Sarah | 13814 comments My sisters and I held the chuppah poles at our father's second wedding a couple of years ago. We couldn't look at each other for all the giggles. We actually had to surreptitiously switch positions so that we weren't looking directly across at each other. In one picture of my middle sister from that ceremony she looks like she is summoning a thundercloud, and I remember seeing that expression on her face and knowing it was the only thing she could do to keep from laughing.

Mary JL (maryjl) | 250 comments Misha: Definitely bacon. I know it is bad for you so I eat it sparingly; but it has such a unique taste all its own.

I second that heartily. RA's threads are my favorites. And I love that, like Sally, he's been adjusting thread titles lately, too. :) Plus... he seems like he's an awesome dad and teacher and all around fun, funny, neat neat neat person.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

I came into the nice room last night because I was feeling depressed. It really works, Barb immediately cheered me up. I owe her a big hug.

There are so many lovely people here, the difference in the time zone often makes it hard for me to catch up with the threads so I feel left out. That is not a reflection on anyone here, just a problem with me. Thanks to everyone in TC. I thought about listing names & saying nice things about them but the list would be endless. I might miss someone and hurt their feelings. I would never want to do that.

Sarah | 13814 comments Is there decaf? I'm done with that conversation too.

message 75: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Same...sigh...and dehydrated anyway so the coffee and alcohol are both a bad idea. Maybe I'll have a smoothie instead.

I am so with you Misha, I have a bit of a phobia for anything slimy. That is what I get for checking out the TMI thread.

Can I have one too Sarah Pi? It looks delish.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I recently purchased a Ninja (it's sort of an upside-down blender and food processor) and that thing is AWESOME for making smoothies.

It's far better than any blender I've ever owned, and less than half the price at Target of the blender I almost bought that was almost a hundred bucks.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Misha, you are a sweetheart.

Maybe if you stay in here long enough health reform will sort itself out. :)

Because slacking off on the computer is far more fun than cleaning house.

message 82: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Dawwww... I'm sorry about the TMI thread posts. I'll delete my contributions if you'd like. I'd love a smoothie, too. That sounds wonderful right about now!

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't do that Heidi. TMI is for TMI after all. You read them at your own risk. Come here and enjoy a smoothie with us. :)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I was just trying to be considerate. This is The Nice Room, after all.

I think I just want nanners in my smoothie, maybe a bit of yogurt... with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Num!

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Dawwww... thank you, Misha! ♥

Right now I'm on a Cute Overload :D kick. CO:D will cure most anything. The carpet-stealing raccoon has me tickled pink. I keep watching him over and over!!! He's the cutest little thief, ever!

OH!!! And I ♥ the picture of the piglet squid. I found it through the link at this post.

I thought you had whores for that purpose, Stacia.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Not yet. I have to win the lottery first.

Come on, cleaning lady whores can't be that expensive.

message 89: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Aug 06, 2010 12:17PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) To make Misha happy because I like happy.

/hugs

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yes, but only if I can get another smoothie because I'm quite thirsty today.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Isn't this thread about being happy, and don't whores produce happy endings?

This is The Nice Room thread... let's keep it clean and kind here, folks. If you want to talk about whores - you can bring that to the TMI thread... or elsewhere. Not here, please. Misha's thread... Misha set the guidelines. We've been compliant so far. Thanks. Carry on.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Sorry Misha. I like your nice thread very much and didn't mean to sully it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Heidi wrote: "OH! And in the spirit of The Nice Room, hugs from me to you (YES, you!). :) I hope you're having a wonderful Friday."

We came, we hugged, we conquered.

Sully is a weird word. Who came up with that?

message 97: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments SULLY: from Merriam Webster:

Etymology: Middle English *sullien, probably alteration (influenced by Anglo-French suillier, soiller to soil) of sulen to soil, from Old English sylian
Date: 15th century

: to make soiled or tarnished

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The thought of it just fascinated me for some reason.

My niece used to ponder who came up with the word doily. Ever since then, I'll have random moments with words.

Heh. I get the guidelines, but I also like the impulse to break them...courteously, of course, and then moving on...
