What are you reading right now?

Dani wrote: "Now I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible. So far, SPECTACULAR! The characters are the type you get involved with. Love that."It really IS spectacular, isn't it?
Don't forget...it took me a year and a half to make it through Les Miserables....so how long it takes doesn't matter! Just enjoy the book! :)
I am enjoying it, Kathy. I'm just not used to a book taking me so very long to finish. I used to reading an average of about 300 pages a week. At that rate, I should have been done in roughly 3 weeks...a month, tops.
I'm sure you can see why I'm so frustrated, right?
Dani wrote: "Nah, as long as you are enjoying it! Although, it is a rather tough read, isn't it?"No, not really. I mean, it is long, but the story isn't all that intricate or anything..
Sometimes, I think you just need a "vacation" from big books like that. You enjoy them, but you just need to take a break here and there. That's the way I was with Moby Dick and Les Miserables. I enjoyed them, but I enjoyed them even more when I could step away when I needed to. If that makes any sense. :\
It does make sense, Kathy, and I know what you mean. With Moby-Dick, for instance, I'd take a break after awhile and then come back to it. The same goes for Dickens' Bleak House. But in complete earnestness, I really think I'd be enjoying Pillars much more if I'd just get it over with!
I'm reading The Dead Zone, but it's taking me forever. I'm back to school this week, and I have so much (boring) reading for school, I have had no time for fun reading :( I started it 4 days ago and I'm only 130ish pages in, normally I would have finished it and started something else already LOL

Finally read Ur! Just picked up Outlander. Didn't really want to get caught up in a series. We shall see how much I like this one . . . the next book I have queued up on the Kindle is Eragon, lol, another series book.
Dani wrote: "Finally read Ur! Just picked up Outlander. Didn't really want to get caught up in a series. We shall see how much I like this one . . . the next book I have queued up on the Kindle is ..."Eragon's great, Dani!
My daughter loved the series and is eagerly awaiting Inheritance. As soon as I finish Outlander I will start Eragon. I read a few pages of DD's and liked what I read.
Hi all! Right now I'm about halfway through Needful Things, and I'm really enjoying it. I've got a few other SK books lined up but I'm not sure if I should alternate them with other books... Guess I have some time to decide! =)
Just After Sunset
... right now on the story called Stationary Bike. I generally like the stories though some are better than others.
I have just started reading "The Gunslinger" The Dark Tower #1. The start of the book at first was really confusing becaues I had no idea what was going on. I am about 100 pages into the book and I am catching on now and can follow what is going on but man the first 20-25 pages I was so confused lol. I am hoping that I will be able to follow along now and be able to continue with the dark tower books.

Finally finished The Dead Zone a couple of days ago - it was great, one of my favourite Kings I think! I'm now reading Something Wicked This Way Comes for the Horror Aficionados group read.

Courtney wrote: "Finally finished The Dead Zone a couple of days ago - it was great, one of my favourite Kings I think! I'm now reading Something Wicked This Way Comes for the Horror Aficionados group..."Hi, Courtney!
It's great to hear that you feel so highly about The Dead Zone (which, BTW, I think is-by far-easily one of SK's best!!)
I'm reading A Game of Thrones right now and I'll be going right into A Clash of Kings next. I like this book SO much more than I thought I would.
Read Mile 81 to take a small break from Usher's Passing by McCammon ... both great reads. Currently reading Fool Moon book 2 of the Dresden Files. Not sure what lies up ahead ... maybe Contagion by Robin Cook or Sleepy Head by Mark Billingham.
Donna wrote, "I have just started reading "The Gunslinger" The Dark Tower #1. It does eventually make sense to the sober reader. By the time you hit your stride with the book, you understand the chase a little better. I agree that the series really catches its flow and gets better and bettr with each book. The Waste Lands was my favorite :)
Haha! I never saw it coming, either, though I definitely saw how necessary it was. Not the ending I expected, but brilliant all the same.

What do you think of the Left Behind series? I have read them some time back and I loved them. Very scary if you think about it. I understand they are fiction but what is really going to happen in the end times?
