I was wondering if I could use an author from an anthology for my "A Author". There is like 13 short stories in the novel & at least two of the authors have first or last names that begin with A.

Would Bloodfever count for the archeology category? The story is about a women in search of a book of black magic called Sinsar Dubh.
You might take a look at Alex Archer's Rogue Angel series. The heroine is an archeologist, almost like a Lara Croft.
and so on...Quick, light reads.
Danielle wrote: "Would Bloodfever count for the archeology category? The story is about a women in search of a book of black magic called Sinsar Dubh."Yes. I was also thinking of using any of Showalter's Lord of the Underworld books since they are also looking for some ancient artifact.

Good idea!
FlibBityFLooB wrote: "Need some hints on archeology/museum and germany... :)"Have you read The Book Thief yet? Good an excuse as any.
I love that book, even if it made me cry.
Alyssa Day's Atlantis books have everyone searching for long lost jewels. Plus hot, powerful men, smart ass women and all the things they do together ;)
Mahyar wrote: "Can I use The Darkest Whisper for "Archeology"? Because they're searching for artifacts, no?"See msg #7.

You beat me to it Yz--rhat was exactly what I was going to recommend for Germany. It is an exceptional book.
And for #6, Charles from Patricia Briggs' Alpha & Omega series is a Native American, as is Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock. Actually, now that I think of it, doesn't Mercy Thompson also have NA blood? Her bio father was a Native American. As well as a coyote shifter. :)

Oooh! Thank you.
For the Germany one, I think Ashes of Midnight would work...first setting is Germany, and I think Andreas is German...but can't remember exactly...
Some suggestions for Germany:The True Story of Hansel and Gretel(set in Poland but with tons of German characters)
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (set in Berlin)
Laura Lulu wrote: "Actually, now that I think of it, doesn't Mercy Thompson also have NA blood? Her bio father was a Native American. As well as a coyote shifter. :)"True, true! I'd be very happy if I can use Mercy Thompson for this one. ;)
I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but the heroine in Karen Rose's Die For Me is an archaeologist. Also, Elisabeth Naughton's Stolen trilogy (Stolen Fury, Stolen Heat, Stolen Seduction) features archaeologists and/or searching for artifacts.
Yz, how did you pick Germany? Italy, France, Ireland, Greece, and Mexico seem to appear all the time. Germany? I already gave the assignment to the librarians.

I had won this book a while back but The Legacy by TJ Bennett is set in Germany. I just hope it's good b/c I think its the only book that I have to fit that category.
I picked up a couple of Sheri Whitefeather books on ebay within the last 2 weeks, quite by chance - she writes NA.

Thanks!
To read a book from a B-day celebrant it has to be a book that that person has read or can it be from their TBR's too?
Penny - As long as the book is in one of the birthday celebrant shelf (be it read, TBR, wishlist, etc.) I consider it good. :)
Another archeology/Smithsonian suggestion is Elizabeth Lowell's Tell Me No Lies
. An antiquites expert finds herself invovled in the investigation into artifact smuggling. I've reread this book quite a few times, it's one of my favorites.
I'm having trouble finding a book for the Archeology one that suits my taste, the only one I'm reading that is remotly close is Charlie and the Chocolate factory, "Everyone is serching/scavenging for the Golden Tickets, and Willy Wonka is looking for someone to leave his Factory to", can I use it? I know is a stretch, but..., pretty please.

But if you really want to read the book, go ahead.
