I also had the pleasure of meeting our esteemed moderator, Suzann, who is also an author. :)
Let's see... I'm going to Kathy Reichs's book signing later this year.

Jim Hines was very supportive of both fans and fellow writers; George R.R. Martin was a very interesting guest to chat with at Foolscap in Seattle a few years ago; I'd love to meet Charles de Lint one of these years, as I've deeply enjoyed his work for quite some time.
For those who want the most authors per square footage that isn't World Fantasy or Science Fiction, I suggest getting a day pass at Gen Con in Indianapolis, IN. The usual authors in attendance include Mike Stackpole, Bob Salvatore, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Ed Greenwood, Jean Rabe, Matt Forbeck, Jeff Grubb, Troy Denning, Doug Niles (though not as often of late by those last few). There's also a Writer's Symposium of seminars for working writers (of which I'm a part and a fellow author), if you're looking for programming that doesn't skew only toward gaming. Honestly--a lot of fantasy and SF writers are gamers, so there's a good chance of meeting many there.

Now- I've seen major celebrities at cons charge WAY less than that, and the funds are usually going towards photos and some type of charity that the celeb sponsors. With authors, usually if a person has bought a book the author doesn't charge for the signature. Not so with Greenwood. After that incident, I have nothing positive to say about the man.

I haven't had the chance to read it but she seems so nice!

I am not sure why she choose Radcliff. She is also going to be in Crestview Hills KY but the date hasn't been set for this one.
Anton...
You're hysterical! I like your sense of humor. It's kinda like mine.

I am sure there are a couple more but they are slipping my mind. :)

I met Jim at Mile-Hi Con last year. Really great guy!

Jennifer, I am SOOOO jealous! I've been trying to meet JB and his wife for a while now, but they never come to Nashville. Oy! A friend of mine got me a signed book at ComiCon last year, but it's not the same...

I knew Sandra McDonald and Keith R.A. DeCandido in fandom many years ago before either of them had published books.
Charles de Lint and I have traded a few e-mails, but when I went to Ottawa I was too chicken to go see him play live music... (He plays Celtic music every Thursday ? at a bar in Ottawa.)
I read Lois McMaster Bujold's and Tanya Huff's blogs and occasionally comment.

I met James O'Barr as well, this was last year at a comic convention. He seemed so sad to me, maybe it was just the day he was having, but he was also very kind, which really helped because being a shy person I felt very nervous to talk to him.

I have been to two different signings for Sherrilyn Kenyon the first was for Acheron and the second was for the re-release of Born of the Night. She is amazing to meet in person very fun and interactive. I will say the same for J.R Ward. I went to the signing for Lover Avenged in Kentucky and then she was at the 2009 RWA signing that was in Washington D.C. The RWA was where I meet Nora Roberts, Jenna Black and Suzanne Brockmann and many others. I only got books signed my these three though. Kelley Armstrong and Melissa Marr were touring together last year where I saw them at a signing at the local Barnes and Noble. They were awesome also very interactive with the crowd. I went to Ravoncon 2010 and got to hang out, go to panels, and chat with Rachel Caine which was probably the coolest thing ever. All of the above have been great authors to see that really seem to enjoy meet and greets with the fans. Phillip Pullman was a very good presenter and I think the whole thing would have been much more enjoyable for all readers If 99% of the questions weren't about the failed movie and his religious views.Okay the very first Author I ever got to meet was a disaster. Laurell K Hamilton isn't just a bad writer she is horrible to meet in person. The whole time she was at the Barnes and Noble her husband did the talking and when he wasn't talking she would like defer to him for answer about HER books. Not to mention the fact that we didn't come to meet him. But that doesn't matter since I can't really stomach reading her books any more. I would go see all of these authors again except Laurell K Hamilton.

She comes across and very fake and plastic, even condescending behind the plastered on smile. Just, very two dimensional.

I also met Nalini Singh from the Psy-Changeling series and Guild Hunter series, Allyson James/Jennifer Ashley from the Stormwalker series and many many others books. There was sooooo many authors it's hard to name them all, but Kelley Armstrong, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Nora Roberts, Suzanne Brockmann, and many more were there that I was able to see and take pics of, it not meet them. :) Soooo much fun! I was like a kid in the candy store.
