tytti | 45 comments Finally, tomorrow's the day! One more night and I can't wait!!! No,it's not my wedding day.
I get to see Eclipse! After seven months of waiting... I sooooo hope it's friggin' awesome.

What about you? Have you seen it or going to see it?

message 2: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sandram1967) | 71 comments My daughter and I have gone to the first two together, but she is trying to arrange with a friend for Eclipse, but the friend is hardly going to be home now that summer started. So I imagine I will be seeing it with my daughter. I enjoy the movies enough.

message 3: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 4 comments I went to the midnight opening with 7 other people, it was sooo much fun. Going to go see it again this weekend with a few others

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I went to a special showing on Tuesday with 7 of my friends and their teenage daughters. The movie is awesome! The fight scenes were great and the Edward and Bella scenes were very romantic.

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) Saw it Wednesday! It was very good. David Slade really raised the bar with this one. Much much better than the first movie and a step up from the second movie. The fight scenes were awesome. I was afraid it would look cheesy with all the CGI but it was pulled off very well. It also followed the book fairly close. I recognized many lines that were nearly word for word from the book!

*Mild Spoiler*

Thank you Mr. Slade for including the tent scene!! "Fire and Ice" is my favorite chapter out of all 4 books and being able to see it on the big screen was amazing.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I was very happy about the tent scene too. I don't think it quite showed how big of a jerk Jacob was in that scene though. Haha!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments I am going to see it tonight at 12.05! not long to go now!

message 8: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Harris | 77 comments I saw it. And it was good. I was glad to see some violence from these vamps. I was glad about the tent scene. But I just wish they had spent more time on the first half of the movie showing how Bella played these two guys. (Oh yeah, she played them.) But overall, I thought it did the book justice.

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) Oh, and I feel the need to add that the acting was much better this time around. Whoever told Kristen Stewart not to blink so much and smooth out the stutter was a genius. She didn't annoy me nearly as much in this movie.

Thank goodness! I couldn't really stand her acting. It was like she'd hold her breath and talk weird right after.

Ashley Hollingsworth | 8 comments Im going tomorrow night. Can't wait :)

Jennifer M (happytwilighter) I really enjoyed this one. I was a little leary since Eclipse is my favorite book of the series, and I was less than thrilled with the last two movies. Don't get me wrong, they're entertaining, but I'm such a book snob, if they don't follow along closely enough for me, I get upset. Eclipse wasn't perfect, but it was sooooooo much closer to the book. And yeah, the acting, and all around feel of the movie was MUCH improved. I'll definitely be seeing this again in the theatre. :-)

Jacob is not a jerk
JACOB!!

message 16: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (booksnook) | 3 comments I saw the movie yesterday with my husband, son, daughter and my daughters friend. We all enjoyed it. OFr obvious reasons things were changed but story is basically the same and enjoyable.
Shannen- I agree they did soften the tent scene. But the writer was able to distance Bella and Jake emotionally enough to make you root for Edward.

message 17: by Heather (new)

Heather | 243 comments Saw Eclipse for the second time and soon 3rd tomorrow. Loved the tent scene as well as Edward never looked so damn good! I crammed to reread the book before the movie and I was satified to see that they got a lot of the book into the movie without having to really change a lot. Oh heavenly sigh..

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Went to see it last night. I liked it more then the other films, and Edward did look hot in it!

But, what was with all the monologues? They never seemed to have actual convesations, and also will Bella EVER smile, she has the same expression when she is horny as when she does when she is about to be attacked by a vampire! Grrrrr, rant over, please don't hurt me!

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments I saw it last night as well, and really enjoyed it. I think everyone's acting was noticeably improved. And yes, Edward looked brilliant, but I was really loving Riley. Very easy on the eyes... =)

Maybe she was horny to be attacked by a vampire lol

tytti | 45 comments *MINOR SPOILERS*

It's almost midnight and I just came home from the movies and I'm soooo happy. It was so good (and friggin' awesome as I hoped it would be). It was worth the loooooong wait =)
The tent scene,Charlie's "be safe" speech, the fight scene, the proposal... sigh...
I liked this Edward who could kick ass, I mean the ending with Victoria, whoa!
There's one thing that buggeg me: They didn't play "Heavy in your arms" by Florence and the Machine during the movie...
Oh well, I think I'm going to bed now... And I'm so going to dream about Jacob's abs... and biceps...

Good Night!

ps. Is it just me or was Jacob much more muscular in this film?

message 22: by Shannon (new)

Shannon C. | 69 comments I thought it was the best of the three movies. They did a good job adapting the book, much better than they did in the first one.

The only thing that really annoyed me was how unrealistic it seemed when the bad vamps were torn apart they seemed like mannequins or like frozen bodies. There wasn't any blood/gore like you'd expect. But my hubby made the point it was probably toned down given so many young adult fans.

The same sort of thing annoyed me in the books -- the lack of fangs, the sparkly skin, etc.

message 23: by Heather (new)

Heather | 243 comments Tytti, I thought they did a great job with the tent and proposal scenes. I've seen the movie several times now and those scenes just get to me. I've always loved Charlie and he didn't let me down; Billy does a great job with the character.

Shannon, ITA about the bad vamps and their death. In all three movies the only blood spilt was Bella's and I think Meyer has some say on that..

