See it all works out :)

When Todd and I moved in together I was mostly surprised how small a book collection he had. He had maybe 20 books even though he was a big reader. I'd turned him on to Barker a few years before when we were in a Job training course for teens in the summer.

BTW, I think that, in all honesty, my favorite Barker books are the "Books of Blood" - his first three collections of short stories. I found more ideas in those stories than in the rest of his writing.

Hi, Bondama-
Thank you for your input!

Excellent book - I read this one many years ago, the title brought me back to the story.

Love this book!

Love this book!

I am now rereading a book I read years ago:
Boy's Life. So far, it's just as good as I remember it to be.

Hi, Bondama!
It's just a shame that Larsson never got to finish writing the series, which was supposed to be 9 or 10 books long...

Congratulations, Rachel!!

Wow - I'm reading I, Robot now and it's like TORTURE.

Those that liked the movie with Will Smith will likely hate the original stories, since the movie paid little attention or respect to the Three Laws of Robotics.

I just may have to check that out, Todd.:) Thank you!
I once tried Asimov's Foundation, but that had to be a good 10-12 years ago. My literary tastes have changed since then. I might really like and appreciate his writing now...although I do recall it being very wordy.

It's pretty good so far (I'm about two hundred pages in).
I love finding and reading old out of print 80s horror novels. It is amazing just how much stuff is out there.

I recently read the Turtle Boy and the second book, The Hides. I think there are more but haven't gottem to them yet. I liked them as well.

Haven't watched the movie actually, so that can't be it. I love sci-fi, and am participating in a challenge where I pick the genre and someone else picks the book. I had actually been meaning to get to this some day, especially since I had read Robopocalypse. Wanted to see if they were similar at all. I'm just getting lost in all the jargon - maybe it's the fact that it was written in the 50's for a time period that just happens to now be contemporary, and I'm having trouble figuring out what terms are made up and what terms aren't. I'm getting too lost in the science. Too much terminology that either makes no sense at all or just makes no sense to me and not enough story.
That's just my opinion!

I really enjoyed that one. Thayer has written some terrific books.
Todd wrote: "On the Kindle, I'm 24% into Freeze, and feeling the -10 weather in the story."
Ha! Heat wave.
I'm reading The Terror. They would bask in -10.

Chris, how are you liking it so far? I had no idea what those early explorers went through until I read that book. Can you imagine being stuck in the ice in your boat, for months and months at a time?
I'm liking it. I should finish it today....
I couldn't handle being stuck in the ice like that. I'm a Southerner. We don't know cold.

That's awesome, Scott!!
