I've missed the Lou Boldt line....Art of Deception was my favorite, I think. Glad to see R. Pearson has brought him back at least partially!

Okay, I apologize, by the silence, it appears I've killed yet another thread. Maybe someone else can start a new game so others can participate again.
T, you haven't killed it at all. I've been away for a couple of days, and in reading your clues, I know I've been acquainted with this character. Thought it might be Dalgliesh, but no. Bosch, but no. I'm still thinking.
Whew! On another board, I've noticed that threads die after I comment, thought it was following me. :-)

Scout: you got it! My next clue would have had to be the Vietnamese body guard....Or that the author's cousin has been collaborating on the books, while being an author on his own himself....(PS...I'm a single malter... :-) )
Oh, T. My college roommate tried to convert me, but no luck. Enjoy! This character, in both movie and book, kills and yet is innocent. I guess I should say that he's trying to solve a mystery.

I don't remember him as a solve, and I'm not going back to look. I'm done giving clues, and Lobstergirl got it.
Your turn. I'm looking forward to your clues, Lobstergirl.
I had amnesia too (like Bourne). I forgot we'd done him. And not that long ago either - Aug. 25. Anyway!1) This detective is female.

3) Her love life is terrible. Dates are scarce.
4) When we first get to know her, she's living at home with her parents.

It seems that she's English. I would have guessed Miss Marple, but the dates are wrong. I'm at a loss here. Hope someone's more well-read than I.
