I finished American Gods and it was great! I haven't given out a lot of 5 stars this year, but that one rates. :)

I'm working on
. I've seen the movie, but the book is better--it's hard to put a book with such poetic writing on the screen and get it right, I guess.

I decided to go with Don't Breathe a Word. I've really been wanting to read it for awhile.Re: The Ruins - it's funny that there are so many haters in this group. Everyone loves it over on HA, it was all the high praise that made me want to read it in the first place. I liked the movie, so I imagine I'll be in the camp that likes the book too :)

I've wanted to read White Oleander for a few years now. And it has been on my "to-read" list for quite some time..

IJ is one of my all time favs, but it took me somewhere about 200+ pages to get into it. But for me it was worth it.
I'm reading Duma Key, it became the first King book I´ve left for a while, not just because I took a long time to read but I felt a little disappointed. I´m a fan of Stephen King and hope to read all of his books, I´m looking forward on read another one.
Duma Key was excellent. I just read it earlier this year. Enjoy!I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last night and I started The Summer I Died this morning.

I'm almost done with
and to lighten things up after the last few books I've read, I'm also reading
. I really needed it!
I just finished The Shining, which was awesome and a million times better than the movie(aren't they all!!) so now I'm moving on to Salem's Lot, then I have some books I won in the Goodreads giveaways to read and review next :)
Robert wrote: "Full Dark, No Stars is almost over, maybe American Gods or Neverwhere next..."Gaiman's books are excellent. Both of those are excellent reads.

So what you're saying is that White Oleander didn't particularly work for you, Lena..
I'm reading Four Past Midnight and In Winter's Shadow (by Gillian Bradshaw - I was a Good Reads contest winner). I finished the first two stories in Four Past Midnight. Langoliers was fantastic, Secret Window, Secret Garden surprised me at the end!
OMG, Jen, I won that one too!! I'm about to start In Winter's Shadow since I finished The Shining yesterday! So awesome! I wish I could have read the two that came before In Winter's Shadow first... I guess there's no time limit though, so who knows, maybe I can find them in the library :)
Finished Dolans Cadillac Audiobook on Friday.Suffered through The Shining movie last night, during Irene,Expected to lose power and switch to book and flashlight-no such luck. Really disappointed by the movie.
30% into Duma Key and rolling.
Just finished It. I have no clue what I'm going to say in my review... I feel like it's gonna be a hard one to write. Eventually though, when I get it written, I'll be reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
next.
I finished The Summer I Died on Saturday. That was an intense book to say the least. After that, I decided to go with something much lighter. So I started I Am Ozzy. It is very funny so far.

Currently: Appollyon (#6 I believe) of the Left Behind series. Next: The Hunger Games... i feel really excited about this book. Makes me think of 'The Long Walk', but I've only just begun.
Alondra wrote: " Makes me think of 'The Long Walk', but I've only just begun."Precisely why I had my daughter follow up Hunger Games with Long Walk.
mmmm, i am trying to be good and not read apollyon and hunger games at the same time..(which is my habit). i really want to be fair to Hunger Games. its so hard not to read everything RIGHT NOW....mmmm
Dustin wrote: "Hi, Kevin! How are your thoughts on American Gods?"
I loved American Gods, everything about the book was so amazing. When I first read the book I did not expect it was at all about gods.
I finished I Am Ozzy last night. I think that this was the funniest book I've ever read.I then started The Great and Secret Show.
Dustin wrote: "Hi, Lena! What do you think (so far) about TGWLTG?"
It's good so far...kinda frustrating!
Just purchased my first King novel today ... Carrie. 20 pages in and I am really enjoying it. Getting a very unsettled feeling regarding what Carrie is gonna do once she gets her ultimate revenge on all those who have made fun of and made her life hell.
Hey all. I'm working on:Nightmares & Dreamscapes
and
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb
Now I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible. So far, SPECTACULAR! The characters are the type you get involved with. Love that.
