message 87: by Bryan (last edited Aug 14, 2010 06:46PM) (new)

Bryan Kornele (bkornele) Not Holmes. Doyle was just one of many authors that Strand published, among those was Queen Victoria and Winston Churchill. I think that is kind of cool. Strand is now back in production. http://www.strandmag.com/

Vince (vchile) | 163 comments Remind me never to play "Trivial Pursuit" against you. Had to go thru author's links to get Thorpe Hazell. If that's it, and it better be, I defer to any one else, as I'm going out.

message 90: by Bryan (new)

Bryan Kornele (bkornele) That is correct. Thorpe Hazell was created by author Victor Whitechurch.

message 91: by Vince (new)

Vince (vchile) | 163 comments Whew! I'll be out all day looking for Thorpe Hazell books, so feel free to step in with a new challenge. (Maybe something obscure for a change.) :-)

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Easy? That's not the word I would use :)
Your last riddle was quite something Brian. Had to google it, interesting character. And thanks for the Strand link, like that!

Vince's guess sounds likely for this one. Can't get all the clues right though. Radio? Not that I read it, only saw the film long ago. Nice classic.
