I used to only read one book at a time, but now i find myself reading 2 or 3 at the same time. So many good books to read, so little time.

Most of the time I'm supposed to be reviewing and will read that, but because I can't help myself, I'll find myself reading a library book for fun, something I've picked up from the store. Eventually one of the books ends up being so awesome that I end up putting the others aside until I'm finished! (lol) Crazy, I know.
I usually have one going, even though I never really mess up the plots, I just find it better because I'm fully able to capture the complete story, without having my mind on another. Although, this could be good because then I don't start finishing books as quickly - you need time to read all threee or two
One book at a time - why drag it out? Read it and git 'er done :) However, I do list my "next in line" ones in my status.
I usually have 2 or 3 books going on at the same time, it always takes me longer to get through books.
I usually read two or three at a time. The stories are always different so I don't get them mixed up. It's usually a large book that I keep downstairs, an easier to hold book for reading in the bath and in bed, and a small paperback that fits nicely in my handbag for reading during my lunch break!
One at a time for me, but I sometimes have a book I'm not as into (or a non-fiction) book that I haul out in-between books.. I like concentrating on one main story:-) Right now, my fluff book would be Fallen.. I didn't manage to get into it, so I read it when I have extra time to spare and no book I'm hooked on:-)
Definitely one book at a time. I like to really get into the world I'm reading. It has actually never even occurred to me to read more than one book at a time. lol--I can't help thinking that if I did, I'd feel like I was cheating on whichever book I'd started first. :)
Multiple books for me. I have a book in the bedroom, living room and bathroom (sorry, TMI). Although when I really get into a book, I tend to read it until the very end, ignoring my other 2 books, lol!!
I'm a multiple book person. I have a weird reading schedule. I read like crazy for 2 or 3 weeks, then the next couple of weeks I get through 30 or 40 pages. It flips back and forth - sometimes, I just can't read! Other times, I'm an insane reader.
I usually read one book at a time, but if I start a book and realize I'm not in the mood for that particular style I'll start another. I have been known at times to have 4 books partly read.
Haha, yes, sometimes it's hard to find balance with what you're reading. What kind of books do you read? Make sure to answer the first topic in the group for our monthly book-read.
So far I can honestly say I read sometimes 4 books at a time. I keep one in my purse because you never know when I am stuck in the car waiting for someone or my duaghets to get out of dance practice. One at work because I can't let my lunch break go to waste and then I have two by my bedside. One is a fluff read and the other is usually a book of the month or so. Unless I can't put the book down then it comes with me everywhere
Hi all....When i stop reading a book, i have to spend like 5 minutes, just getting out of the book, and then about 1hour thinking about it, and then the rest of the day hoping i'll get a second to carry on...Then when i finish it, i spend months wishing i'd let the story last just that little but longer... And its worse when i fall in love with the charectors... LOL
So for that reason i can only read one book at a time, (and i will take it everywhere,) if i read more than one book i'd have a mental breakdown!
Books are like killer headaches... They never leave me alone!
LOL

