Brittomart Ugh! My computer has a virus that can't be quarantined, and I don't go back to school until the 8th, so they can't fix it until then.

Are there any tech masters on TC who can help me?

message 1005: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's those porn sites, Britt. How bad is it?

Try downloading Microsoft Security Essentails, and run a scan with that first.

message 1006: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart The virus has corrupted a system file, so my antivirus can't get rid of it. When I go back to school, they can wipe my entire computer clean, and I'll literally start from scratch, but ugh. I feel so panicky right now.

Hope your computer gets better soon.

Lori Why do so many people buy Snugglies?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Lori wrote: "Why do so many people buy Snugglies?"

Because they don't have someone to make them a homemade afghan, I'm guessing, Lori.

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Jackie "the Librarian" wrote: "a homemade afghan..."

I thought only Afghans could make an Afghan.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments See, if you've got one of those on the couch with you, you don't need a Snuggie. :)

message 1015: by Lori (new)

Lori Ha!

message 1016: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I just googled snugglies and came up with a few different products. Are you talking about something that looks like a cross between a blanket and a pair of PJs Lori? Or is that a snuggie?

message 1017: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Jonathan, it's a Snuggie, a Slanket, a Wrappie or any one of a variety of names, but yes, it looks like a robe worn backwards or a cross between a blanket and a pair of PJs.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments It's the amazing blanket with ARMS!!! :)

message 1019: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Might have been nice when I lived in Boston (cold, old, uninsulated house), but my apartment now is so overheated that I mostly wear shorts and a t-shirt indoors during the winter. Turning off the radiators doesn't help: the entire building is too hot.

message 1020: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart I've got a nautical-themed, Pashmina afghan...

message 1021: by Lori (new)

Lori Ah sorry, yes I added an l that doesn't belong. Snuggie. But good grief, would you really want to wrap yourself in thin cheap polyester?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Lori wrote: "Ah sorry, yes I added an l that doesn't belong. Snuggie. But good grief, would you really want to wrap yourself in thin cheap polyester?"

I would think you'd get all staticky.

I'm jealous of Jonathan's warm apartment, I don't get many opportunities to wear shorts.

message 1023: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments When it's genuinely cold outside like it is now, the inside temperature is actually fine. The problem is when it's around 50 degrees outside and 80 inside. It's completely insane. I've asked to super about it, and he says it has something to do with the antiquated design of the steam system (the building is over 100 years old). Anyway, no Snuggies for me.

message 1024: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Britt, that sounds lovely!

I am not jealous of Jonathan's apartment--I had an overheated one-bedroom tenement for my first apartment, and I was miserable a lot of the time because I hate heat.

message 1025: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Haha, Jammies, it's a line from a song. "I'm on a Boat" by The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain.

In other news, I like regular tea. :)

I really like Barb's new title and guffawed at it as well but I did not do it. I suspect Jim, who is my new #1 favorite because he guessed my answer in, like, 2 seconds in Britt's game.

Also, I came here to post that it makes me warm and fuzzy inside when LG posts random old quotes from ME in the favorite quotes thread.

That is all.

message 1042: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Ugh, this pill is taking forever to dissolve.

Am I a bad person because when my doctor prescribed me Vicodin for my headaches, I had to try really really hard to suppress my smile?

message 1043: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart She said that she suffers from chronic headaches too, and she wanted me to go do a sleep study tonight because she thinks I might have sleep apnea....but I don't have sleep apnea AND I have to get my stuff ready to go back to school, so...I will have to do the sleep study later.

I feel like such an old person. She gave me a pill to lower my blood pressure (just one, not a regular treatment), a muscle relaxer, a singular for my alergies, and I had to shoot some Nasonex up my nose. And THEN when I wake up from all of this stuff because it's gonna knock me out, I have to pick up my prescriptions. I really can't wait for that vicodin.

message 1044: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Vicodin is not my friend.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Vicodin has never worked on me. Now Valium...that little pill is most definitely my friend. I go to a happy sleepy place with Valium.
