BRNTerri | 86 comments What's the most money you've spent, including shipping, on buying an out of print romance book?

I spent $16 for the Lisa Kleypas novel Love Come to Me and the book was terrible.

I sent $13 for The Silver Devil by Teresa Denys. I got rid of it, regretted it and had to buy another one a couple of years ago! That was a lesson learned and I won't let it happen again with any book.

Love love | 120 comments The most I have spent was 25$ for "Stormfire" Stormfire by Christine Monson . I loved it and I don't regret spending the $$. I would have bought The Silver Devil The Silver Devil by Teresa Denys but I read somewhere that it is in first person. I just can't read first person.

SmittenKitten | 189 comments I am SO guilty for when it comes to shelling out the big bucks for out-of-print romances...

$20 each for Lisa Kleypas's Where Passion Leads and Forever My Love
$30 for Into the Fire (a sci-fi romance)
$30 each for The Silver Devil and The Flesh and the Devil

... just to name a few.. ouch!!

The sci-fi part of Into the Fire is really good, but the romance part is just OK. The characters "get together" really quickly whereas I prefer more build up. For anyone interested in sci-fi romance, my favorite so far is Games of Command which has two unique aspects in comparison to most romances: the heroine is in her 30s and the hero is basically a 40-year old virgin cyborg... it's totally awesome!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) I paid about $11 for Zinia by Jayne Castle used on AMazon only to find otu a short time later that they were finally being released. I'm still kind of ticked at that because I had checked the author's website and it stated that none of her back tiles were going to be reissued because she wanted to focus on her new stuff. And of course the copy I got isn't even postable on PBS.

I've been tempted to buy a copy of The Windflower by Laura London somewhere. But I have such a huge TBR (900+) that I just add them to my PBS WL and hope I get them someday. (I've gotten several out of print bodice rippers from PBS at this point).

BRNTerri | 86 comments Joeera, is $2 the most you've ever spent for an out of print book?