I *have* to read multiple books at a time. I'll start book A, get far enough into it to know if I want to keep reading, then start book B and see how it goes. In the meantime, I've finished book A, so I have to start book C and so on... Sometimes it happens that I'll finish several books at once, and I almost always wind up in a reading funk when that happens. It really is an addiction! I have to know where my next fix is coming from or I'll hit withdrawal. Hehe! :)
I read about 6-10 books at the same time. Usually around 8. The other day I was at 11, briefly. Am back down to 9 now.
I usually have 2 or 3 going at once. One is usually an audiobook. Lately I've been sticking to 2 at a time as much as possible because of a reading challenge that doesn't allow over lapping. It's for a different goodreads group and I have 2 tracks going and can have a book going for each track-but not more than one going at a time for a single track. Not if I want the pts for it anyway.
When I was taking an English class, I would read more than one at at time. The book for class and then another of my choosing. I'm not taking English this semester though, so I've only been reading one at a time.
I use to just read one at a time but lately I'm usually reading 2 or 3 and listening to at least 2 sometimes 3. It does feel overwhelming at times :)
I read a lot of books at the same time and it all has to do with whether I own it or not. I check a lot of books out from the library so I usually focus on those pretty constantly, but if I'm between library books, I'll read one of the books I own only to put it down as soon as I get more library books. But if I'm really loving the book, regardless of if it's a library book or not, I'll read it until I finish it. hahaIt just depends.
I used to read one book at a time, but since it really helped me to read books in English while I was studying it, now that I'm studying Portuguese I go to the library, take books in Portuguese and I read them while I read my other books (in English and Spanish).(But if I really get into one book, I read it and the others just have to wait xD)
I usually have two or three going as well as listening to an audiobook with my kids in the evening. Of the ones I have going, one is dedicated to my treadmill. My husband built me a shelf so I can read & walk. I pick a book I know I'll enjoy to stick on there, so I'm motivated to get walking. :)
I am definitely a one book at a time person. The only time that I can read two books at once is if one is non-fiction and the other is fiction, they have to be completely different. I get confused too easily otherwise. lol

It's great inspiration to get moving. I have Harry Dresden (Turn Coat) on my treadmill, so it's taking me forever to read. The good part is I want to keep walking to see what happens next. The bad part is I can't walk over 3 mph or I bounce around too much to read. lol
Is it wrong of me to hate exercising? I wish I could hire someone to burn calories for me by proxy. I've always hated working out, I'm a couch potato.
Shay wrote: "Is it wrong of me to hate exercising? I wish I could hire someone to burn calories for me by proxy. I've always hated working out, I'm a couch potato."There's nothing wrong with that at all! Excercise is hard work! Tiring too.
Shay wrote: "Is it wrong of me to hate exercising? I wish I could hire someone to burn calories for me by proxy. I've always hated working out, I'm a couch potato."Shay, I hate exercising too. And every time I feel a bit guilty I eat some chocolate ;).
I don't recall if I answered this topic before and I don't want to look for myself either. I have tried to read more than one book at time. I end up neglecting one or all. It lessens my reading experience.
I hate exercising, too. That's why I picked a treadmill that would be easy to add a shelf for my books. I can listen to audiobooks on it, too since it has a plug in and speakers. I used to belong to Curves and I would stop in the early morning after my paper route since I had to drive right by it. But I quit my route back in 2008 when gas prices went sky high, so no more Curves. My hubby & I are going to join the YMCA Express just down the road. I want to use the strength training machines to build muscle since more muscle burns more fat. I figure we can motivate each other and since he was in the Marines he has plenty of motivation to throw around. :D
Curves offered a free one month trial to all the girls at my school and I did it for a while. I had fun, which I think had a lot to do with the fact that I went with my friends. I really can’t recall why I stopped going though…
Normally I only read 1 at a time, but occasionally I have to read 2. Depends when one has to go back to the library.

Lauren, I swear one day when we're older we have to meet up to exercise. And by exercise I mean I eat chocolate while you do laps.
Erika wrote: "I have Multiple Book Personality. I've lost count of how many I'm reading at the moment. It's a lot. I read parts of 5 different books all in one day this week and that's only a portion of them."That's a good way to put it, Erika; Multiple Book Personality...I might have to steal your term ;)
Erika wrote: "Go ahead and steal it, Sashana! I might have to steal your idea of group exercise in return :D"Lol, thanks Erika. And you can join us; just know that you'll probably have to run some laps while I dangle chocolate in front of you.
I usually have 2 or 3 books going at the same time. One is on my Kobo, so it's the book I cart around with me. One is near the bed, and I usually have another on the go. So many books, so little time.
Depending on the length of the books I tend to read two at a time. Right now I am only reading one book because of it's length and small font.
i've once tried to read multiple books from the library, but it only made me confuse the multiple plots, and then end up having multiple books i haven't finished before i have to return them, instead of just 1 or two. I like to be able to concentrate my full attention to my Fantasy World, and Reality clearly.
