SOLVED. Book about a girl who has been cloned from a scientist [s]

I remember reading this book in middle school. It was about a girl with odd personality traits who finds out as a teenager that she is a clone. She has been cloned from a famous woman scientist who died tragically (I think in a fire) before her important work was completed. Come to find out more than one clone was made, and all these girls are taken to a center to see if one of them will grow up to carry on her work. I think that maybe there was a part of the story line where they were going to kill the clones, and she had to try to get away, but it's hard to remember. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I saw this in the daily email and was like - I know, I know! because I asked the question back in April. Funny how books just come to mind years later. Did you see the movie they made of it back then as well?

No, I didn't know they had one. Was it any good?

I'm pretty sure I saw it before I read the book. I enjoyed it, but I was pretty young then (and the movie is pretty old now).

I think its REPLICA by Marilyn Kaye. Ive been looking for that same book :)
