Sorry Sally

Lyzzibug ~Still Breathing~ (lyzzibug) | 708 comments I'm about to pull my hair out here. My supervisor took the day off, so lucky me I get her headache.

Sarah | 13814 comments Whew. Sally! You can stop writhing now!

message 1312: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart I saw a sign that said "Thank's," and I thought about Sally.

message 1313: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) You would go clinically insane if you were to visit a certain fashion website of which I am a member, Sally. Inappropriate apostrophes are rampant. Rampant, I tell ya!

Phil | 11841 comments At the end of the day, Mr's. Harri's began preparing the evening meal for her kid's. Putting a pot of water on the stove to boil, she moved to the pantry, reached above the empty bags' on the third shelf, and found the package of spaghetti she had purchased last week. But were the empty bags' truly empty?

I don't really understand the difference between "on the edge" and "feeling edgy" - they're not the same?

message 1329: by Jonathan (last edited Mar 06, 2011 06:41PM) (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments "Feeling edgy" and "being on edge" both convey a general sense of unease and/or foreboding. But "being edgy" can also mean something else, something positive--hip, cool, transgressive--like Lenny Bruce, etc. I think that's what Gail was talking about in msg. 1471. Maybe. But then again, maybe not...

Jim wrote: "Geez Gail, sorry I made you edgy!"

Ha, I was just playing with you for saying I wasn't edgy as in. No 3. rather than No 1.

edgy
–adjective, edg·i·er, edg·i·est.
1. nervously irritable; impatient and anxious.
2. sharp-edged; sharply defined, as outlines.
3. daringly innovative; on the cutting edge.

Oh never mind, I'll just go and have a stiff drink then I'll be back to normal.

message 1333: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) That cat doesn't look edgy. It looks severely pissed off.

message 1334: by [deleted user] (new)

But, the spikey hair is kinda innovative and cutting edge...dontcha think, Jacks?

message 1336: by [deleted user] (new)

Exactly my point Sally. I assumed Jim was sledging me.

message 1337: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Sledging? Is that like sandbagging?

message 1338: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 07, 2011 03:50PM) (new)

Sandbagging?

Sledging is a term used (particularly in cricket) to verbally torment someone.