I agree, it was the best adaptation of the three. And one of those adaptations that I loved was the way the vamps died in the fight. The book repeatedly describes them being hard and cold like marble... this was the first time, in the movies, they showed that.

As far as the fangs go, Stephenie commented that anything with fangs can be scary, but imagine how much scarier something that can tear you apart the same way WITHOUT fangs would be?

Just her way of recreating the mythology. :-)

Ashley Hollingsworth | 8 comments Just got home. Have to say I liked the movie. I thought some of the scenes were a little rushed but that's what happens when books go to movie, there just isnt enough time. But I did enjoy it. And Billy as Charlie is awesome- love him-. Kristen Stewart improved minorly..

message 29: by Chandra (new)

Chandra (LiteratureIsLife) Yeah, Eclipse was the best out movie out of the Twilight Saga so far. Despite them leaving some stuff out, iot was a good movie. But they changed Victoria. I think Rachel Lefvre would've been great in Eclipse, she's got the fierceness you need to play Victoria while this new one looks too innoncent with her big, round eyes!

I don't think it showed how big of jerk Jacob was throughout the whole movie! I remember when I was reading the book I couldn't stand him, but didn't mind him too much in the movie

As a whole, I absolutely loved the movie!! I definitely thought it was the best one so far. By a looong way

That bugged me too! Its a fantastic song from a fantastic band. America you will love this band!!!! The album is fantastic

Back to the film, I thought it was great. I admit I gave up reading the books after throwing Twilight across the room in frustration and have refused to read any more, though I did read the short second life of bree tanner which was good cos it king of brought a bit more to this movie.

Agree on the tent scene and I loved Jasper and Rosalines backstory! Very good!!!

I didn't think Jacob was a jerk at all. I think Bella was the jerk towards Jacob and just used him when Edward wasn't around. I guess it all depends on the way you look at the relationship. One thing that bugged me about the books was how controlling Edward was and that makes him a jerk.

Thanks Sandra lol

I could never understand how Jacob was a jerk when he was used by Bella over and over and over and over.
And the claims that Jacob is immature..he was bloody 16 lol

At least he didn't pull a stunt like Edward and leave Bella "for her own good" while danger was still out there..who does that?
He is old enough to know better lol

message 36: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 69 comments Yeah sorry girls but I thought he was! Or maybe jerk isn't the right word.....desperate, annoying?? Lol
I guess it all comes down to personal opinion. I loved Edward and didn't find him to be creepy and controlling like so many did. I didn't really like Bella but didn't think she used Jacob either.
I guess because I was rooting for the Edward and Bella relationship so much that I found Jacob's attempts to win Bella over, annoying and selfish on his part because he knew she loved Edward. Sorry that's just the way I felt when I was reading Eclipse! :)

lol I share the same opinion. When I read the books, I could not stand Jacob, and in this last movie I actually felt bad for him.

Pat aka Tygyr (tygyr) | 69 comments Saw Eclipse on the 4th with my husband. Loved it. I still prefer the books to the movies, but I usually like to use my own imagination of what the characters look like. Plus in a movie script they have to pick and choose scenes, somethings get left out.

i agree...in the books i was definately Team Edward and merely found Jacob to be an interference.....after watching the movies....new moon made me really like Jacob more and then i was on the fence.....went and saw eclipse and i stand very firm on the Team Edward side and thought Jacob should give up already!

boy did it also annoy me to no end to see the new Victoria....Rachel did a much better job at it!

message 42: by Samantha (new)

OH I agree on the Victoria part...I was like WTF!!!! Didn't like her at all good thing she won't be in the rest.

I've always been on the fence because I love Both Edward and jacob, and they both annoy me at times too. Taylor Lautner pulls off Jacob very nicely lol.

message 43: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 69 comments Thanks Daniele and Rayna - glad I'm not the only one who felt that way!! haha
Definitely like Jacob more after watching the movies but still stand firmly on Team Edward :)

I agree with the Victoria thing too.....didn't like the new one at all!

She really didn't make much an impact at all in me and to be brutally honest, if I didn't already know that the actress had been replaced, I probably wouldn't have noticed. Victoria had little no major impact on screen. Everything was very much behind closed doors.

message 47: by AH (new)

AH | 123 comments Finally saw Eclipse last night. (I hate crowds). Interesting audience - a bunch of teens, and a bunch of older people, and a few men. I think what made it fun was the "squees" at the appropriate times....The teen contingent was Team Jacob...They made the rest of the audience laugh.

The movie was much better than the others, and the music fit well. I loved that they fit in Rosalie's and Jasper's back stories. Can't wait for the DVD!

message 48: by Danny (new)

Danny (dannyvanquish) | 1 comments I love Eclipse! I was in the US to meet with my friends to see it and it was wonderful. (I'm from Germany..) They took every important scene from the book which was so appreciated. It has the prefect mix between action and romance. The romance and kissing was sweet.

Finally also Rosalie looked beautiful! Thanks for that!

I've seen it three times and I can't wait to watch it again.

message 49: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Yeah I will own it when it comes out on DVD just like I do the other two, and as I will do with the Breaking Dawn Movies.

message 50: by Cyle (new)

Cyle (seeingnightreviews) | 38 comments Much better than the other two, the action scenes were good and the best was the rival scenes of Jacob and Edward. Ill actually buy this one on DVD.
