said on her forum that she was trying to get the stories out by the 7th...but she didn't say what month. We all assumed it was August but that obviously is not the case. I have been moving the date for the group read out as the date approaches, but there is no solid date.

oh....i really am getting rather impatient now!! want to read shaodwland!! but i have got the mammoth book of paranormal romance 2 arrived with one of her shorts in! is goood so far... pacing myself with this one. it's very hard to tho!! lols x x x

I think I'm going to have to re-read everything. I keep getting characters from Jeanine Frost mixed up. i.e. Mencheres and Mircea...I feel like an idiot. Such limited time to read cause I have a 7 year old and am a single mom. By the way, I love my e-book reader!!! That way I can carry all of my books with me everywhere. Can't wait until she posts "Shadowland" again.
