Peggy (peggyullmanbell) | 11 comments Not much left but to record them. I've been corresponding with CreateSpace about adding audiobooks to their lineup.

Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 3 comments I have "Don't Mess With Earth" on Kindle and Smashwords. I've sold a few on Kindle(was up to the top 100 for a few days) and so far none on Smashwords. How do you promote books that are downloaded to a computer?

The secret is in the tower. The problem is the beast. The answer is two thieves.
When a destitute young woman hires two thieves to help save her remote village from nocturnal attacks, they are drawn into the schemes of the wizard Esrahaddon. While Royce struggles to breech the secrets of an ancient elven tower, Hadrian attempts to rally the villagers to defend themselves against an unseen killer. What begins with the simple theft of a sword places the two thieves at the center of a firestorm — that could change the future of Elan.

SAMPLE REVIEWS (All Reviews)
"Avempartha is another strong entry that exceeds its predecessor in both depth and scope. The Riyria Revelations is shaping up to be one of the most original and entertaining fantasy series I’ve seen in years on par, and often better, than anything any of the major publishers have to offer. Get reading people!"King of the Nerds Fantasy Reviews

"In short, “Avempartha” is highly, highly recommended and a novel that raises Michael Sullivan’s The Riyria Revelations to “major league” status."Fantasy Book Critic

"I HIGHLY recommend both books, and cannot wait until the next is released! I have to also say that Michael J. Sullivan is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!"Ramblings & More

ABOUT THE SERIES
Avempartha is book two of the multi-book saga: The Riyria Revelations. Instead of a string of sequels this six-book fantasy series was conceived as a single epic tale divided into individual episodes. All were written before the first was released so that plot elements are intertwined, yet each is self-contained and can be read independently from each other. Avempartha can be enjoyed by those who have not read the first episode: The Crown Conspiracy.

Liz The first book in my parnormal romance series, My Love Eternal, is available on Kindle. Haven't recieved any statements yet, so I can't comment on how well its doing sales-wise, but I have been getting a lot of good feedback.

Kelley (kheckart) | 2 comments I have 3 books on Kindle. I'm hoping that the growing popularity of the Kindle will improve my sales.

Al | 20 comments Based on my limited experience, my advice is to be patiently stubborn and not to overlook Smashwords. In the two years the Distant Cousin series has been out in ebook format it's had over 1200 downloads, not including free samples at Amazon. That's not Dan Brown class, but it's not bad, really.

Kelley (kheckart) | 2 comments I have been hearing people talk about Smashwords. I will have to check it out. Thanks for mentioning it.

message 60: by Cliff (new)

Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 3 comments To update what I said earlier...

Both Out of Time and Don't Mess With Earth are now on Smashwords.com, and they're a very reasonable price. I've gotten more people reading Don't Mess With Earth when I offered a free coupon for it than I have in the entire year it's been out and for sale. Having readership is more important than making money in the beginning, but if I had used Create Space instead of a really expensive POD it wouldn't hurt so much! lol

Aaron Hoopes | 2 comments Peggy, I'm using smashwords as well as Kindle. Haven't seen much traffic at Smashwords yet, but kindle seems to be doing well.

Peggy (peggyullmanbell) | 11 comments I just lowered the price on my Kindle books to push more and get more word of mouth advertising.

message 63: by Marva (new)

Marva All four of my books are 99 cents through this month. After that, I'm going to see how the new $2.99/70% royalty thing goes.

I've been advertising fo the .99 sale through the Kindle forums. Ones like "Kindle Books Under a Buck". People seem to read some of those looking for bargains. Otherwise, I just put up an occasional tweet and facebook posting.

message 64: by Chester (new)

Chester | 3 comments I have my first four Greg McKenzie mysteries and the first Sid Chance mystery at the Kindle Store (is.gd/dzwcF). They're all priced at $1.99. I may up that a buck soon to get in on the 70% royalty deal.

Made DNA (madeindna) | 3 comments My Kindle books have all sold extremely well since I started selling them on the Kindle. I use SmashWords as well. SmashWords sales are minimal. Kindle sales are growing in strength with each month. I plan to upload my work to B&N's pubit when it goes online this year too.

As to how I promote... well that's tricky. I'm not sure how I'm getting my sales, but I do promote myself on FaceBook, Twitter, and other SNS accounts. I do it lightly though. I don't want to irk my friends, family and readers.

Lisa Yarde (lyarde11751) I had the Kindle version of my book available before the paperback. My paperback sales have continued, but there haven't been any Kindle sales this month. I think the hardest part of marketing is that many people aren't aware that you do not need a Kindle device to read a book. For several months I have read Kindle books using the application for Blackberry - lots of scrolling but suits my needs. On Falcon's Wings

P.Q. Glisson | 1 comments Hi everyone! I found this group just a minute ago when accepting a friend request and perusing their profile.
My debut novel, Her Sanctuary is available in ebook, Kindle and Nook format.
Sales from amazon.com are promising.
As far as promoting the book, I make sure I list the formats and where to get them. I hit all the social networks such as facebook, goodreads, email, blogs...
It's tedious and slow but because I have hung in there, 703 peeps on goodreads have marked it "to read", I've made over 1400 friends and have 53 ratings and 28 reviews. Three book clubs have chosen my book as their monthly read. I've been in three publications and on a local talk radio.
You just have to keep plugging along. Don't give up.
